You Should Take More Care of Yourself

Summary:

You were never the best at self care, especially not in the month away from work. As long as you were alive it didn't matter, right? Sun and Moon certainly don't agree.
The Daycare Attendant was in need of a clean after the long closure, so you had the whole day to clean them and tidy the daycare. Instead of cleaning, they turned their attention to you, you needed a bath yourself.

(vaguely related to the eclipse fic in case you haven't read that)

Notes:

Okay so I've been feeling like ass recently, school assignments and the gym ain't helpin. SOOO we gon get the daycare boios you help you feel yourself again. Plus I added a bit as a kinda add-on to the Eclipse story bc I loved it and I'm the one calling the shots here lmao

UPDATE I'VE BEEN SICK FOR A WEEK :,D

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Your eyes cracked open, the warmth of your weighted blanket keeping you anchored as you gained your bearings. You looked at the clock on your bedside table, 12:00pm, you slept in again.

The daycare, no, the entire Pizzaplex had been closed for almost a month now.. Some sort of incident? An investigation? You were never given a clear answer, but there were a few missing kids on the latest headlines. Fuck Fazbear Entertainment's habit of avoiding serious issues.

You groaned as you swung your legs over the edge of the bed, thighs aching in protest as you stood up. You dodged around the week's worth of trash and dirty clothes on your bedroom floor as you walked to the bathroom.

The mirrors lie, they'd tell you.

"Tch, no the fuck they don't."

You dragged your hand down the side of your face, sunken eyes scutinising your reflection. You looked like a walking corpse. Hell, you felt like one. Only leaving the bed to eat, go to the bathroom, and go to the gym, you felt absolutely shitty. Your workplace shutting down reminded you how awful your 'routine' was.

The boss just told you that the Plex was closed until further notice. You and the other 'lesser' workers hadn't been on duty since the closure, but apparently the techs were still needed.

You took off your binder, only now realising that you'd slept in it, fucking damn it. You smelled like shit, the last time you showered was.. what, about a week and a half? God, you really let yourself go.

Welp, wouldn't hurt to wash up for once, or even the gym instructor would know how bad you've been.

You started running the water in the shower, waiting for the water to heat up. As you waited, you picked up some of the dirty laundry and haphazardly threw them into the laundry hamper, your pajamas following as you finished undressing yourself.

Hoping for it to be quick, you stood under the hot water, the warmth easing up your sore muscles slightly. You made quick work of washing yourself, keeping from touching your body too much, you didn't want to focus on your chest, or stomach, or thighs, or.. You shook your head, shutting off the water once you'd washed away the soap.

After drying yourself off, you wrapped the damp towel around your upper body wand walked to the bedroom. You threw on a loose t-shirt and flopped on the bed, blindly reaching for your phone on the bedside table.

A small ping caught your attention as you grabbed it. It was a missed call from your boss! Oh shit, curse your phone being on silent. You called back and held the phone to your ear as they picked up.

"Y/N? Thank god, I thought you'd died."

"Heh.. Well, I'm not! Sooo what do you need?"

"Ah, well. The Daycare attendant has been shut down since the incident," Ah yes, that incident you knew fuck-all about. "-and they had gone through a minor reboot after the investigation.."

"Mmm?"

"If it's not too much to ask, could you come in for the day and.. Hang out with them? We just need you to keep them company, check them over and write a report at the end of the day."

You perked up at the thought of seeing the boys again. "Y-yeah I can do that. When do you need me?"

"As soon as you're available, none of the other daycare workers seemed keen on watching them." You chose not to ask why.

"Okay, I'll get ready now."

"Also.. Don't bother asking them about the incident. Their memory of said incident has been wiped and the Eclipse protocol had been disabled."

Wait... They wiped the boys' memories? Eclipse had been shut down? Was he a part of it??? You held down the overwhelming urge to spew out every question swirling in your mind, instead trying to focus on the aspect of meeting them.

"Y-yes, I won't." You were definitely going to.

They hung up on you, leaving you a mix of excited and nervous. You rushed to properly dress yourself and turned on the kettle, putting on a clean binder. After grabbing a beanie and coffee to go, you practically sprinted out to your car, the pain in your legs doubling with every heavy step.

You pulled into the parking lot for the first time in a month, locking the car as you swiftly jogged to the entrance. Your boss met you at the door, a smile plastered on their face as you approached them.

"Wow, that was pretty fast!"

"Didn't really have much on."

"Oh, well come in, it's cold outside."

They led you inside and escorted you to the daycare, keeping a close eye on all the bots that you passed. Now that you think about it, they seemed very jittery, scared? Oh well.

You gave them a wave as you stepped towards the double doors, but a hand on your shoulder stopped you from opening them. When you turned around to see, your boss stared back, a their smile seeming more strained.

"Please, be careful.. Call me if they seem the slightest bit off and we'll help you."

"I will."

They nodded, leaving you to enter the daycare. It felt good being back, though without the lively children around, or Sun, which was definitely weird. The heavy door slammed shut behind you, making you flinch at the loud noise.

Instinctively, you whipped your head around to see if anyone else was with you. Finding no one at all, none in the play structures, behind the desk, or in the ballpit, you sighed, leaning back against the wooden door.

You froze when you saw something up on the balcony.. a mouse? No, mice aren't that big. You squinted, it looked like.. triangles... Sun's rays, so he was here!

He seemed to twitch as he realised you could see him, slowly peeking over the edge of the balcony.

"Y-Y/N?"

"Sun! Come here please."

He hummed and sat still for a bit, but eventually gve in and dropped into the ballpit. You met him as he emerged from the plastic, hugging him tightly before he had the chance to react. Sun squeaked as he looked down at you.

"Oh- Well, h-hello to you too!"

"Damn, I've missed you."

Sun chose not to scold you for your language, instead picking you up as he left the ballpit. He walked you over to the security desk, gently putting you down as he looked you over. He held his hand to your forehead.

"Sunshine.. Have you been taking good care of yourself? You have a high temperature and you're awfully pale."

"I'm fine, Sunny, I'm here to take care of you, not the other way around."

"I-if you say so, Starlight."

"Now," You gestured toards the stains on his chest, "we gotta clean this mess up."

Sun fidgeted with his fingers. "Yeah, we should."

You made your way to the wooden doors, turning back to Sun with a smile. "I'll be right back, okay?" He nodded.

Leaving through the double doors, you made your way to the storage closet. After rifling through the supplies on the shelves, you found a tub filled with the cleaning supplies you'd been searching for.

You jogged back to the daycare and walked in to see Sun standing just a few steps from the doors where he had been waiting for you. The sight made you frown, he'd been alone for a month, no kids or staff to keep him company, and now he was acting like a little puppy, waiting by the door like you'd been out the whole day.

"Alright, Sunny. It's okay, I'm back. Can you sit down for me please?"

"Yes of course! G-golly, I haven't been able to clean myself in quite a while.." He mumbled as he sat cross-legged on the floor.

You patted his head, humming as his rays retracted to give you room. He leaned into the touch, almost purring. It was almost cute, though you couldn't bring yourself to genuinely smile when you saw the dirt and grime on his face. Yeah, you didn't want to put it off any longer.

Sun whined as you pulled your hand away, you reassured him as you reached into the tub for some spray cleaner and a rag. He flinched as you pointed the spray bottle at him, holding up his hands as if being held at gunpoint.

The goofy act made you giggle, you squirted some of the cleaning solution in his face. He yelped, falling onto his back and lying there 'dead'. You stepped over him and straddled his chest, wiping his wet face with the rag. He laughed as you thoroughly scrubbed his face, cleaning every dip and crevice, acting as if you were tickling him.

Once you were satisfied that his head was clean, you slid backwards and moved onto spraying and wiping his chest. He didn't stop giggling, reaching up to cover his mouth with his hands, as if it would do anything. You batted his hands away.

"No touching! Your hands are dirty, I just cleaned your face."

You scraped at a speck of grime with your blunt fingernails, you really should have stopped biting your nails, or maybe you shouldn't be focusing on such a small fleck. Even so, you continued, finally removing that stubborn piece and wiping at dried glue.

"Gods, how did you get glue on your chest??"

Sun chuckled, holding out his hands to your face, also covered in the glittery substance. "A bottle exploded! I was doing crafts, had to keep myself busy, y'know?"

"...Huh."

You kept cleaning him in silence- well, near silence, poor Sunny was still laughing, in hysterics now. It was hard not to smile at his antics, but you continued, wiping over every bit of dust, dirt, hand prints, shoe prints, glue and paint. You never really realised how dirty the poor lad was, especially after a month of isolation.

After finishing of his chest and abdomen, leaving the parts squeaky clean, Sun offered up his arms to get the same treatment. You took his left one first, trailing down from his shoulder to the tips of his long fingers in swift but careful movements. By now he'd stopped laughing, watching your deft fingers move up and down his arm. He was oddly quiet, seemingly in awe at the special care you gave in cleaning him.

You didn't notice you had spaced out till he made a sound akin to clearing his throat.

"Ahem, Sunshine. I'm p-pretty sure that arm is clean now."

"OH- yeah, yeah sorry."

"Oh deary me, you must be so tired."

"N-no, I'm fine, really. If anything I slept too much." You mumbled.

"Well that may have a similar effect.."

You chose not to respond, taking his other arm instead. It was a little harder to focus with him staring at you like that, but you kept going and let your thoughts melt away as you cleaned his arm.

He didn't press the issue, though every now again you'd look up to see his concerned expression. It made you feel bad, his ever-present smile now twisted into a pout, his plain white eyes showed worry.

Worry? For me of all people? It doesn't make any sense.

Oh well, you weren't going to make youself cry with that train of thought again. You continued wiping his hand, slipping the rag between his fingers. Soon enough, you finished cleaning him, getting a towel to dry of the soaked metal. You started at his rays then moved down, only stopping when you were sure every part was dry.

You yawned as you pulled away, wringing out the rags over the tub they came in.

"I gotta go take these back, okay?"

"No. We can do that later Sunshine, leave it on the desk."

"But you hate messes.." You looked around the daycare, "And speaking of messes, we ought to clean this up, this place is a pigsty."

Yeah, yeah, you hypocrite.

Sun tutted, "No, no, I think I'd rather focus on you today."

Before you could ask what he meant, you were held against his chest, almost two metres off the ground. Fuck he was tall, how did you always forget this? He set off, out the daycare, ignoring your confusion.

You smacked his arm to get his attention. "SUN. What the FUCK are you doing?!"

"Language, Dewdrop." He kept walking. "I'm taking you somewhere special."

"Oh don't pull that vague crap, tell me where you're taking me or I'm calling security!"

Sun stopped with a sigh, looking down at you.

"Somewhere I can help you. I've been worried about you since you came in, you're dehydrated, you're tired, you haven't been eating well, and your body is very tense. Have you been taking care of yourself recently?"

"N- Y-yeah- I mean- I'm alive, so it's fine, right?"

"Hm." Sun kept walking.

The two of you stayed quiet as you walked, Sun's tone of voice leaving you a little scared, like a parent scolding you. It made you want to cry, thinking you'd upset him, but maybe he was right, maybe you were due some love and care. Well, it'd been a month since the last time you'd seen them, it wouldn't hurt to go along with it.

Your face was pressed against Sun's warm chest when he stopped again, opening a creaky door. He adjusted his grip on you, letting you get a good look at the room he'd brought you to.

The floor was coated in a thin layer of dust, the tiles on the wall cracked and faded, a surprisingly bright light illuminating the room. A large bathtub sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by numerous bottles of bodywash, shampoos, conditioners and bath salts.

You stared in awe as Sun let you down and walked over to start running the bath. He beckoned you forward as water started pooling at the bottom of the tub.

"Test the water, is it warm enough?"

You rolled up your sleeves and dipped your fingers in the water, sighing. It was perfect, so hot but so, so relaxing, and that was only your hands that could feel it, imagine that warmth encompassing you. You nodded to Sun to answer his question.

He hummed, looking around the room.

"I need to go get some things. When the water level is high enough, shut off the water and hop in, okay? Pinky promise I won't look when I'm back!"

Sun rushed out, leaving you shivering in the cold room. You sighed as you felt the water again, the heat almost boiling compared to the chill of the air. The dust in the air made you sneeze, and fuck your throat was hurting. You opted to sit down and rest your head on the edge of the tub as you watched the water slowly rise.

You rushed to cover up your chest when Sun entered the room holding a basket, he held his other hand over his eyes. He turned around to lock the door, keeping his eyes off you as he approached.

He kneeled by the side of the tub and pulled a few small bottles out of the basket, you cocked your head to the side.

"Don't worry, Starlight, these are some special smelling oils, to help you relax!"

Sun held up one of them, lavender oil. Oh, that sounded lovely. You sank further into the water so you were face to face with Sun, who stared at you intently. His smile seemed to fall as he saw how unwell you were.

"Oh deary me, you're sick, running quite a temperature still."

Before you could deny that statement, Sun pressed his hand to your forehead, his cool metal fingers against your burning forehead made you whine. He poured a few drops of the lavender oil into the bath, the smell rising like steam.

Sun stayed fairly quiet as you soaked in the bath, fidgeting with the small bottles he brought as he tried to keep you comfortable. You sat you arms on the edge of the tub, the perfect place to rest you head as you watched him.

The silence became a little too awkward, so you spoke up. "You know, I've never really had a bath since I was a kid.."

Sun perked up at hearing your voice, the last thing he expected was for you to talk so suddenly.

"A-ah, well- baths are a great way to keep up good hygiene AND relax. The kids do love them!"

"You used to do this for kids? That's why this is here?"

"Why else would it be here, dear?"

"Well- it's just- this place seems kinda old."

"Ohh yes, we haven't done bath time in quite a long while!"

You raised an eyebrow. Sun continued.

"The parents weren't too keen on us seeing their children naked, I suppose the line was crossed after changing nappies. Either way, this place has only been used for.. special cases, like you!"

"How was it allowed in the first place? I mean, no disrespect, but you are robots, having images or videos of undressed kids would urk me too."

"Oh, definitely! We always had censors in place in case we did see anything indecent, especially with some of the more immature ones, so we never really see that type of stuff. Buuut, the parents' comfort matters just as much as the children's!"

"So you wouldn't see anything at all, even on me?"

"Absolutely nothing, Starshine. Promise!"

You breathed a sigh, the warmth of the bath water and Sun's kindness were really getting to you. The pain in your shoulders and lower back returned as you sat up straight, arm coming up to cover your chest as you stretched your back.

Sun's hand cupping your cheek made you open your eyes. Since when did you have them shut so tightly? You leaned into his touch, his body way cooler than he'd felt before. He leaned up to your face and whispered to you, as if the door wasn't shut and locked.

"You still seem sore, love. How about after we get you all warmed up we can give you a massage too?"

"And how did you learn to do that?"

"The internet!~"

You chuckled. "Yeah, figured you didn't know that beforehand."

Sun let out a loud gasp. "So rude!" He flicked water into your face.

"Hey!"

You laughed even harder, the way your breathing quickened making your throat itch, a familiar tingling making itself known.

Uh oh

You suddenly fell into a fit of coughing and wheezing, almost taking in water when the force of your coughing made you lean forward. It almost felt like you were choking, barely able to get air in between each barking cough.

Sun's hands held onto your shoulders, keeping you above the surface of the water as you came down from the fit.

"Oh fffuck." You groaned, voice noticeably raspy.

Sun sighed. "Language.. Are you okay?"

"Great, perfect, just peachy."

"Tch, liar."

Yeah.. Your throat felt so raw and your body was shaking, you felt as if you were going to throw up. Sun noticed too, gently rubbing your shoulders as he whispered reassurance.

"Hey, hey, it's okay.. Do you want to get out? We set up some nice warm PJs to battle the cold!"

You nodded and coughed into your elbow, thanking the heavens that it was only one this time. Sun helped you step out of the tub, quickly wrapping you in a large towel. It was almost like a blanket.

Sun rubbed you up and down with the towel, drying you like you had done with him hours ago. He turned aound while you dressed yourself so you would feel more comfortable. He'd sooner be decommissioned than make you feel uncomfortable after all.

You rubbed at your sore throat once you finished dressing, tapping Sun's shoulder. He quickly turned around and scooped you up, grabbing the basket in his free hand as he stepped out.

His chest was so warm that you couldn't help but snuggle up to him as he carried you out of the chilly room, he took special care not to jostle you. Sun cleared his throat, or at least made a similar noise, you looked up at him.

"Hungry? Thirsty?"

Your stomach grumbled in response. Embarrassed, you pushed your face harder into Sun's chest, hearing him laugh at your flustering.

"It's okay, Sunshine! I thought you'd be a little peckish, so I packed some things while I was out, in the basket."

He held it up to you, unable to move his other hand from your lower back. You rifled through the items inside, skipping the salty chip packets and sugary treats that sat at the top.

A small plastic container was what you pulled out, your other arm dropping from around Sun's neck to open it. You pulled out half of a sandwich and stared at it, you understood the snacks but.. where did he get a fucking sandwich? Was there a vendor or something??

Sun seemed to pick up on your confusion.

"Oh that? I figured in case you were still hungry after the snacks you could have a sandwich, made it myself too! Didn't know what you like so it just has ham and cheese. Go on, give it a try, ya need to eat somethin'!"

Okay, ham and cheese, nothing too bad, sure. You nibbled on the edge of it and tucked the container back into the basket. For something simple, it actually tasted pretty good! You took a bigger bite, then another, and another, soon finishing the piece as you leaned against Sun's chest again. You even took the other piece and scarfed it down just as quickly.

Sun hugged you close to him as he re-entered the daycare, connecting to their rig. You shut your eyes tight as you felt Sun rising up, your fear of heights had never left you, not even when these trips to Sun and Moon's room became a routine.

He held onto you when his feet touched the padded floor of his balcony, moving you to rest on his hip as if you were a small child. You were laid on your back in the little nest of pillows and reached up to try drag Sun down for more cuddles, whining when he pulled away.

"Sorry Dewdrop, just a little longer then we can rest. Moon still wants to see you, is that okay?"

You nod, just wanting their warmth against you. Sun stepped back and pulled the curtain by the balcony shut, and turned on the dim fairly lights so you could see when the lights shut off.

You closed your eyes for just a moment, and when you opened them, Moon was standing beside you, their sudden switch taking you by surprise. A gasp left you as he leaned in a little closer, the cool air in your throat throwing you into another coughing fit. Fuck fuck fuck not again.

Moon rubbed and patted your back as you let it out. Once you came down again, you noticed that you were pressed up against Moon, he was hugging you close to his chest.

When did that happen? Oh well, not like I'm complaining.

He whispered to you in that gentle, soothing voice, the one he'd always use to lull children to sleep. "So sorry, Starlight, didn't mean to startle you."

"It's- I'm okay Moony, really."

"Mmm, no you're not." He booped your nose.

He picked up the basket Sun had left by you, dropping the junk food by your feet. "Ugh, horrible, no good."

You chuckled at his frustration. "It's okay, I'm not hungry anymore."

"None of that, you only ate a sandwich, shouldn't be full, must eat a little more, where is it-"

Moon groaned as his search was unsuccessful, eyes twitching as he only found a water bottle. You took the bottle when he offered it to you, patting his head as you took a sip, the cool water easing your aching throat.

He then pulled out a small packet. The foil packaging told you everything you needed to know, it was Panadol, painkillers, your best friend for the past few weeks... How did he get this? It wasn't for kids, but for adults, that had you even more confused.

But you couldn't deny the relief you felt when he gave you the capsules, excited for the throbbing in your head and throat to wash away. After gulping them down with some more water, you looked up at Moon.

You noticed how he wasn't meeting your eyes, instead, his gaze was locked on your body, and the pajamas you were dressed in. He seemed uneasy as he looked you over.

"Everything okay Moony?"

"You are still very tense... How about that massage Sun offered?"

The what-

Oh.. Yeah, no that didn't sound too bad actually.

You nodded, giving Moon the okay to turn you over. You felt him looming over you as you laid on your stomach, nuzzling into the pillows below you.

He slid his fingers under your shirt, carefully pushing it up your back to give himself space. The warmth made you sigh, especially when he laid his hands flat over your shoulder blades.

"This still alright, Starshine?"

"Yeah, it's a-okay."

Moon prodded at sore spots in your back and shoulders, the careful pressure and contrast of his hot hands against the cold air made you gasp. His fingers splayed out as his hands trailed down your back.

You groaned as his deft fingers worked out the knots, already feeling your eyelids droop. Moon's music box played a soft lullaby as he continued easing up your sore muscles, only adding to the fatigue dragging you down.

Humming a tune, Moon kept up his work, giving you the best, and only, massage you've ever had. Everything felt heavy, the aches in your back slipping away with every brush of his fingers.

He leaned over and kissed your forehead as he pulled your shirt back into place, keeping a hand over the fuzzy cloth. A small rumbling caught you off guard, he was purring, you swore you could feel the vibrations through his finger too..

"Promise me you'll take more care of yourself?"

"Mhm, promise."

You were soon dragged into a deep, blissful sleep, Moon wrapped around you like a makeshift blanket, purring all the while.

...

Your phone sat at the security desk, beside the half-full mug of your morning coffee.

The dull buzz of missed calls from your boss filled the dark, empty room.
