Work Text:
Sachi would rarely be in a mood like the one she is now. This mood being, complete tranquility.
She took careful note of the surroundings: The sunlight leaking through the blinds, preventing total darkness although the lights were turned off. The quiet running of the ceiling fan. The slight mess and clutter that was her apartment. It was all so calming, making it difficult to fight falling asleep in the middle of the day.
She wants to cherish this moment with Punpun just like all of them. He lays in her bed next to her, holding her hand while completely still. She focuses intently on her breathing, the steady inhale and exhale through her chest. She doesn’t know how much time has passed, but it doesn’t matter too much to her.
She tosses over to her side, Punpun’s hand remaining locked in her own. She faces him, admiring the features of his face. “Punpun, can you say something?” She requests. Her tone matched the atmosphere; calm, gentle.
“I don’t know what to talk about,” He replies dully.
“I don’t care what you choose to talk about,” Sachi assures. “I just want to talk to you.”
Punpun remains silent, staring at the ceiling. Although, Sachi doesn’t look away.
“What do you think of God?” He blurts out unexpectedly.
“Well,” Sachi sighs, struggling to collect her thoughts. “He could be real, he could not be. He could be the influence to everything, he could have no influence at all and everything is just chance. We’ll never really know, so anyone’s thoughts on this could be right.”
Punpun feels like he didn’t get a direct answer. What does she think herself though? He refrains from asking more, afraid of pushing too far. Maybe, she was trying to not offend, but that would be unlike Sachi.
“And you?”
“I don’t know.”
Sachi also refrains from asking more. There’s no need, anyways. She just wants to stay with him a bit longer.
