“Baji would never Hanma Shuji, he's the first division captain. He wouldn't betray Toman.” Chifuyu said cutting between the two
Hanma gave the boy an unamused glance before turning his gaze back to Baji. “I see you didn't even tell your little second in command. Not that I blame you, he seems.. difficult. Very loyal. But is he more loyal to you or toman?" Hanma laughed. Shuji turned his eyes to Chifuyu “So what will it be? Will you stay with your gang or stay loyal to your captain, huh Matsuno?” He asked him.
Baji looked down at his vice-captain pleading with his eyes but Chifuyu didn't know for what reason to stay out of it and stay with toman or stay with him. But one thing Chifuyu could tell was that he betrayed Toman.

In other words, Baji betrays Toman and Chifuyu is trying to prove his innocence while figuring out if he believes Baji himself. then he hears about a murder plan against Baji, he doesn't know what to do, how will he get Baji back to Toman?
