"I should take you to Chagall Café one of these days."
Ren tilted his head, looking up from the coffee he was preparing. Minato wasn't looking at him, sure, but he knew the other had been speaking to him.
"What? As a date?" he joked, chuckling softly. "I don't-"
"Yes, as a date." Minato was looking at him now, smirking for a moment before his face went back to its usual neutral mask. "The café might not be around, now that I think about it. It's been a while. . ."
Right. Ren sometimes forgot how displaced in time Minato was.
"Hey." Ren ensured his voice was firm enough to grab the other's attention, meeting his gaze. "Even if it's not there, it's still a date."
The faintest blush appeared on Minato's cheeks. "W-wait, hang on-!"
"Nope, no taking it back now!" Ren grinned. "It's a date. One where you show me around the place you know best. If anything has changed, you have every right to complain loudly about it."
There was silence for a moment before Ren heard what he decided then and there was the most wonderful sound in the world.
The sound of Minato's laughter.
It seemed to fill LeBlanc, leaving Ren wanting to hear that sound more and more often.
"Okay," Minato finally said. "A date to Tatsumi Port Island that will be me trying to show you the best spots and lamenting the ones that are now gone."
"It won't be the last," Ren added.
