Summary:

What if Suki took Porsha Home?

Work Text:

Note: This is just a little family fluff that is a separate entry from my series, The Moon Family.

"NOW THE WHOLE WORLD THINKS I HAVE A TALENTLESS LOSER FOR A DAUGHTER!"

Suki's heart broke as the wails of the teen wolf bawling her eyes out on the couch in front of her father resonated throughout his office. And the very sight of Porsha with her face in her hands filled Suki with a deep urge to just run to the girl, to pull her into her arms and comfort her. But she knew she couldn't, not unless she wanted to draw the attention of her employer's rage on her as well.

"Take her home!"

Upon hearing this, Suki suddenly found herself with an idea. Before she could even stop herself, her feet were moving toward Porsha, immediately shooing away the cheetah bodyguard as he reached for Porsha. But, much to her relief, the guard didn't put up any fight, and this could be in part that he also believed that the treatment Porsha was receiving was very unfair. And even as Crystal demanded that Moon be brought to him, Suki saw to it that she got Porsha out of the room as quickly as possible.

And the moment the massive double door closed behind them, Suki pulled Porsha close.

"Shhhh, shhhh," she soothed, letting the young wolf wrap her arms tightly around her as she tried to offer as much comfort as she could, her own hands gently rubbing the younger females back and raking her fingers through the grey fur on Porsha's head.

"H-HE H-H-HATE'S M-ME!" Porsha sobbed out, her words coming out in a garbled mess as she struggled to catch her breath. And as Suki did her best to calm her down, she couldn't help but find that she was fighting tears of her own. Because in truth, she just could never stand to see Porsha so unhappy.

"No, Sweetie, No," she cooed. And while she wanted to give the usual "he's just under a lot of stress" spiel, she knew it wasn't true. So, instead, she opted just take Porsha home, using the key that Crystal had given her in case he needed her to get something. And after walking Porsha to her room, rather than take her immediately to her bed, Suki instead led her to the bathroom off to the side, Porsha soon gripping the edge of the counter as Suki turned the cold-water tab on the sink. And it was only when Porsha felt the cool liquid it her face that she realized how warm it had gotten from crying.

"Shhh," she soothed, dampening a rag in the cold water before placing it on the back of Porsha's neck, the young wolf's sobs becoming quieter, replaced with a few gasps and hiccups as result.

"That's it," Suki cooed, "there you go."

And once Suki was satisfied that Porsha had calmed down, she removed the clothe from the back of her neck, moving to sit Porsha down on the pink furry toilet seat as she began to drying off her face with a towel, her eyes giving a caring gaze as she looked at the bloodshot eyes of the still whimpering girl.

"Come on," she cooed once more as she helped Porsha to her feet, leading the girl to her bed, helping her in after she had the wolf remove her jacket and shoes to be more comfortable. And as the tired wolf laid her head on the pillow, she looked up to the saluki beside her, offering a sad smile in gratitude.

"Now," Suki said, returning the smile, "you just lay down for a bit and calm down, okay."

"Okay," Porsha responded in a small whisper. But, just as Suki turned to leave, Porsha said something that totally caught her off guard.

"Love You, Mom."

Looking back to the melancholy wolf, Suki's wide eyes landed on the sweet smile of the teen who she had just now realized saw her as a mother figure. And it was at that moment, for the first time, she realized how much of a parent she had been to Porsha than her own father. And so, making her way back to the young girl, Suki sat on the edge of the bed, before leaning down, cupping Porsha's cheeks and placing a tender kiss on her forehead.

"I love you too, Sweetie," she replied after pulling away, sending Porsha one last loving smile before leaving her room. And before Porsha knew, she felt the pull of sleep start to take over as she clutched a pillow closely to her chest. And she must have dozed off hard, because she eventually found herself be startled awake by a loud, brash…

"RISE AND SHINE, SWEETHEART!"
