Thank you so much for reading, you are the best. Not betaed because I suck, sorry.

Chapter 1: It's all your Fault!

Chapter Text

Okay so maybe, just maybe it was his fault. Perhaps if they hadn’t wandered so far from the road, now they might have been rescued. He wouldn't be all turned around and leading Porsche further and further away from where they’d begun. By some miracle they’d survived the truck hurtling out of control down a slope and then smashing into something that had been soft enough not to throw them out the back doors but at least substantial enough that the truck didn’t end up over a cliff.

The only thing he’d thought about was to run. He’d heard their kidnappers talking about meeting up with others, so he could only think he didn’t want to be trapped when they came looking for the truck that never showed up at the rendezvous. They might be a formidable team but not against guns.

“What the fuck? Where are you going huh?”

He’d managed to influence Porsche to follow him saying he knew where he was heading when in all honesty he just felt like he’d stumble upon a road sooner than later and Porsche would be none the wiser. That intuition that told him to bolt away from that truck in fear of both their lives being in danger was the only thing driving him onward.

It was not a good day to die. Thank you very much.

“I don’t believe you anymore? Where are you going?

Porsche was beginning to suspect his boss had no idea where he was going and was in fact drudging them deeper into the forest with every step.

“This way.”

“I’ll go this way”

“This way” Kinn insisted.

“No. this way”

“I’m your boss.”

Oh so he was going to play this card. Well, not any more. He was on a break.

“Why are you gonna have your people hurt me?”

Porsche called mockingly out for two of his least favourite people on the planet.

“Hey Big , Hey Ken!
Oh… I didn’t think so” Porsche sneered.

Kinn couldn’t believe Porsche was still sore about this, admittedly he’d only done it because his father had insisted that he not treat Porsche any differently from any other bodyguard. It wasn’t exactly the first time he’d doled out punishment to one of his men.

Except this was about more than that, Porsche wasn’t just a meer bodyguard and his father could see the signs. He’d made a mistake in the past, trusting someone that ended up costing the family dearly. This wasn’t the time to hash out these problems. They had to get out of this mess first. Everything else would have to wait.

“Don’t act so tough, man”

“Fuck…You don’t know a darn thing”

“And what are you gonna do?”

Yeah Porsche never did see him as his superior, in Porsche’s eyes Kinn was an equal if not less than. Why he put up with his attitude was a mystery.

“Then I’ll use the bodyguards rule to decide”

This ended up as a ridiculous game of ‘rock paper scissors’ that Porsche couldn’t believe they were using as a way of working out who controlled which direction they would head in next. It was a life and death situation but what the hell right. Kinn had no means to force his authority over him, plus they were kinda shackled together they had little choice. RockPaperScissors was as good a resolution as any. Where’s a darn ‘8 ball’ when you need one? While we're at it we could solve all the world's problems.

Kinn won.

Pfft… Porsche was having none of that!

“You didn’t mention how many times, best out of five!”

Kinn won.

“Yeah! Darn you!” and he wasn’t at all ‘poised mafia boss’ about it either, rubbing it in Porsche’s face was his extreme pleasure.

“Come on man” Porsche tried to wheedle.

“That’s it. We're done.” Kinn huffed. He’d had it, they were wasting time.

Kinn was taking his limited hardwon freaking supremacy and rolling with it goddamn it. Those were the rules Porsche had no choice but to obey him, damn it!

What felt like hours later, painfully tripping over every darn branch as Kinn dragged him behind like some pet on a leash. Porsche was just about ready to murder his boss and drag his bloody carcass around behind him instead, it seemed like a far more attractive use of his time.

“What?” Porsche snapped when Kinn stopped once more looking perplexed at his surroundings. ”We’ve walked for so long and you’ve got us back to where we were”

Kinn really didn't need Porsche’s smart mouth right now, he needed to think.

“I totally agree with the phrase, ‘Stupid leaders will doom us all’ now”

“If you think you can do better, why don’t you lead?”

“Oh absolutely. Thought you wouldn’t ask. Acting all so tough. You follow me.”

Porsche knew he didn’t really know any better where they were going than Kinn did, but he was not about to divulge that to the likes of Khun Kinn. It’s not like he could do any freaking worse.

“Follow me now. I think I hear water running” Porsche yanked him to a stop much to Kinn’s irritation.

“What water?”

“Trust me.”

“What?”

“Come here. Hey, come here. Hey… c’mon this way. Just follow me okay”

Oh crap, they had ended up going around in a circle. He could swear he heard water. This was ridiculous, they were going round in circles and every tree and rock were starting to look the same. Eek except that rock looked an awful lot like the one from bef…

“Where the freak is water? This is exactly the same spot” Kinn was tired, thirsty and pissed off. Porsche was getting on his very last nerve.

“Well, I heard water. Trust me. Let's walk this way.”

“Take a look man”

A tug of war broke out between them but Porsche won and hauled Kinn forever onwards towards this phantom water that only Porsche could darn well hear. Dying by gunfire right at this moment seemed preferable to taking another step with Porsche and his wild goose chase for something that didn’t exist. It was a sad day when dying by gunshot was the more favourable option over suffering from dehydration.

“We survived the bullets. But we are gonna die from dehydration.”

Kinn was furious and feeling a little lightheaded and irrational.

“And that’s on you.” he roared.

“If you're not happy. Go the other way. Don’t follow me.”

Kinn indicated the handcuffs and looked at Porsche like he was particularly stupid.

“You think I love being stuck with you now, huh? If it hadn’t been for you, I would’ve been outta here a long time ago”

“Then break it. So we can go our own ways.”

“Smash it then!”

“Yeah”

“Smash it now. C’mon”

“Come on now. Do it”

“Smash it”

“Right, you asked for it”

“Go on.

“Put your hand over here.”

Porsche started whacking the chain between them with a rock, he was determined now. He wouldn’t put up with Kinn’s righteous attitude any longer.

“Harder”

“I’m doing it”

“Shoot this won’t do”

“I told you. It wasn’t gonna break you stupid…”

“Whatever” and in his fury he spat in Kinn’s face. Kinn wiped at the spittle disgusted at Porsche.

“If you’re such a ‘know-it-all’, when they attacked us, why didn’t you say a darn thing?”

“So, It’s my fault? Wasn’t it because of you, who ran home in the first place?”

Was Kinn really calling him a coward, was this where he wanted to take it.

“Then why did you follow me? If you didn’t follow me, they wouldn’t have come”

“Don’t be a jerk”

“Why can’t I be a jerk? My lifes been a disaster since I met you”

“Your life is mine” he imitated Kinn’s words that he’d uttered so conceitedly at him every time Kinn wanted to lord it over him.

“Darn you!” and Porsche in his anger spat in his face again.

It was so frustrating being forced to be this close to this annoying arsehole.

“You should be able to survive on your own now, moron”

Kinn shoved at him.

Porsche shoved back.

And that’s how it started.

It wasn’t exactly violent. There was plenty of anger. Like a static charge in the air. It was definitely heated but they weren’t necessarily really hurting each other. More like a tussle, a way to let off some steam, but it did have the unfortunate result of having them both sliding down over the edge of the rock they were wrestling on.

Before they had any real chance to start panicking they’d already landed in the water of a shallow stream.

“Hey! Water!” Kinn’s sour expression broke into a grin. Like their previous animosity had just vanished into thin air.

Porsche laughed, splashing water into Kinn’s face with glee and a fair amount of arrogance at being right..

“I told you there’s water. I told you I heard water running”

Okay, Kinn believed him now, Porsche was freaking amazing or just damn lucky. Whatever, Kinn conceded, Porsche was the man!
