Eddie lay in his bed, listening to the annoying neighbor next door bang away at his drums. He groaned and shoved a pillow over his head, hoping to muffle the noise. It did nothing, of course.
Just his luck.
Today had already been a bad day. Well, not necessarily a bad day, but a lot of little bad things had piled up to make the entire day bad. The drums stopped, and Eddie breathed out a sigh of relief, but then they started back up again, with loud rock music now accompanying them.
Eddie let out a groan and closed his eyes tightly. He could feel Venom awakening inside him. Eddie? What’s wrong, Eddie? they asked. Eddie grimaced. “What isn’t?” he replied.
Venom seemed concerned. They wrapped tendrils of themself around Eddie’s shoulders, squeezing gently. Eddie sighed. It was like a shoulder massage, except the masseuse knew exactly where to squeeze and how hard.
Much better than a regular shoulder massage.
We do not want you to be in distress, Eddie.
Eddie smiled. “Thanks, V.”
