How to Keep Falco's Attention
The Marley military had just come back from another successful battle with the Mid-East army. The Marley military had few casualties on their side thanks to the Titans on their side and the fact that they've been researching more about their adversaries. Many people saw this as a cause for celebration, but one of the younger Warriors in Training was not happy. In fact, she was pretty annoyed as she sat on a crate, growling at the sight in front of her with her cheeks puffed.
This was Gabi Braun, who was considered one of the best Warriors in Training that Marley had, and she was annoyed as hell. Gabi was watching her friend and crush, Falco Grice, talking to a couple of other girls in the Warrior in Training program. Normally, Gabi wouldn't have a problem with this, as Falco did do something awesome worthy of praise; he was able to take several landmines from the ground of the warzone, and throw it at the other side, where nobody got hit but the smoke screens caused by the explosions allowed Marley to get an extra level of advantage.
That wasn't the problem; the problem was that Falco had been talking with these girls for ten minutes and hadn't even noticed that Gabi was still waiting for him. Gabi couldn't help but sit there with her arms as crossed as the look on her face while occasionally letting out a growl. While Gabi was still staring at Falco, Pieck Finger, the Cart Titan, came walking out of the train with her boyfriend, Porco Galliard but stopped when she saw the young Warrior glaring a hole through Falco, or at least, that's what Pieck thought she was trying to do. Pieck whispered something into Porco's ear, who responded with a nod before walking off without her, allowing Pieck to walk over to Gabi, and lean in next to her.
"Hi, Gabi."
"Hi, Mrs. Pieck." Gabi didn't turn her attention away from Falco, which didn't seem to bother Pieck as she stood her ground and smiled at her, before turning to see Falco, continuing his conversation with the two female Warrior candidates.
"Falco seems pretty popular, huh? It only seems like yesterday when he was just a quiet little boy," Pieck said, reminiscing about the times Falco would often hide behind his older brother, Colt's legs when he first came into the Warrior program.
"Yeah, it's great," Gabi responded while gritting her teeth. Gabi was furious that it had now been 15 minutes, and Falco was still virtually ignoring her so that she could talk to those dumb girls. Pieck chuckled while patting Gabi on the head, who ignored the affection due to her anger at Falco. Pieck sighed before shaking her head with a smile on her face before turning on her heels and heading to the gate.
"Well, I have to go, Gabi. Porco's probably worried sick about me," Pieck said as Gabi finally looked away from Falco, and raised an eyebrow at what Pieck said.
"Why would he be worried? You've only been away from him for a minute," Gabi asked. She knew that Porco and Pieck were always together and that Porco always liked to be protective of his girlfriend, who due to her Titan, was arguably weaker than a lot of the other Titan shifters since she wasn't exactly a fighter.
"Porco's just worried about me since I can be kind of fragile sometimes. It's as if he drops everything so that he can make sure I'm OK," Pieck explained as she started walking to the gate, leaving Gabi to think while turning her attention back to Falco.
"Drop everything, huh?" Gabi asked herself before a little smirk appeared on her face. Gabi noticed that the back of her leg was covered with a giant bruise. It didn't hurt, but Gabi nodded to herself, realizing that she had the perfect 'injury'. Gabi stood up off of the crate, and then 'lost her balance' before falling on all fours, with one of her hands shooting towards her bruised right leg.
"Ow! Owwww!" Gabi moaned in pain, massaging the back of her leg. Immediately after those 'moans of pain' came out of her mouth, Falco turned his attention away from the girls talking to him and jogged over to Gabi.
"Gabi! Are you OK!? What happened!?" Falco asked, looking all over Gabi for any obvious injuries or bruises. Falco's eyes stopped at the back of Gabi's right leg, noticing the giant purple bruise that was there.
"Yeah Falco, I was waiting for you, and when I got up to check on you, my leg just…exploded in pain."
"Where did that bruise come from!?"
"I tripped on a rock on the battlefield, and I guess the adrenaline and excitement about winning kept the pain out of my mind until now," Gabi said, mumbling moans of pain while continuing to massage her leg. Falco took a hold of Gabi's hand and helped her back to her feet, and Gabi kept up the ruse more by staggering on her feet and not putting too much pressure on her right leg.
"Gabi, I am so sorry for making you wait for so long, I was just talking to a couple of friends over there! I wouldn't have made you wait if I knew you were hurt!" Falco apologized, causing Gabi to blush. Gabi then turned her face away from Falco, pretending to tend her leg as the girls Falco was talking to tried to regain his attention. However, Falco was so focused on Gabi's 'injury' that he didn't even notice that the girls were trying to go back to talking to him.
"It's OK, Falco. I honestly didn't even notice myself until I tried standing up," Gabi said with a smile on her face. Gabi, despite being happy that Falco wasn't talking to those girls anymore, she felt bad that Falco was feeling guilty about ignoring her 'injury'.
"Still, I'm gonna help take you to the hospital. I don't know how bad it is, and I want to make sure nothing too severe is wrong with your leg," Falco explained before picking Gabi up, putting her on his back, and then turning to his right to walk to the hospital. Gabi blushed at the contact with Falco, but she briefly turned to the girls who were shocked that they were being ignored and stuck her tongue out at them before burying her face in Falco's shoulder. Despite her mixed feelings about tricking Falco, Gabi couldn't help but gloat that she had gotten Falco's attention back.
"Thanks, Falco," Gabi whispered in his ears. Gabi was not able to see Falco's face, but Falco's face was blushing just as much as Gabi was. What Gabi didn't know was that Falco also had feelings for the little brunette firecracker and those feelings were the same ones that Gabi felt for Falco. However, despite him knowing what his feelings were, he didn't exactly know what to say, especially since Gabi seemed focused on their mission as Warriors in Training.
"N…no problem, Gabi," Falco said, his voice slightly cracking at the beginning as he continued making his way to the nearby hospital, blushing as he felt Gabi's nose nuzzling against the side of his neck. As Falco made his way to the hospital, both he and Gabi were thinking about their future, and when the best time to truly confess to each other would be, wanting to make sure that they got the answer that they were seeking. But for now, both Falco and Gabi were content with how things are, after all, they had all the time in the world to let their true feelings be known.
