Work Text:
Dear Izuku
I hope that America is treating you well. I’ve been following the news there. I’ve seen the splash you’ve already created by being yourself. Your charity work and your work as a Hero are amazing. I’m proud of you for how much progress you’re making. You’re wonderful and you’re motivating me to work hard too.
Things are the same in Japan. The Chaos 1A Agency isn’t the same without you, but we’re doing our best. Tenya is leading the class well in your absence and Momo is working well as his right hand woman.
I’m trying to occupy my time as best I can. Underground work is hard, but I feel like I’m in the place I’m meant to be, so that’s helping a lot with my motivation. Aizawa-sensei was a wonderful teacher and I’m working with Heroes that I imagine even you haven’t heard of. When you return from the states, I promise to introduce you to my colleagues so you can talk to them about Quirks.
I’ve also taken to volunteering in the animal shelters Koji visits the most. There’s lots of cats there, but I won’t adopt one unless you approve of it.
Love, Shouto
Dear Shouto
Thank you for all your encouragement and kind words! America has been a lot of fun, especially with Melissa showing me around. It would’ve been really lonely without her and I’m grateful to her for being so hospitable to me. I’ve also made a few friends here too.
I’m glad things are going well for the Agency. I’ve also been watching the news. That take down of the Villain Duo Slip and Slide was really impressive! I wonder when Mashirao learned that new technique with his tail, or when Toru made those adjustments to her costume to make her shine even brighter!
I’m so proud of you for deciding to follow work that makes you feel happy and fulfilled. Aizawa-sensei really was amazing and we were lucky to have him. I can’t wait to meet your colleagues! If you want, maybe I can convince some of my colleagues in the states to come to Japan and meet you at some point. It could help us strengthen international relationships too, which is always good.
If you want to adopt a cat, I’m sure I’ll approve of whatever one you pick. I trust you. Just make yourself happy.
Love, Izuku
Dear Izuku
I’m grateful to Melissa for helping you out. Please don’t put her through too much trouble, we all know what you’re like.
Slip and Slide are doing well as far as their rehabilitation is going, now that they’ve agreed to do it. It appears the two of them were only attacking the pharmacy due to not being able to afford Slip’s medication. As part of the program, they’re getting it for free so long as they put in their hours and do the workshops. They’re taking well to it and Mashirao is a good mentor for them. I imagine they’ll try to become his sidekicks if they get their provisional licences.
Considering how many Heroes we have in Japan, strengthening international relationships and giving Japanese Heroes the chance to work elsewhere is a good idea. I read your report on how many places in Europe have a lower Quirked population. Maybe they’d benefit from more Heroes in Japan travelling there.
There is one particular cat I’m fond of, but I want you to meet him first. Which means you need to visit. You can’t work all the time, Symbol of Change. You need to rest sometimes.
Love, Shouto
Dear Shouto
Oh come on, Shouto, I’m not as bad as I was in high school. I promise I’m not making trouble for Melissa at all! Actually, she’s enjoying making gear for me.
I’m so grateful to know that the rehabilitation process is going well. The HPSC were so against it at first when we tried to bring it up, even after proving it works with Tenko, Touya and Himiko. Thankfully Mera had our backs and pushed to make it happen. All Might and Aizawa eventually came to agree.
I’m glad you liked my report! I was worried I was talking nonsense. After everything that happened in Otheon and meeting Rody, I spent a lot of time thinking about how few Heroes were there and how the current Hero System doesn’t help someone like him. It’s changing though. Now even when people commit crimes, they have the chance to be redeemed and have a new life. We’re working to tackle the sources too and it’s really working wonders.
I’ll try to visit soon, okay? I’m in the middle of an important time sensitive case right now, but I’ll come home when I can. Is that alright with you?
Love, Izuku
Polly Feight is a postal worker and a huge romantic and she loves surprises too. But it’s not often that she gets to combine all three of those things together.
“Hi Feight-san.” Izuku takes off his cap, smiling. “Got any letters for me?”
Polly rolls her eyes at him using her last name (she’s used to it by now but she can’t understand why Japanese people insist on it) and smiles. “I actually have a special delivery for you, but it may take a little while to find it. Let me go get it.”
Izuku blinks but nods. “Okay then, sure!”
Polly heads into the backroom, where that special delivery is waiting. The cat in the crate meows upon seeing her, a stupid little orange cat. Orange cats are always cute little himbos.
Polly giggles. “Ready to meet your daddy, Puppy?”
The orange cat meows.
Polly picks the cat up and picks up the radio on her hip. “Get ready to walk in, Agent Comet.”
“ Okay then. ” Comes the monotone reply.
Polly puts the radio back on her hip and smiles as she walks back to the waiting room with the cat. Izuku is glancing at his phone, smiling bashfully as he types, probably texting someone or reading fanfic. Who knows, who cares, she’s got a romantic plan to help with.
“Here’s your special delivery!” Polly calls out, holding the cat crate above her head.
Izuku looks up, blinking in surprise as he pockets his phone. “Is… is that a cat?”
The silly orange cat meows.
“I’m assuming so!” Polly replies, putting the crate in Izuku’s arms. “Apparently a special deliveryman came in with him today.”
Izuku’s eyes widen, looking at the crate. “A special deliveryman?”
Right on cue, the front door opens and in walks Shouto, calling out. “Special delivery.”
Izuku turns on the spot, gaping at him.
Shouto smiles at him. “Hi Izuku. I thought you should meet Puppy.”
Izuku beams and puts the crate on the ground, running over to him. “Shouto!”
The two hug and kiss and Polly dances on the spot, giggling excitedly.
She is a postal worker and a huge romantic and she loves surprises. So this has been the perfect day for her.
