Nothing but the truth

Summary:

Tommy isn’t sure he’s ever been kidnapped by people this stupid before, and he has tons of experience being kidnapped as the son of a famous gang leader and all.

Work Text:

Tommyinnit was no stranger to dangerous situations. He was no stranger to being kidnapped, to being tied up, and questioned. He was, however, unfamiliar with the level of stupidity this group of kidnappers seemed to reach.

The knots keeping him in place are mediocre, the chair he's tied to seems like it would break if he jostled a bit too much, and Tommy can tell by the way they handle their guns that they're new at this. Maybe this kidnapping is just a means of initiation in whatever gang has got him this time. Honestly, Tommy must've had at least a million opportunities to get away by now, but being kidnapped again seemed like the better option over going to school.

Their base was shitty too, dingy. Dark in a way that made Tommy roll his eyes at the cliche of it, smells awful and Tommy assumes they're near a sewer system somewhere underground.

"What do your parents do for a living?" They ask. Tommy can barely believe they just kidnapped some random kid without knowing his parents' jobs. Then again, maybe they just assumed he was well off because Techno liked to keep him covered in jewelry. Fashion or whatever, a statement of power.

"They run a bar downtown." A half-truth, the cover-up of an infamous gang, the legal part of their income. The two men who were questioning him share a glance for a moment. Tommy can guess what they're thinking, there are only so many bars downtown, and most of them are gang run. 'Running a bar downtown' is practically code for running a gang at this point. The only tricky part is figuring out which gang.

"Who's your dad, kid?" The one closest to him speaks, pointing his gun in Tommy's direction.

"Not a kid." Tommy scowls. The man rolls his eyes, and Tommy can at least recognize that his life is in danger. "Philza Minecraft." He answers.

"Your real dad," the man stresses  Tommy just raises his eyebrows. He knew where the doubt was coming from. Philza Minecraft was the most notorious gang leader in town. 'The Angel of Death' they called him, for the amount of dead bodies he left in his wake.

"He is my real dad."

"Okay, sure." The man in the back speaks up, grabbing his partner's sleeve and dragging him out of the room. "Stay" he commands, like Tommy is a dog. Tommy scoffs.

The moment the men are out of the room, Tommy slips his ropes off and stretches, he's not certain how long he's been here but it felt like hours. He would stand but he's not entirely sure he can undo the ropes tying his legs to the chair without the chair crumbling into dust. Seriously, shittiest kidnappers ever. 0/10 would not be kidnapped again. Even the last kidnappers, who had the itchiest rope Tommy had ever been tied with and the worst driving holy shit-, were a better experience. They, at least, could keep him restrained properly. If Tommy had to rank his kidnapping experience this one would be at the bottom of the list, right above Wilbur making him listen to him explain how much he hates anteaters again. Even if Tommy wasn't physically restrained when that happened, there was definitely no escaping it. Still, Tommy slips his ropes back on, might as well see where this goes.

A beat passes before one of the men comes back inside, Tommy instantly wonders where the other has gone. Can't be a good sign. The man is staring at Tommy with his arms crossed, his gun closed in his holster.

"I'll give you one more chance," He starts, "Who's your dad?"

"...really?" Tommy makes a face. "Philza- fucking- minecraft? Only man ever, old, ugly hat? Does that ring a bell to you or are you actually stupid?"

"Listen, kid-" The man begins, obviously annoyed.

"not a fucking kid!" Tommy interrupts. The man huffs.

"You're obviously not going to tell us the truth. So, we'll have to take more extreme measures." He opens the door and in comes his partner, gun also in a holster, and in his hand a piece of fabric Tommy guesses to be a blindfold. 'more extreme measures' just means torture, Tommy knows from experience. So when the blindfold is put over his eyes, he's untied from the chair with a loud creak, and he hears the door open he assumes he's being moved to a torture chamber or something of the sort.

He drags his feet purposely, fuck them if they thought he would cooperate with kidnappers. They're shoving him along the hall until one of them has enough and roughly grabs his arm to pull him along. Tommy takes a deep breath, listening closely for other people. When he decides that there isn't anyone else in the hall, he acts.

In one swift motion, he lets the ropes fall off of his hands, elbows the man holding him in the stomach, grabs his arm and head, and finally flips him over his shoulder. When he hears the loud thud of a body hitting the floor at full force, he removes his blindfold to see the other man struggling with his holster. Tommy walks over and, just as the man manages to open the holster, he punches. When the man stumbles backward, he punches again.  and again. until the man is flush against a wall and his face is blossoming with new bruises. Eventually, the man passes out, residual blood on Tommy's knuckles. Tommy grabs the gun from the open holster and walks away. Distantly, he can hear an alarm blaring out and a small commotion. This is how it should be, the world is right, balance is restored, and Tommy is done with this kidnapping. He just needs to find the exit.

Problem: Tommy may or may not have a shit sense of direction. He also doesn't know where the fuck he is.

So, when he reaches the edge of the hall, he turns left. New hallway, new Tommy. And new Tommy wants to open that big door he sees a few doors down. It looks all cool and sci-fi and shit, probably the cleanest door in the whole building so obviously they're hiding something. He walks over and easily and notices it has been left open, these people really suck at this whole underground gang thing.

Inside the room is a large, old computer system, also left unlocked. Maybe it has something to do with the still-running alarm in some other part of the building, seems like the kind of thing that would pull people away from important illegal activity. Tommy sees a USB sticking out of the port, don't mind if he does. He grabs the mouse and clicks on the icon in the taskbar indicating the USB. When he opens it he sees a bunch of spreadsheets. Filled with anything and everything. Drug formulas, opposing gangs' info, police routes, blackmail, etc. Perhaps they weren't as bad of a gang as Tommy originally thought. He closes the window, ejects the USB, and shoves it into his pocket. They were useful for one thing, at least.

Then he checks some of the other files until he finds what he was looking for: blueprints.

Looking at the blueprints he can see that there is an exit at the end of the hall, but a little further away is the main lobby and exit. He debates for a moment before deciding that he is a big man, and big men use the main exit to escape their kidnappers. He closes the window and shuts off the computer before promptly throwing it on the ground. He stomps on it for good measure. That'll teach them to mess with The Tommyinnit

He walks out of the room confidently and makes another left. As he walks, the alarm gets louder and louder. There are more people around too, most just rush past him. It's a little uncanny. People are screaming about a break-in, searching for better weapons, and such. Most people are too busy running to really try and stop him. It makes escaping kind of boring. Usually when Tommy let himself get kidnapped escaping is more fun. Usually, his kidnappers are better at their job he supposes.

To his disappointment, it doesn't take much time or effort to get to the main exit. The main lobby is a much wider and brighter room than the hallways. It is, however, covered in blood. Half of the floor is littered with dead bodies and suddenly it makes sense why everyone was running away. Tommy doesn't really care he just wants to get out of here, the alarm is starting to give him a headache. When he looks to see the perpetrator he's met with the familiar sight of an ugly striped green and white bucket hat. Phil is wearing blood-stained robes and smiling at him warmly. This scene has happened before, Tommy was honestly a little tired of being 'recused' by someone every time he was 'kidnapped.' He could handle himself for fucks sake.

"I had it covered," He scowls and Phil's smile widens as Tommy approaches him, stepping over all the dead bodies. He'll probably need new shoes since the ones he's wearing are getting covered in blood. Not that Phil would have any problem buying him new ones, fucking tory.

"I'm sure you did, mate."

Notes:

This is just because I felt like writing a small gang au story. It’s not the best but I didn’t spend all that much time on it either. Thanks for reading anyways ! As always any advice or comments are appreciated !
