Work Text:
Mobius looked at the tall stack of paperwork in front of him and sighed. He had been working all afternoon in his apartment, trying to get his work done. It was late at night, and he had barely made a dent in the pile.
He reluctantly pulled the top sheet from the stack and started filling it out. He didn’t want to do this, but the papers were due by tomorrow.
About half an hour in, his eyes started to get fuzzy and drooped every few seconds. He shook his head, trying to clear his head, but it was no use.
His head dropped down onto the table and his eyes closed. He awoke a few minutes to a hand on his shoulder, shaking him gently.
He sat up, blinking blearily. Loki was standing next to him, a concerned look on their face. “Mobius, you’ve been at this for hours,” Loki said. “Come to bed, you should get some rest.”
Mobius shook his head and looked back at the papers, but the letters blurred and shifted before his eyes. Maybe he was more tired than he thought.
He slowly stood up, his muscles sore from sitting in one position for a while. Loki smiled. “Come sleep,” they said. They put a soft hand on his back and gently led him to the bedroom.
Mobius walked slowly to the room and laid down on the bed, his body exhausted more than he had realized. Loki turned off the light and climbed into bed with him, putting their arms around him.
Mobius turned on his side, pressing his back to Loki’s front. He sighed in contentment. Loki’s breath tickled his neck, and Mobius turned over, facing them.
Loki smiled when they saw his face. “You are beautiful, darling, even when you’re tired,” they said, and kissed him gently. Mobius smiled and kissed them back, happy to be with his beloved.
