    Broken things are often discarded. They lose all their value at the sign of the first shallow crack. They lose their purpose. Only pieces remain of what was once something beautiful.

    Tommy is used to this word.

    Broken.

    A broken family.
    Broken hearts.
    A broken boy.

    He lives in the world people would describe as broken. Yelling, fights and hatred. A house full of blame and self loathing.

    He was only a child when he learnt the word. A small child learning that reality is broken. That life isnt fair.
    Not for Tommy.
    He was broken with no escape. No glue to piece himself back together. The child - almost adult - surviving 13 years of broken, finally shatters.
