Louis, so lost falling into green eyes, barely registers the gasp and faint whimper that seems to be aimed at him. His focus snaps back just as a quiet and desperate “Alpha” slips from the man’s lips. Eyes falling closed, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, the omega turns his head and burrows as far into Louis’ belly as he can manage.
Staring down at the stunning Omega in his arms, Louis inhales and forgets to let the breath out. His heart, pounding in his chest, feels like it’s trying to take flight. He can’t hear anything in that moment because of the blood rushing through his ears. Louis' body tenses just as he feels the man in his arms give in completely to his drop. He can’t process what’s happening, can’t feel anything but the slight rise and fall of breathing against him. This should make sense as a standalone story, but I recommend reading Steaming Mad (I'll Bring You Home) first, if only because in my biased opinion, I think it's a good read.

Dozens of bodies littered the ground in a wide radius, each one grotesquely skewered through and through. Had Cody not been in his current line of work, he would have guessed a metal porcupine the size of a minivan had gone rogue.
Shawn, on the other hand, inhaled a sharp intake of breath, his eyes widening as the camera pivoted sharply, settling on a man’s face.
He had a full, snowy-white beard and looked far too much like a kindly grandfather to be responsible for the slaughter surrounding him.
“Turn the camera over, Rick,” another voice echoed.
Rick turned the lens toward a second man with a silver goatee, marred by a single vertical stripe of black hair. He looked so much like Rick they had to be brothers. This one wore a comical amount of chainmail draped over his head that might have been endearing, but he was currently holding a metal spike to the throat of the trembling correspondent.
“I know you’re watching, Hunter,” Black Stripe said, his voice unnervingly calm and lacking the manic energy usually found in public executions. “And I do hope we’ve captured just enough of your attention,”
