The sun was just beginning to filter through the curtains and Mycroft was far too comfortable to want to get up.
He turned and leaned on his elbow to look at his still sleeping lover.
Mycroft couldn't hold back a fond smile.
Even though they had been together for a little while now, he sometimes still found it hard to believe the happiness that had fallen upon him.
Unable to resist any longer, he reached out his free hand to Greg. The contact was light, just a brush as he ran his fingers over the smooth golden skin of which he now knew every plane, every hollow, every scar..
He was so handsome, even if Greg would blush to hear it said aloud, much to Mycroft's delight. He had flaws too, but there was a perfection in Greg's flaws, and Mycroft loved every one of them.
But then again, he was biased because he loved everything about Greg.
Mycroft sighed softly, as his hand slid up Greg's thigh.
He ran his fingers over the skin, inch by inch, tracing the curve of his hip.
Little by little, his fingers climbed higher following the small bulge of his belly, the hollow of his navel.
Mycroft's fingers continued to move forward, brushing against his lover's torso, then his arm, further along his shoulder to his neck where he felt his pulse throbbing against his fingers.
His fingers traveled further into the short strands at the back of his neck where he buried them, playing gently with the strands of hair as Greg stretched gently, a smile on his lips.
"Hmmm...am I dead?"
Greg's voice was slurred, drunk with sleep, and his eyes were still closed.
Mycroft carried on running his fingers over his skin, pleased with the goose bumps he felt rising under his touch.
He chuckled softly, "No, you're alive and well, why this question?"
"Well for a moment I thought I was in heaven."
Greg opened his eyes when he heard Mycroft laugh softly.
"Too sappy?"
"Absolutely, but that's part of your charm, don't change a thing," Mycroft replied as he resumed his caresses.
Greg leaned into his hand, "Wha - " Greg started, but paused with a wide yawn before resuming. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing," Mycroft breathed in response, brushing his fingers through the hair at the base of Greg's neck, before leaning in to press a chaste kiss to the tip of his lover's nose.
"Nothing," he repeated, his voice softer as he brushed a kiss to the corner of Greg's mouth. "I was just watching you sleep."
Greg's smile turned playful, "You aren't just watching..."
Mycroft shrugged, "What do you expect, when I see something beautiful, I can't help but touch."
Greg snorted, "And I am the sappy one?"
Mycroft silenced him with a kiss and said in a falsely threatening tone, "I forbid you to tell anyone!"
Greg kissed him back and retorted, "Like anyone would believe me if I said that Mycroft Holmes, Mr. British Government, is a sap. But I don't mind because it's amazing to be the only one who knows that secret."
Mycroft's face became serious again, "You're the only one Greg, you're the only one who knows this side of me."
Greg kissed him again before replying, "And that's just perfect."
