Summary
“Let me go, Sam,” he says with a wicked grin, “And I’ll spare him. How’s that?”
Sam bares his teeth in a primal way. He takes a step closer, testing the waters, and Dream’s hands shift almost immediately. He has Tommy’s head in a deadlock, and Sam is well aware that Dream’s strength has not been sapped from him- not quite yet. There’s still muscle to his arms that represent his prowess as a fighter. One wrong move and Tommy’s neck will snap.
“Dream,” Sam begins, voice low and firm. “I can’t do that.”
Dream’s expression darkens in an almost maniacal way as Tommy squirms in his grasp. “Oh? You can’t?”
Sam shakes his head. Dream just chuckles, soft and not at all delightful. “If you can’t, then Tommy stays. Easy as that.”
Or, Sam is forced to relive the worst day of his life, over and over and over again.
