"yeah?" a smirk forms across the clown's face as he holds up a hand. "so what if i did... this!"
bdubs almost forgets to start coughing, too focused on joel's hand resting on his shoulder. cough. "yeah--! look-" cough. "-see? look at what you've done!"

Summary
The Bishops established a near-perfect system in Dema. Routine, monotony, and structure, it all works to numb the citizens, while Vialism breeds devotion and desire for Glory through means of self-destruction. It’s almost perfect, but a few still slip through the cracks.
One citizen sees Vialism as a means to an end. A way to escape the slot she’s been put in, to find some semblance of comfort in her short life. Another sees it as a burden — a duty placed on his shoulders by a higher power he barely understands. But one thing they agree on is that the Concrete City isn’t their home, but their prison. And someone on the outside is trying to light the way for escape.

this fic has been so amazing to read
a journey for sure
it's bittersweet to see it end but it's been a really good time
i'll probably remember this one for a while
thank you
(also all the references in this fic had me screaming, i saw most of them and froke out)
i liked the way you wrote it all. like the worldbuilding and the slipping between worlds and the relationships between characters
the scene where tyclancy teaches projection torch the drums during good day dema was really nice
and in the real world where they threw snowballs at each other and the letter from torch
the first few chapters where tyler first enters dema were really interesting too; to see the inside of the city and how it functions
honestly this fic as a whole was (and is) really really awesome
