Subaru’s heart thumped wildly in her chest. A mixture of excitement and a tinge of worry swelled inside of her. Taking a deep breath she took one last look at her bridesmaids who were attending to the last of the finishing touches on her wedding gown being reassured by their presence.

It wasnt too long ago back in her world that the girl didnt have anyone. She never expected to have friends to even be bridesmaids, let alone ever having a wedding at all.

While the wedding itself was elegant it wasn’t particularly large, with the attendance on Reinhard’s side being relatively sparse. Looking toward his side of the seating as she approached the aisle she was surprised to see the fading red hair of Heinkel as he was fussing with his suit.

Smiling to herself she knew it meant alot for him to show up for Reinhard.

Typically the father of the bride would walk her down the aisle, but this was impossible for the girl. This was something that weighed heavily on her during the planning as she came to the depressing realization that her parents would most likely never know that she was able to recover from her depressive episode, and now was living happily. But she knew that they would be elated at who she became in her short time here. Only imagining how her family would react to meeting Reinhard. Snickering to herself she envisioned her father a little hesitant and serious at first, all worried that his precious girl was being taken advantage of or tricked by this man. Only for him to come to the full realization after a short conversation that he had nothing to fear for his daughter.

With her parents absent she instead asked of Wilhelm to take the place of walking her down the aisle, to which he accepted with the highest degree of honor.

Her head felt light as she took her first step toward Reinhard, with dozens of sets of eyes from their closest friends turned to gaze at her. She knew at a time even just a few months ago she would have had a panic attack from all the attention… but now the only thought on her mind was reaching Reinhard, reaching the one she loved so she could seal their intertwined destiny for the rest of their lives.

When the time came for the vows she felt her heart thumping heavily in her chest. Her head felt warm and airy as she looked up to meet his eyes. Feeling her heart soar as she saw a warm and happy smile spread on his face she knew she finally found peace.

With the cue for Reinhard to begin his set of vows they took each other's hands o so gently. Feeling the warm gentle heat form a bond between them.
“Subaru… from the day we met you have inspired me. Your bravery, your selflessness, your beauty, and your compassion, truly I have never met anyone as wondrous as you. Not in a million years could I have hoped to match the seemingly impossible feats you have done, nor the countless lives you have saved, including my own. Even when I was at my lowest you stuck by my side, you made me feel love that I never expected to feel in my life. You gave me purpose… meaning in life. When i'm with you I truly feel as happy as can be, feelings that I tucked away so long ago you awakened again. You are my best friend. Today I with all earnestness promise myself to you in marriage. I promise to strive to protect and aid you in all affairs, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you until my last breath, and against any obstacle. And I promise to cherish you and to always hold you in the highest regard. I can say it now, and forever… I LOVE YOU SUBARU!”

Subaru gripped his hands a bit tighter, leaning in as her face now bright red under the veil. A sight to behold by Reinhard when paired with her ear to ear smile. Taking a deep breath she mentally prepared for her cue to start the speech she practiced a hundred times. A speech that she didnt want to turn out like her bumbling confession. Letting out a nervous chuckle she began.

“ehheh … Reinhard… well. This really does feel like a real life fairy tale for me. Never in a million-billion years did I expect someone as amazing as you to l-love me back.-”

Feeling her breath go funny for a moment she still had the strength to continue. She had grown alot in her socialization since entering this new world.

“I-I really do love you with all my heart…and I wish everyone else could understand how amazing you are too.”

Realizing that she essentially just repeated herself she took another breath. As they slowly and naturally continued inching closer to one another. Feeling her heart flutter again as she saw a rare blush creeping on his cheeks with his mouth hung open slightly in a dopey smile.

“From the day we met, you cared for me when I was at my lowest, and you saved me in more ways than one… I really don't think I would have made it without you… because even before I came here I was ready to give up… but then I-I met you! M-my SUPERMAN! The one who was always there to make me smile! The one who made me see how beautiful this world is! The one who made me see how beautiful life is! The one who blows every crummy otome romance out of the water! So for now and forever you will have my thanks and my love!!”

Subaru felt the tears flow heavily down her cheeks, but unlike the tears of sadness and despair back when she was in her world these tears were of pure joy.

Giggling gently as Reinhard’s warm hand softly cupped her cheek sneaking under the veil brushing the tears away, closing the distance between them even further.

The rest seemed to blur in a beautiful mess of warmth spreading on every fiber of her being.

It was time

A soft topped bed… their plushies of one another reunited at last!
With their plushies sitting comfortably at the top of the bed softly intertwined, the now wedded couple were in the exact opposite position. Sitting at the base of the bed they awkwardly held hands while taking nervous glances at one another. Each time one was about to speak they quickly shut their mouth and turned away with their faces bright red.

Her heart felt like it was going to burst from her chest being so close that she could almost her his heartbeat.

While during her time as a recluse she indulged countless times in doujins but the thought of him doing even a french kiss to her made her face turn bright red. Even the fiery heat of his hands wrapped around her own made the girl nearly pass out from excitement.

She originally thought that she wanted to do all these perverted things that were featured in the doujins, but now she realized that all she wanted was his affection and love. She now realized that the distance between them was shortened once again, as she was now practically on top of him. Taking a glance over his bare body this was the first time she (actually) saw him naked.

Biting back a dirty grin she couldn't help but give herself a metaphorical pat on the back for how close her guess during his drawing got.

As she was lost in her thoughts one of his hands slipped away from her’s and instead found itself traveling down her bare side finding its way to her hips, leaving a trail of fireworks down her body.

Feeling her throat close up as she took a breath to steel herself she opened her mouth once again to speak. Taking a glance further down his body she couldn't help but let out a nervous giggle as her eyes widened, and her back straighten.

Reinhard perked up, readjusting himself before saying with all earnesty pulling her closer so they were touching.

"Of course! I'm always happy to see you, Subaru!" With his face in a unusually playful mood.

“ah-ha -ah” Subaru’s breathing went erratic as she was gently guided down as they shared a kiss.

Her mind went blank, and judging from his face she knew that he was feeling the same. The kisses they shared before didnt feel like this, now each and every increasingly intense kiss they shared made her entire body feel hot.

Reinhard in a rare display, showed his feelings completely outright with his own heavy breathing matching her quick erratic breaths.

As their hands started to make gentle explorations of each other Reinhard paused for a moment.
“ah- Dont worry Subaru I made sure to acquire a very specific Divine Protection for tonight…”

With a nervous smirk now plastered on her face she stammered out.
“P-protection…eheh but I thought we were trying for a baby?”

With his gentle ‘matter of fact’ tone paired with his increasingly erratic breath’s as they gently helped each other remove their last bits of clothing he softly spoke.
“Well… this specific Divine Protection is a quite ancient one… it was owned by a certain king and it ensured that his wife always had a safe and healthy pregnancy…”
Her eyes going wide, she impulsively decided to make the first real move with her hands exploring lower and lower…. Until she heard a soft moan and looking down to see ‘it’ warm and growing wrapped in her hands.

With her eyes and mouth wide from shock she sat there puzzled for a moment just wondering how this was going to work before nervously stammering out through her own heavy panting.

“Ehehe- I-I guess THATS the real d-dragon sword!”

Subaru hummed softly with their baby safely bundled up being rocked in her arms.

Feeling a deep happiness that a few years ago she never would have imagined she would have ever experienced.

She noticed a change in Reinhard as well, as they both now felt truly at ease. They both now had a chance to live a warm, and cozy life together.

Talking a leisurely stroll around their room she took a peek at her old artwork and questionable stories that had been so neatly organized and stored away at her desk. Then over to their homemade plushies of one another that forever acted as decor for their bed tucked up by the pillows.

Looking out the window she noticed the peaking of a carriage over the horizon. Feeling her heart flutter as it always did when he returned, she rushed down to meet him.

As she arrived at the front door, she took note that Wilhelm was already waiting in attention giving her a smile. With his duty being fulfilled to the highest level of sincerity the Old Warrior protected her and her daughter with all his might. And much to her joy his relationship with his grandson had improved drastically.

The door spun open as Reinhard entered, his eyes frantically searching for a moment before locking on Subaru, and their child. Closing the distance in less than a blink she was o so gently picked up in an encompassing hug.

The 3 remained there basking in the happy warmth that overtook them, giggling softly to themselves as they hugged and snuggled with baby “ Theresia ” cooing happily.
Epilogue

The story of a girl who was lost, and alone in the world, and a boy who once buckled under the weight of the world on his shoulders.

House Astrea, once on the brink of collapse now once again is brimming with life. It's been decades now since they first married but their love hadn’t falter since it began o so long ago
With their children having grown wonderfully, and starting families of their own. The pair had officially become grandparents.

And today was a special day, with all their family at the estate, a whopping 5 children, 12 grandchildren(with 2 more on the way). They could properly celebrate their youngest child’s engagement!

As they say there softly, reveling in the celebration. The swelling of joyous voices, and laughter around them made them smile at one another. All Subaru could ever wish for in her heart, was for when it was her time to pass, that see him again in another life… so they may fall in love all over again.

For this day, a once tormented woman named Subaru Astrea had felt the joy of her once broken life being rebuilt from zero.
