Work Text:
Toralei Stripe was staring at the other ghouls that were sitting at the table, wondering why a new ghoul decided to sit with her on the bench. Why is she sitting right here? She wondered and yet, Toralei didn’t tell her to move. In fact, she wasn’t even paying the ghoul that much attention. It was only when she had started to growl at Clawdeen’s stupid book that she had even remembered about the skeleton ghoul sitting beside her. Toralei felt two hands grab her arm and when she turned her head, she couldn’t help but lose herself in the short ghoul’s eyes. Why is she staring at me like that? Toralei didn’t want to believe that the other ghoul was concerned about her.
Her glare grew soft the more she stared at the ghoul and when Toralei remembered to pull her arm away from the skeleton ghoul, she made sure that she didn’t take the ghoul’s arm with her. Toralei huffed as she turned away from the concerned ghoul. “Sorry about that Skelita.” Clawdeen apologized to the skeleton ghoul and Toralei turned her head back to the small ghoul. Toralei smiled softly, hoping that no one else saw it but when she locked eyes with Skelita, she cursed as she turned away.
“You’re nice in your own way.” Skelita voiced and Toralei’s face soured, causing Skelita to giggle.
“I’m not nice.” Toralei said, pouting. And yet, Clawdeen didn’t miss the way Toralei had smiled when Skelita giggled. She’s something else. Clawdeen thought as she watched the two interact.
