Olive opened her eyes and noticed Adam fully awake next to her watching her carefully. "You are staring, you creep!" "Not my fault you sleep so long, besides I just like waking up next to you" he chuckled and kissed the tip of her nose. Olive grinned "yeah, I like it too. Although" she added yawning and looking at her phone "it's our day off, I was hoping to sleep in next to you for a change". She snuggled up to him and closed her eyes again. "C'mon Olive" he said sitting up "get your lazy ass out of bed, it's a beautiful day, I'm taking you for a hike!"."You can't take me anywhere when I'm asleep" she mumbled and put his pillow over her head. "Of course I can, you forgot my amazing negotiation skills" he said with a mischievous grin and tickled her feet. She squeaked and jumped off the bed fully awake "You will pay for it, you monster!" she giggled and threw a pillow at him. Adam was laughing too, sporting dimples which had Olive melting on the spot. He caught the pillow and threw it back at her. "See? Now you are ready for a hike" he said smugly and pulled her down for a kiss. She put her arms around his neck straddling him. They fell back on the bed "I am but you owe me a coffee with unicorns and rainbows for waking me up so early". "We can get it on the way there, you go get ready and I will pack our hiking gear and lunch".
They left shortly thereafter and arrived at the park before noon. "I love it here, that was a great idea". Olive looked around enjoying the view and the fresh air while Adam quickly checked the map for their hike. He smiled at her and laced their fingers together "I'm glad you like it, let's go".
The trail they had selected took them around a small lake and through a forest. There were no other hikers and Adam and Olive could quietly enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors. After an hour or so they reached a viewpoint. "Adam! This is beautiful! C'mon, let's take pictures! And I want a selfie with you" "With me?" "Yeah, with you. You look so relaxed and happy today that I have to document it, nobody will believe me otherwise". "Maybe I'm having fun with my girlfriend" he said and wrapped his arms around her. He was clearly amused and really did sound relaxed and happy. Olive looked up at him and smiled "A fake one?" she asked playfully. "A very real one" he murmured leaning his forehead on hers "I'm so crazy about you Olive". "The feeling is mutual" she said and kissed him. "So this selfie?" she asked breaking the kiss. "Uhm sure" Adam was a little out of breath but grabbed his phone. She stand on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek. Adam was looking at his phone and squinting. "Perfect!" Olive grinned and took more pictures of the view and some of Adam. "Now I could use a snack." They had lunch at a picnic table and then spent some more time enjoying the view and each other's company.
They had stopped for dinner on the way back and it was dark when they arrived at Adam's place. "So" Adam looked at her "are you staying over or am I taking you to yours?""Hmmm, let me think about it" she was tapping her lips with her index finger pretending to ponder the question "I have ice cream!" he added. "Now we're talking" she laughed and jumped out of the car. "You are so easy to please" he chuckled locking the car "I just need to bait you with some sugary.. Ouch!" he didn't anticipate the elbow "And what are you having? Want me to throw some frozen cauliflower in the blender?""I'll be fine, smart ass" he said closing the door behind them "As long as you are here". He pulled her for a kiss and they forgot all about ice cream for some time.
