Chapter Text
Tommy has an obsession with escaping. Escaping to a universe that didn't have Phil or Techno or Wilbur in it. He just wanted love and no one gave it to him.
Tommy wasn't always a troubled child. Though he always wanted attention, Tommy never got in trouble. That was until Wilbur and Techno left.
The touch-deprived teen sat in the bathroom with a spray paint can in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Tommy didn't like Vapes they were too unoriginal for him. They were... bland, now cigarettes he could smoke a pack a day if he wanted to. He knew that if Wilbur found out about his addiction he'd curse him out. Searching his room for everything that yelled "I'm dangerous" but Wilbur was in Brighton. Nowhere near Oregon.
Now when Tommy was born Phil loved him. The platinum blonde hair he had when he was a baby was just like Phil's. Phil loved him so much because Tommy was his first blood child ever. But with having a child comes consequences. Phil had a hint of hate for Tommy when he heard the loud beep of the heart monitor. Doctors pushed Phil out of the room with young Tommy, still in his hands.
Phil sat outside the door listening to the doctors rush around his beloved wife, Kristin's room. Young Tommy sat silently tugging on the black button attached to Phil's shirt. Wilbur and Techno were rushed to Phil by a nurse who rushed in to help the doctors who swarmed Kristin. Phil immediately shoved Tommy into Wilbur's hands. Wilbur held his younger brother lightly as he tried to distract himself from what was actually happening.
Kristin died that day due to blood loss. Phil from that day never celebrated Tommy's birthday calling it the annual worst day ever. When Tommy tried to celebrate his birthday Phil rejected it immediately. Even when Wilbur wanted to just take Tommy to dinner Phil told them no. Techno left the day after Kristin's death. Techno was a momma's son and Kristin's death affected him a lot. He left and didn't tell anyone living in L.A. for the rest of his days.
Wilbur though stayed to try and help Phil take care of Tommy. Wilbur became Tommy's actual father figure. Wilbur though also left. Leaving Tommy and Phil by themselves. Wilbur had got into an art school all the way in Brighton. Farthest away, Tommy was 12 then.
Tommy is 16 now, he got into graffiti at 14 and over the years ended up filling all the bathrooms at his school with graffiti. the school stopped caring about a few weeks allowing the boy to do it knowing he wouldn't stop. The school started calling him Red chaos for his original mark which was a black, white, and red signature he made. no one knew it was actually him doing it so that's what they named him. Red chaos had been the talk of the school for about a year before they all got used to it. Loving his graffiti and style. There's even an Instagram page about it that posts all his newest visuals.
Tommy called his art visuals because that's what they were to him. Some were of him being alone all his life while others were of his father scolding him for grades. His newest visual was a B+ with just an x on top of it. Last week Tommy had gotten his report card. Tommy remembered Phil scolding him over getting all c's so Tommy tried his hardest to make Phil happy. He had gotten all A's except one B+ which when Phil saw it told him to do better and went back to work. Making Tommy go back to his dreadful room.
Phil had a big house for no reason. Making Tommy's loneliness worse. Usually, you'd be able to hear a person talking through a normal home but since they owned a mansion Tommy never heard anyone talk. The hallways echoed with his lonely footsteps.
Tommy hated school too. He remembered specifically that when he met his friend Eryn that his voice came out raspy. He hadn't spoken all weekend since Phil was out of the state. A kid had heard him making fun of his voice. Eryn stood up for him though making it to the top of Tommy's friend list right next to his pet spider shroud and his pet moth clementine. Yea not a long list but Tommy liked not having many friends. He didn't have to keep up with a lot of people. The way he liked it.
Though when Tommy became captain of the soccer team in his junior year he started to make more friends. People from the team were always talking to him becoming friends with a bunch of boys on his team. Today Tommy asked Phil to come to his game. Phil responded back "what time is it?" Which Tommy just said "5" Phil then got Tommy's hopes up saying "I'll be there." Tommy was unbelievably happy throughout the days. Telling his friends his dad was coming to his game. The first game his dad would ever see.
Tommy ended up staying after school that day. The game was a home game so tom just headed over to the gas station across the street with his friends to get food. Then they started to do warm-ups. Tommy was so happy to finally have Phil come to a game to see how good Tommy is. Phil would be proud of him.
