Work Text:
Finally, after months of Sukuna's encouragement and training to tap Megumi's potential (and a little bit of threatening his friends, teachers and everyone he holds dear), he was able to give Sukuna what he most desired: a body.
Although.. it wasn't quite what he had hoped for…
"Fushiguro Megumi!" Sukuna roared, "what is this?!!"
Megumi looked at the fluffy pink paw he was holding up in the air, "toe beans", he deadpanned to the King of Curses.
Later in Megumi's room, his fellow classmates were introduced to the new, feline version of Yuuji's curse.
"Awww!!!" Nobara and Yuuji squealed at the sight of the King of Curses loafed up on Megumi's bed.
"He's evil, but like… nya" Yuuji snickered, making a little paw motion with his hands.
Nobara could hardly hold back her laughter as she joined in, "like… nya"
Sukuna's fluffy tail was slashing through the air and all four of his red eyes were glaring at the two as they danced around the room making cat noises. "I will relish bringing them a slow and painful death," he hissed, just loud enough that Megumi could hear.
Megumi huffed a quiet laugh and the King turned his piercing gaze upon him, "don't think you are safe, Fushiguro Megumi. I will rip you limb from limb, disembowel you and bathe in your-" Megumi reached his hand to him, "what are you-" he said, cut off as Megumi began to scritch under Sukuna's chin. "How dare you touch me, fool! I am the King of Curses, the Double Faced Specter, a Plight on Humanity! You shall know your place!"
A small smile tugged at the corner of Megumi's lips as he continued to scritch, and started to feel a rumbling in his hand.
Sukuna's eyes shot open just as he was starting to relax into the pets, "what is this? What am I doing?"
"You're purring, Sukuna," Megumi said patiently. "I can stop petting you if you want."
"No," Sukuna said, settling down and getting more comfortable, "I will allow you to continue, human."
Megumi chuckled softly as the King of Curses and main enemy of Jujutsu Sorcerers purred on his bed, falling asleep.
"Megumi!" He turned around with a sigh at the familiar voice, "whatcha got there?" Gojo pointed to the giant pink cat on his shoulder, not trying very hard to hide his amusement.
"Ryomen Sukuna," Megumi replied to his teacher with the same disinterested tone as if he were talking about the weather.
Gojo squealed with delight, clapping his hands together. "So what Yuuji and Nobara said is true! How delightful!" He leaned in closer to Sukuna's face, and even though Megumi couldn't see the cat's face, from his tension and the growl emanating from him, he knew all four of his eyes were looking at Gojo with murderous intent.
"You're so cute now, Sukuna!" He said, reaching his hand out to pet him.
Sukuna struck at him, landing a hit on his hand and drawing blood. "Don't you dare touch me, six eyes!" he hissed.
Gojo beamed, unperturbed, "still feisty I see!" He turned to Megumi, "I assume you've got this under control?" Megumi nodded. "Good!" He put his hands in his pockets and walked away, calling back over his shoulder, "be a good boy, Sukuna!"
Sukuna was fuming, sharp claws digging into Megumi's shoulder, "when I get a new body I'm not sure if I'll kill him or the brats first."
Megumi gently grabbed one of Sukuna's murder mittens, trying to ease his claws' hold on his skin, "You can think about that later, but could you lighten up on the claws? I don't want to be bleeding through my shirt when we get sushi."
"Fine," Sukuna said, releasing his claws, "I will plan their demise later. Now get me sushi."
They sat in a park to eat their meal, a necessity considering most restaurants don't allow cats to dine at their tables. Megumi opened Sukuna's sashimi and placed it in front of him as he tucked into his own sushi. They ate in silence until a stray cat sauntered over to them.
It was a friendly little thing, and rubbed up against Megumi's leg, buttering him up for some fish. But before Megumi could reach down to offer his hand there was a yowl from next to him and a pink paw lashed out at the intruder. The gray cat backed away, looking up at him. Sukuna sat imperiously, glaring down his nose at the stray, "know your place, feline," and with that the other cat dashed off. With a little hmph Sukuna turned back to his food, not seeing the amusement on Megumi's face.
That night, as Megumi was reading in bed before going to sleep, an oppressive weight leapt onto his chest, knocking the wind out of him. With a huff he put the book down to glare at Sukuna's four eyes, staring him in the face. "Sukuna, you're heavy, get off."
"Give me a different body," Sukuna demanded, as if he hadn't heard Megumi's complaint.
Megumi scowled, "and why should I do that?"
"Megumi," he started , "I could give you anything and everything you desire. Money, power- I would even leave your friends alive, as much as it would pain me to do so."
"Right now what I want is for you to get off of my chest."
Sukuna huffed, but acquiesced, still staring at him as he loafed by his side. "What is it that you want, Megumi, what is your greatest desire?" Those four ruby eyes bearing into him, demanding that he relent even as his voice was soft and cajoling. "I can give it to you, as long as I have my body back."
Sighing, Megumi ran a hand over his face, "to be honest, I don't know how to reverse this, so your bribes aren't going to work."
Sukuna's eyes narrowed, trying to determine if he was lying or not. He eventually huffed, and walked to the foot of the bed, "it's no matter, I believe in you, Megumi. I know you won't disappoint me."
It seems like he would have to endure this new body for a while yet. But all in all, it could be worse, he thought as he curled up, drifting off to sleep to dream of death, destruction and chaos.
