Work Text:
Under his
bold
brash
smile
under his
easy
self-confident
carriage
Jim Kirk’s
heart
is a fragile
thing.
He guards it
carefully
but on occasion
Spock catches a glimpse
deep
down
in ocean blue
eyes.
Is it the human half
of himself
telling Spock
to protect
this most
intimate part
of his captain
his friend?
Or do even
Vulcans
eventually
fall in love?
Jim smiles at him
and his body
responds–
slightly elevated heart rate
extra blood
and the resultant
heat
sent to cheeks and palms.
One could
argue
this is only
physical
but when he
returns
Jim’s
smile
Spock
feels
a lift
inside
that can only be
happiness.
