We open to shots showing off Pahkitew Island in it's glory. Chris interupts the serenity by bursting onto the scene.
CHRIS
'Sup, welcome, tatawaw and any other greetings that you understand. This is Chris MClaen, reality TVs most unreal host, and I'm excited to be presenting the newest season of the acclaimed and world loved: Total Drama. Teenage love it, moral guardians protest it. For this season, we've decided to return to simpler times, and by 'simpler' we mean 'stone age'. For this season, contestants will not only have to perform in intense, humiliating and dangerous challenges to survive, but must also live out in the wild, away from any technology that could guide them. For this season, there is no mess hall, no bathrooms and no outhouse. Contestants will have to fend for themselves, forage their own food and do their own laundry in the wilderness of the most dangerous Island miles away from the western coast of Canada. What lucky kids they are. For this season, we've gathered 14 new faces, a whole new cast of oddballs, wierdos, freaks and noobs for you at home to pity, laugh at and even cheer for as they claw their way to a prize of one million dollars! So relax, pull out a drink, and enjoy the show. This is Total. Drama. Pahkitew Island!
After the opening sequence, we see a jet fly through the air.
int. Jet. day
Zooming inside, we see Shawn being nervous and breathing heavily. Rodney is sitting next to him, concerned. Scarlett is in the seat on Rodney's other side.
RODNEY
Relax pal, we're in good hands, this is a fancy schmancy tv plane. There's no way we can crash.
SCARLETT
He's right, plane crashes are the rarest sort of vehicular mishap. There's at most a 1 out of 456 chance of an accident.
RODNEY
Uh, yeah, yeah what she said.
SCARLETT
Then again, the chances of the network purposefully sabotouging our plane are significantly higher, sitting at 1 out 15. Endangering the cast is an easy way of creating intrigue in the first episode and this very programme has actually blown up a new cast before.
RODNEY
Huh?
SHAWN
I'm not worried about some plane crash, I'm watching out for the UFO's.
RODNEY
(Confused)
The huh?
SHAWN
You know, extraterrestrials here to kidnap us and probe our bodies without our consent. They love to snatch planes over the water, so I'm keeping my eye out so I can warn the pilot.
SCARLETT
(Smugly)
UFO's are completely unverified, all the people who claim to have been abducted are clearly deranged in some way. They use the story of being abducted as a way to cope with the trauma of being assaulted and attacked. This is basic information. After all, they live out in farm lands where there's barely any strong law inforcement.
RODNEY
You mean, like where we're going?
Rodney buckles his seat belt nervously. On the other side of the isle, Amy is bothered by the discussion and turns to her sister.
AMY
Ugh, nerd talk. Samey switch places with me now.
Sammy sighs. They switch, but Amy sees the tall Jasmine next to her and gasps loudly.
JASMKNE
Are you and I going to have a problem?
AMY
(Grabs Sammy)
Switch back, now!
In front of them, Topher and Ella are talking.
TOPHER
Quick, which expression is better for me, the chipper happy face-
(Demonstrates)
, or the smoulder.
(Demonstrates)
ELLA
Oh, Smoulder for sure. How's my hair. I'm trying to show off as someone who could ideally play any age from 15 up.
TOPHER
It looks great. I can't believe I'm so close to meeting Chris Mclean. This is so cool.
ELLA
And I'm going to be on international TV, this could be the start of so many opportunities.
Sugar is sitting across the aisle.
SUGAR
You two keep sweating like that, and you'll be drenched through to your clothes before we even land. You look like a pair of wet pigs in labor in the middle of summer.
ELLA
(Gasps)
Sweet cheese, she's right! We need napkins!
Dave is next to Sugar and is squeezing hand sanitizer out of a bottle.
SUGAR
We've barely been flying for an hour and you've already emptied out a tube of that hand wash crap. What's the deal?
DAVE
I'm just trying to stay clean. I hate germs.
SUGAR
You do realize what show you're on?
DAVE
Hey, just because I don't want to get dirty doesn't mean I can't be a strong competitor. Total Drama is a lot more than just gross out, right?
Sugar shakes her head so Dave turns to Beardo, the large guy sitting to his right.
DAVE
Right?
Beardo is jamming out to music in his headphones and bops his head, oblivious to Dave's question.
DAVE
(Turning back to Sugar)
See, he gets it.
Sky is running laps around the plane when Max trips her. Leonard, sitting on the opposite isle, sees this.
LEONARD
Hey, I saw that!
MAX
Congratulations, you have just witnessed the first official misdeed of this season's heel. And if all goes according to plan, there will be many more to come.
LEONARD
Oh yeah, well if you think the rest of us are going to stand by and let this happen, you've got another thing coming.
(Beat)
Wow, this is just like my 'Fire of the Dungeon' campaign, where I caught on that the simple bard of our party was actually the villain planing to sacrifice us to the flames to win the game.
MAX
(Intrigued)
Really, what did you do?
LEONARD
I had to wait till the perfect moment to call them out, so that the whole party would be on the same side to fight against him.It was a riveting game.
MAX
interesting tactic, I shall keep an eye out for it while I dominate the others. And I shall keep an eye out for you, hero.
LEONARD
I gladly look forward to it, villain.
An announcement goes off.
CHEF
Attention passengers, to your right, you will see the majestic beauty of Pahkitew Island, where you suckers will be staying for the summer.
Everyone crowds to one side of the jet to see the Island. Sammy has a good spot.
JASMINE
It is a sight.
SAMMY
Wow.
AMY
Samey, switch now!
SAMMY
Right, sorry, after you.
Amy pushes others to get a good look.
CHEF
And to your left, you will see your pilot, escaping with a parachute and leaving you behind. His advice: do the same.
Everyone runs to the left and sees Chef jump. Jasmine kicks open the pilots door, only to reveal that there's no one there. Everyone starts panicking!
DAVE
What do we do!? WHAT DO WE DO!?
ELLA
HE SAID TO JUMP TOO!
TOPHER
OH YEAH,SOLID PLAN, LET'S JUST FALL TO OUR DOOM.
SHAWN
GUYS, THERE'S PARACHUTES UNDER THE SEATS.
Sky immediately grabs one, kicks open the emergency exit and jumps down. A red parachute opens for her and she floats on gracefully.
SHAWN
Well, I guess it's safe then.
JASMINE
Alright everyone, grab a parachute and jump. GO! GO! GO!
Shawn jumps first, followed by Ella, Topher and Dave. Leonard gets ready to jump.
LEONARD
In the name of King Rose, I take flight.
He jumps. Max is less willing to go.
MAX
Pff, and just who put you in charge?
JASMINE
Just go!
MAX
And who are you to-
Sugar shoves him off the plane in annoyance.
SUGAR
Move it, Sugar is not gonna die in the first episode!
(She jumps)
Scarlett, Shawn, Sammy, Amy and Beardo jump, leaving Rodney by himself.
JASMINE
We don't have time for this, jump.
RODNEY
OK, but if I die, it'll be on your conscious. (Jumps)
JASMINE
Geronimo!
(Jumps)
ext. Beach. day
The characters float down with the parachutes, but not all have a clean landig. Sky does gymnastics to land safely. Sammy lands well, but Amy falls right on top of her. Dave, Beardo and Sugar land in the water and is excited, Rodney vrushes into the sand of the beach, and Max is trapped in a tree, which Jasmine gets him down from. Leonard pretends to be walking on water, before tripping and splashing.
Chris is at the beach, enjoying a soda.
CHRIS
Oh sweet, you all made it out. Makes this easier for me.
Sometime later, the contestants are lined up on the beach in two groups.
CHRIS
Welcome to Pahktew Island, On my left, are the contestants with green parachutes: Max, Jasmine, Rodney, Topher, Scarlett, Amy and Sammy. You are 'Pimapotew Kinosewak' which is Cree for the 'Majestic Eagles'
SKY
No, It's Cree for the 'floating Samon'.
CHRIS
Oh, well, I guess you're the Floating Salmon then.
Kinosewak is disappointed.
CHRIS
And for the Red parachute people on my right: Dave, Shawn, Sky, Ella, Sugar, Beardo and Leonard. You are now, 'Waneyitahm Maskwak' which is Cree for the 'Fero-
SKY
(Slightly angry)
The 'Confused Bears'?
Chris, tears his notes and turns to Chef.
CHRIS
(Angrily)
This is what you get for using a free online translator.
CHEF
It wasn't in the budget, what do you want me to do?
CHRIS
(Turning to face the teens)
Now, if I can get you to turn you're attention down by the rocks, you will find this season's confessional: A special private space away from it all, for you to vent your frustrations and get all those bad vibes off of you're chest. Use it well.
The confessional is small cave near the shore, it's entrance decorted with seaweed.
Confessional. in
MAX
Uh, what a let down. I was hoping for something more vile. How am I supposed to get across how evil I am when I'm surrounded by seaweed and the pleasant smell of the ocean?
CONFESSIONAL. in
AMY
Nice! I'm so glad I don't have to talk in an outhouse. But then again, a toilet seat backdrop would suit some of these freaks so well.
(Snickers)
Confessional. out
CHRIS
I assume you've all gotten to know each other a bit before landing, which is vital for survival in this game. If your team loses, your teammates will have the chance to vote you off. You better hope you worked on your people skills before coming out her.
(Chuckles)
Someone will be voted off each and every episode. At the end of it all only one player will remain, and that player will be rewarded with a one million dollar cash prize. But I warn you the road to get there will be devastating and terrifying. The winner will leave the island a changed person! I ask you this one time, are you all willing to go through with this?
JASMINE
Quit stalling and start the challenge already.
RODNEY
Yeah, I've had so much action back home, I'm ready for whatever you can dish out.
SKY
Bring it on.
SUGAR
C'mon, I've won like a hundred pageants. Compared to that, winnig this show is gonna be easy as chicken pot pie.
SCARLETT
I can't speak for the rest of my fellow teenagers, but I'm quite accomplished. I have multiple ribbons, trophies and perfect attendance stamps to my name. I think can handle whatever you have in store.
CHRIS
Ok then, get this, you guys are fending for yourselves this season. No amenities provided at all.
SUGAR
(Confused)
Wait, none?
CHRIS
(Ecstatically)
None! No cafeteria, no mess hall, no toilets and no bathrooms!
DAVE
(Terrified)
NO! How are we supposed to shower and get clean?
ELLA
Are we gonna starve?!
CHRIS
This island is full of resources and opportunities. There are plenty of rivers and lakes to wash your butts in. You just have to find them.
SCARLETT
We do have sleeping quarters, don't we? I remember that being mentioned clearly in the application forms.
CHRIS
Yes, Scarlett you do have shelters. In fact, that's you're first challenge: Find your shelters! They're located deep within the woods. Use these maps and compasses to find your way. First team to find their home for the season wins the challenge!
Chris tosses out the supplies. Jasmine catches the map and Rodney catches the compass. Sky catches both for her team.
DAVE
Wait, I have some questions, do we have access to soap?
CHRIS
The challenge begins now! Get to it.
JASMINE
Alright Salmon, let's go!
Kinosewak run off into the woods. Sky is looking at the map.
LEONARD
May I have a look?
SKY
I can handle it.
DAVE
He wants us to shower in a stream? Does he have any idea how many pathogens are in raw water? I need sanitizer.
Dave tears open a new bottle of hand sanitizer.
SUGAR
Just how many of those trinkets do you got?
CONFESSIONAL. in
DAVE
I know it seems like I'm freaking the heck out right now, so I'm going to make it clear. I'm really stocked to be here. If I can survive Total Drama, then no one's ever going to call me a neatfreak again. I know I can do this, I was just really hoping for access to a clean shower. That's all.
CONFESSIONAL. OUT
SKY
According to this map, our shelter is west of here. So this way! C'mon, move it or loose it!
Sky bolts off, and the rest of her team tries to follow after her. However, they're a lot slower than her. Sugar doesn't even bother and just walks after them.
SUGAR
Right. Like I'm gonna run in my brand new pageant shoes.
Chris watches the teams disappear into the woods before turning to the camera.
CHRIS
And they're off! Who will make it home first? More importantly, who's going to get mauled first? Our contestants are about to see just how wild this island can get, and you won't want to miss it. So stay tuned to Total. Drama. Pahkitew Island!
Fade to black.
ext. FOREST. DAY
Fade in. Jasmine, Rodney and the rest of Team Kinosewak run into the shot before slowing down. Max stops to pant heavily.
RODNEY
Need some help there, little guy?
MAX
(panting)
No, I don't need any help. Especially not from an overgrown tree stump.
RODNEY
How's a tree stump supposed to help you?
Jasmine looks at her map and then at her surroundings. She turns to Rodney.
JASMINE
(Tossing her map to him)
Here! I'm going up the tree to get a better look of the area.
Jasmine begins climbing a tree as the others catch their breath.
TOPHER
(Giddily)
I can't believe I just met Chris Mclean.
(To Amy)
He said my name. Chris Mclean said my name!
AMY
(Sarcastically)
Yeah, tell me about it.
TOPHER
I've been watching Chris since I was in elementary school. He's my hero. And now I'm actually on his show. This is the greatest day-
AMY
(cutting him off)
Um, when I say 'Tell me about it', what I mean is 'Stop talking to me, forever!'
At the top of the tree, Jasmine looks out at the view. She can make out a hill that looms over the entire landscape, as well as a variety of trees scattered around. She slides back down.
JASMINE
That's gotta be the hill from the map, which means our shelter is that way.
RODNEY
(Checking the Compass)
North East? Got it!
JASMINE
Alright, le-
RODNEY
(Cutting her off)
OK guys, lets go!
The team moves out again. Jasmine, slightly miffed, runs behind them.
cut to:
Team Maskwak slowly walks through the forest. Sky is staring at the map and trying to make sense of it. The rest of the team looks more dejected.
SUGAR
I can't believe we lost our luggage in the crash. I had the cutest little bikini I was going to show off. It would have made me a shoe in for audience favourite.
ELLA
I know. I had my mirror in my bag. Without it, how am I going to practice my face acting?
Sugar raises her eyebrow and looks at Ella in suspicion.
SUGAR
Well, lucky for me, I'm a pageant queen, which means I've never had to fake my personality to win anything. Unlike some of us.
ELLA
(Confused)
Ok?
Leonard jogs up to Sky.
LEONARD
Greetings fellow party member! Is there any way I can be of assistance?
SKY
It's fine, I've got this. Just follow my lead and I'll take us straight to the shelter.
LEONARD
Very well. But if you need help, know that you have a full party of gifted team mates by your side.
Leonard gestures to the rest of Team Maskwak. Sugar yawns apathetically, Beardo is head banging to music completely oblivious to everyone, and Dave and Ella are getting over some tree roots.
DAVE
Gross, gross, gross.
ELLA
Ow! Splinter!
SKY
(Rolling her eyes)
Right.
(Beat)
Wait. Weren't there seven of us?
LEONARD
Shawn said he prefered travelling by tree branch, so I gave him lookout duty.
Leonard gestures up above them. Sure enough, Shawn is hoping from tree to tree.
Back to Team Kinosewak, Rodney runs while looking at the map. The rest of the team follow behind him.
RODNEY
Keep it up! If we keep on going like this, we'll make it before the other team for sure!
He's suddenly grabbed by Jasmine. Looking up from the map, he sees he was just about to fall straight down a ravine and into a muddy river.
RODNEY
Woah!
JASMINE
Maybe you should look where your running, eh mate?
(Looking at the ravine)
That's odd. I should have seen this from the tree. It's like it just appeared.
MAX
Well, looks like you aren't as good as you think you are.
SAMMY
Oh no! What do we do now?
MAX
Nobody panic. It's so obvious. All of you form a chain by holding hands across the ravine. Then I walk on top of you and make it to the other side, go find my shelter and win.
Beat
RODNEY
What?
Suddenly, behind them, a long tree falls over. Its length stretches across the ravine, forming a bridge. Everyone turns to see Jasmine standing at the base of the tree.
JASMINE
Right then, back on track.
SAMMY
Wow Jasmine! That was amazing!
AMY
(Scared)
Yeah, amazingly freaky. Were you raised in a circus or something?
JASMINE
(Slightly angry)
I'm going to act like you didn't say that. Alright then, we'll go one by one to be careful.
As Rodney takes careful steps across the make-shift bridge, Scarlett approaches Max.
SCARLETT
Hey, you're Max, right?
MAX
Was there ever any doubt?
SCARLETT
You're being very rude to everyone. It's not a smart way to conduct yourself in an elimination game such as this.
MAX
Of course a simple minded girl wouldn't understand. I'm following in the tradition of the past great Total Drama villains. They did not make friends, they made enemies. As am I.
SCARLETT
I see. Your playing into the Heel archetype. That is brilliant. Heels often perform very well in Reality Television. But I think your missing a crucial element to making this work.
MAX
And that is?
SCARLETT
(Points to Amy)
A lackey. The Lindsay to your Heather.
MAX
Hmmmm. I think I just had an incredibly devious idea.
Max walks towards Amy and Scarlett smiles as she watches him.
MAX
Ahem, fellow female contestant! I have a proposal for you.
AMY
Huh?
MAX
I was thinking that we could form quite the pair you and I. With my gorgeous looks, powerful mind and charming personality, I could take you to places you've never seen before, and you and I will be a most incredible duo.
AMY
Ewww! Gross! Are you asking me out? Right now?
MAX
What? No, I'm way out of your league. Like I'd ever date you.
AMY
(Furious)
Excuse me?! Who do you think you are, you little goblin?
Amy is just barely holding herself back from attacking him.
MAX
I was thiking I'd make you the offer of your life, but clearly you're too immature for my purposes.
Max walks away from her. Livid, Amy picks up a stone and chucks it at Max's head, sending him staright to the ground.
Team Maskwak has been walking around for a while now. They're all exhausted but the end is nowhere in sight. Sky still has the map and is still struggling to make sense of it.
SKY
(Under her breathe)
Where are we?
Dave is walking behind Beardo.
DAVE
So have you ever been in the woods before?
Beardo head bangs to his music in his headphones.
DAVE
Oh, that makes me feel better. If anything bad happens, I can count on you.
CONFESSIONAL. IN
BEARDO
Ever since I was a kid, music's been my escape. As long as I have my headphones, my portable music, and the batteries to keep them alive, I feel like myself. Unfortunately being a shut in doesn't make you very popular. Dude, this is my first out of the surburbs. I came to Total Drama because I wanted to learn how to open up to people, and so far, I think I'm really connecting with my team. I feel like I'm finally communicating with others.
CONFESSIONAL. OUT
Leonard gets up closer to Sky.
LEONARD
Any luck, oh fearless leader?
SKY
I'm fine, as long as we're heading West, we're bound to hit the shelter eventually.
LEONARD
Ok, but the map should be giving you clear directions.
SKY
It should, but it's not, and I don't know why!
SUGAR
Maybe your all confused because you can't read maps.
LEONARD
That's absurd! Sky wouldn't take charge if she didn't know what she was doing, right Sky?
Sky doesn't answer.
LEONARD
Sky?
No answer.
Everyone gasps.
SKY
Guys, I'm a champion gymnast and track runner. I can figure out a map.
DAVE
But none of those things have anything to do with map reading!
SUGAR
(Livid)
You mean to tell me I've been scruffing up my pageant shoes this whole time, and you didn't know where we were going?!
ELLA
Everyone relax. I'm sure Sky didn't mean to get us lost.
Sky
We are not lost! Our shelter should be just around the corner!
Sky runs to the bushes and tears them open. A large figure emerges from them. Team Maskwak has disturbed a sleeping Rhino, and it is pissed off. The team is frozen, with the exception of Shawn.
SHAWN
(Giddily)
Heck yes! I knew they were Rhinos in Canada. Take that, Canadian Wildlife Federation!
With that trigger, the Rhino charges into Team Maskwak. Everyone dodges just in time.
SKY
THE TREES! GET UP THE TREES!
Everyone scrambles to get up the trees. Now trapped, they can do nothing but glare at Sky.
SKY
Alright, alright, I'm sorry. I should have let you all see the map.
DAVE
(Defeated)
There's no use being upset now. At this rate the other team must have already found their shelter and won. We should just wait for Chris and Chef to rescue us.
LEONARD
(Defiantly)
No! We still have dice to roll and turns to take, we just need to get away from this rhinoceros. Come on everyone! What are Rhinoes scared of?
SHAWN
Duh! They're afraid of their gold stashes being uncovered. The rhino's horn acts as a tool to find and dig out gold. That's the real reason people keep hunting them for their horns. All that crap about ivory is just a cover up.
Everyone stares at Shawn in confusion.
SHAWN
They also hate loud noises, so we can try that.
ELLA
Everyone shout, sing, make all the noise you can.
Team Maskwak starts making a cacophany of noise at the rhino. After a moment, it runs off in a panic. They all, save for Shawn, drop down from the tree.
SKY
So, can any of you guys read a map?
LEONARD
Well, I've read a lot of fictional maps and I've created plenty of my own. I can try.
Leonard takes the map and compass from Sky and begins interpreting them.
LEONARD
Shawn, stay in the tree tops and let us know what you see. Everyone else, follow me!
Team Maskwak follow Shawn as he jogs off!
Back to Kinosewak, the contestants are keeping up a jog as they follow Rodney and Jasmine. Max and Scarlett are at the back of the group.
MAX
These fools don'tknow what they're missing out on! An alliance with me is a ticket straight to the finale.
(Sigh)
I suppose I shouldn't blame them for not possesing a fraction of my intelligence.
SCARLETT
Such maturity. They didn't deserve an alliance with you anyway. Honestly, I don't see why you aren't leading us to victory.
MAX
(Gasping and coming to a sudden stop)
Right you are, little girl. I have the ferocity of a lion, the might of a bear and the homing abilities of a pigeon. I'll go find the shelter and the team will have to accept me as leader. Quickly, follow me!
(Turns to leave)
SCARLETT
No, no, you're a much faster runner than me. I'd only slow you down.
MAX
That is true, you do seem rather incapable. Very well, off I go!
Max runs off in the other direction and Scarlett smiles as she watches him leave. Up front, Rodney holds the map as he walks besides Jasmine.
RODNEY
That was some real wilderness survivor stuff you pulled back there, Jasmine. You're really good at this.
JASMINE
You're not too bad yourself, big guy. How much closer are we to the shelter?
RODNEY
(Looking down at his map)
We should be just about there.
Everyone stops, but Rodeny keeps on running while looking at his map.
JASMINE
Er, Rodney?
RODNEY
C'mon shelter, where are you hiding?
*SLAM*
Rodney slams right into a tree and falls over backwards. Jasmine, Topher and Amy surround him.
AMY
Eww, his nose is bleeding.
Topher and Jasmine help Rodney up.
JASMINE
Nice work, Rodney!
RODNEY
What?
Rodney looks up at the tree he just collided with and gasps. It's a tree house! A big tree house with green roof, a roll up ladder, and tree branches potruding from some of the windows. Kinosweak ooo's and aaa's at the sight of it.
Time cut
int. Treehouse. DAY
Team Kinosewak explore their shelter's balcony. There are two doors on the opposite ends, one for the girls' side, the other for the boys. Sammy goes to open one of the doors but is stopped by her sister.
AMY
Ahem!
SAMMY
Oh, right, after you.
Amy opens the door to their room. Inside are some hammocks for beds and some tree branches holding up the ceiling.
AMY
Not bad, I could get used to this.
Scarlett walks to a large painting mounted on the wall. It shows an eagle snatching fish from the water.
SCARLETT
I see our new home hasn't been themed appropriately.
SAMMY
Hey look, our luggage!
Sammy points to a pile of bags sitting in the corner. She runs to grab hers, but as she lays her hands on it, a squish sound can be heard.
SAMMY
What the? They're soaked.
SCARLETT
Hmm, they must have been salvaged from the water after the plane crashed. We should hang our belongings out to dry.
AMY
(To Scarlett)
Good call.
(To Sammy, shouting)
Samey! Get to it, I'm exhausted!
As Amy gets into a hammock to rest, Sammy tries to protest.
SAMMY
Wait, but - what about-?
(Sighs)
Fine.
Outside, Chris arrives on a motorbike. The teens gather to see him.
CHRIS
Kinosewak, Wassup? Looks like you found the treehouse.
RODNEY
Yup! No sweat!
JASMINE
Which means we win the challenge!
CHRIS

(Shocked)
Max! Poor litle guy must have gotten lost!
CHRIS
Well, he better show up soon. Your whole team needs to be hear to win.
Jasmine and Rodney exchange worried looks.
EXT. FOREST. DAY
Team Maskwak follow Leonard through the woods as he hums a tune from some old fantasy film. The teens move over small streams, under branches, and through clearings. As they arrive at the entrance of a cave, Leonard's humming ends.
LEONARD
Hazaah! We have arrived!
The other teens look more apprehensive.
DAVE
(nervously)
Are you sure? It kinda just looks like a cave. And caves kinda have bears and bats and worms in them.
Sky heads into the cave ahead of the others. The team looks on, worried for her safety. After a few seconds, she emerges again.
SKY
Guys, you have to check this out! It's all set up.
Intrigued, the rest of Team Maskwak rush in. it turns out the cave is man made, with two rooms set up. Inside, beds have been carved into the walls, with a fire site in the middle.
LEONARD
Marvelous!
A large horn goes off. There's a speaker hidden in the wall of their shelter. Everyone gathers around it. A voice comes through: Chris' voice!
CHRIS
Congratulations to all of you for managing to find your shelters, but mainly to Team Maskwak for giving a killer show. Some of you got turned around and endangered way more than others, but that doesn't matter. All that matters now is that I got a wicked episode of TV out of this. And now that Team Maskwak found their sheters, I can announce them the winners of the challenge!
The entire team breaks out into cheers. Sugar actually lifts Dave, Leonard and Sky off their feet for a group hug.
On the other side of the Island, at Kinosewak's tree house, Chris puts away his mic and looks up to the dissapointed losing team.
CHRIS
As for you dudes, meet at the top of the mountain after sunset. You're going to vote off one of your own!
Chris drives away, leaving the teens to themselves.
AMY
Ugh, that little creep is so gonna get it! Where did he run off to anyway?
Suddenly, a raging rhinoceros jumps out of the woods! Max is riding on top of it and screaming for his life. Team Kinosewak gasp at the sight as the rhino runs around in a fury.
CONFESSIONAL. IN
MAX
It seemed obvious that I should have a terrifying mount of my own, to strike fear into the hearts of those who oppose me. And to look cool, of course.
CONFESSIONAL. OUT
EXT. MT PAHKITEW. NIGHT
Much later, past sunset, Pimapotew Kinosewak have arrived at the top of the island's signature volcano. They stand around the crater nervously as the magma inside the crater illuminates the scene with an orange tint. Jasmine apprehensively looks over the edge of the crater and at the magma.
Chris is standing on the other side of the crater. Behind him are six lit torches. He clears his throat to get the all of the teenagers attention turned to him.
CHRIS
This is Mt Pahkitew! A little known Canadian volcano and the site of our elimination ceremonies! This is where you'll all be coming to face the judgment of your peers and potentially be removed from the competition. Now, you've all cast your votes, and I've got to say: There's some tension in this group! You might want to spend your down time sorting that out.
Chris turns and lifts up one of the torches.
CHRIS
This is fire! It represents warmth, light, progress, and in this game, your individual survival.
(Pause for emphasis)
Listen closely, when I call your name, come and receive your torch. If you do not receive a torch, that means you've been eliminated from the game, and you can't EVER come back.
Everyone is tense as they listen. Chris dons a serious expression as he begins to call names.
CHRIS
Jasmine.
Jasmine sighs in relief. She walks over to Chris, going around the crater, and collects the torch.
CHRIS
Topher.
Topher squeels and runs over.
CHRIS
Scarlett. Rodney.
The two walk over and claim their torches. Amy, Sammy and Max are the last ones there. Sammy and covers her eyes in anxiety while Max looks a little concerned. Amy, on the other hand, isn't worried at all.
CHRIS
Sammy, your safe.
Sammy uncovers her eyes and relaxes as she walks over to Chris. Amy is annoyed that her sister got called over her. She glares angrily at the final torch.
CHRIS
Amy, Max, this is the last torch. The one who survives is...
Max begins sweating and Amy steps away from him in disgust. She glares at Chris, waiting for him to say someone's name. Chris draws the tension out and holds a serious expression while he looks back and forth between Amy and Max. He lifts the torch into the air as he calls the name of the survivor-
CHRIS
Amy.
AMY
(Scoffs)
Obviously.
She walks over and yanks her torch away from Chris, before going to stand with the rest of her team. Max is horrified.
MAX
NO! THIS CAN'T BE! I WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN! i WAS GOING TO MANIPULATE AND TAKE OUT EVERYONE ELSE! HOW COULD GENIUS OF MY CALIBER BE ELIMINATED FIRST?
CHRIS
(Sarcastically)
I know, it's so unbelievable. But the deal is basically everyone wanted you gone.
Max starts to sniffle quietly.
CHRIS
Dude? Are you crying?
MAX
(Sniffling)
No! I do not cry! Heels do not cry
CHRIS
Right... Uh, if it makes you feel better, you're the first person to try this season's mode of elimination.
MAX
(Miserably)
Ok, what is it?
TIME CUT TO
EXT. BEACH. night
On the beach, a beaten up helicopter sits waiting for Max.
CHRIS
Say hello to the Chopper of Losers! On this barely air worthy vehicle will eliminated contestants take the dreaded Flight of Shame!
(Turns to Max)
Time to say goodbye Max.
MAX
I'm not going and you can't ma- WOAH!
Before Max knows, Chef has swooped him and proceeds to violently toss him into the chopper. He gets into the cockpit and prepares for take off. As the blades of the chopper make sand fly all over, it slowly takes off. Team Kinosewak wave their former team mate goodbye. Max isn't done yet. He squeezes his face up against the window and begins shouting at his team.
MAX
YOU THINK IS THE END OF ME?! YOU WILL ALL REGRET THIS DAY, AND I will HAVE MY REVENGE!!!
As the chopper flies off, the teens turn to each other.
SAMMY
What did he say?
The rest of the team shrug before turning to walk back to their Treehouse. Chris begin to sign off.
CHRIS
With one down and thirteen left, the games are just getting started! Who will -
Chris stops as he notices Topher still there.
TOPHER
Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to- I'm such a huge fan. Your my biggest hero and I've always wanted to see you sign off an episode in person.
CHRIS
Now who am I to deny the wish of such an intelligent young man?
(Facing the camera)
Who will emerge victorious, and who's next to take the long flight home. Find out next time on TOTAL. DRAMA. PAHKITEW ISLAND!!!
The shot pulls back to the entirety of the island.
TOPHER
Brilliant! YOU'RE AMAZING!!!
CHRIS
