Stede let out a surprised noise before pulling away and looking at Ed. “What in the world was that?”
They had been in the middle of, shall we say, an intimate reconnection, or at least the beginnings of one. A warm embrace in Stede’s captain’s quarters, which were now rather barren, had slowly morphed into chaste kisses, and it had just edged past the line of impropriety when Stede had felt something metal inside his mouth.
“What?”
“I could have sworn something metal hit my teeth just now,” Stede said as his tongue felt around for anything loose inside his mouth.
Ed paused, looking momentarily confused, before an amused smirk spread across his face. “It’s an accessory.”
“A what now?”
