- "... and then I went back to Chim’s cause I wanted to check on Maddie and Jee, and we saw the report on TV...and, and she was running the story live!"
Eddie swallowed his mouthful of beer and stared at Buck, incredulous.
- "So, you guys brought a paramedic slash serial killer story to Taylor on a silver plate and you honestly though she would not use it?"
Buck bit his lips and looked around in agitation.
- "She had promised me!"
- "Yes. And? That’s the Frog and the Scorpion, Buck!"
- "That Scorpion is my girlfriend!"
Eddie shrugged in acknowledgment and picked his phone up from the table.
- "What are you doing?"
- "Sending a get well text to Chim and Hen…"
Buck made his beer turn in the bottle, face closed and eyes low. Eddie stood up and came closer, half an ass cheek perched on the table.
- "Sorry, man. Planes make me cranky. Wanna play Mario Kart? I’ll let you win…"
Buck did not look up, but the hint of a smile appeared on his lips.
- "You wish...I can be Peach?"
Eddie clinked his bottle to the one in Buck’s hand.
- "Fine, I’ll be your Mario."
