The famous twins were a storm at the kindergarten where it caught all the children's attention on their arrival. Lumine, the oldest twin sister, was tomboyish and a confident little troublemaker, but super overprotective of her little brother. Aether, the youngest twin is very shy, but has the brightest and prettiest smile. All the children gathered together at the center of the classroom. Everyone is excited to talk to the twins, about where they’re from, who their favorite superhero is and what their favorite snack is. Everyone got acquainted with the twins and have befriended each other and made their own groups.
Lumine formed a group with her twin, a boy named Xiao with his cousin Ganyu and lastly Lumine 's best friend Amber. The girls were chatting in their own corner, while Xiao and Aether greeted each other. Aether was shy, but did his best to talk with Xiao. The boys got to know each other's likes and dislikes. Joking around and sitting comfortably together, Xiao sees all of Aether's expressions. When he is sad, he pouts. When he laughs, his giggles are like windchimes against the wind. When he is happy, his golden eyes sparkles and shine like the sun. Xiao felt butterflies in his stomach, but he felt happy and started to smile with Aether. They interact and get to know each other over the few months. One day in kindergarten, Xiao gave Aether flowers and Aether placed them in a vase filled with cool water against the sunny window. Xiao looked at Aether with an awe-struck look as he saw the gentle smile of the flower he gave him.
Suddenly Amber screamed with excitement as she chased Lumine around the room. Ganyu suddenly jumped behind Xiao to hide, Amber stopped running as she looked back and forth. Aether leaned closer to Xiao as he whispered to his cousin about what game they’re playing. Xiao was nervous as he felt Aether breath tickling his neck. Ganyu softly told Aether they were playing tag. Aether leaned back as he asked Xiao if he wanted to join the game. Xiao nodded. Lumine tackled Aether in a hug as she ran out of breath from running around the room. “Ae! Switch places with me!” Aether laughed as he hugged back his sister. “We wanna play too!”
Amber heard what Aether said and started to cheer, Ganyu giggled, but started to run when Amber spotted her. Amber yelled “You guys get a head start to run! I’ll count to 10!” Lumine pulled Aether away to run and Xiao went the other way. Going as far as they could distance themselves from Amber. 10 seconds passed and Amber was already chasing Ganyu at the corner of the room. Amber caught up to Ganyu with the biggest grin, “You’re it, Ganyu!” Lumine and Aether cheered for Amber as she started to run off. Xiao slowed his pace to check on his cousin who is out of breath. Aether noticed Ganyu almost tripping and separated himself from Lumine to check on her.
Aether smiled and gave a hand to Ganyu, she took it and Aether whispered “Ganyu? Want a time out?” Nodding her head, as Aether helped her sit at the playhouse corner. Xiao walked over to them to check on his cousin, Ganyu said she was tired. Aether looked at Xiao with a grin and warned “Better run, Xiao. I’m now it!” Aether let the boy run ahead, before he gave chase. Lumine cheered her brother on from a distance and Amber laughed at how Xiao was running so fast to get away from the younger twin. Aether closing on Xiao, suddenly he tackled him down in a hug against the rugged floor. Aether's arms around Xiao's waist and Xiao holding Aether in a embrace. Aether laughed out loud and Xiao's heart was racing, his ears turning red and nervously looked away.
The game of tag lasted for a while,the kids finally stopped and lay on the rug catching their breaths. Lumine lay on the ground who cheered for never being “it” and Ganyu clapped for Lumine. Xiao sitting down on the ground, wiping his cheek with his sleeve. Aether taking long deep breaths on the floor. Amber pouts for being the last one to be “it.” Catching their breath, Lumine suddenly blurted out a random question, “Do you know what’s a chu?” Everyone shook their heads and turned their attention to Lumine. She turned on her stomach to show a big grin. “A chu is a kiss!” Amber clapped her hands as she recalled about her mom and dad. “This morning, mama gave papa a kiss on the cheek! Then papa kisses on here!” Amber covered his mouth and giggled on how happy her parents were.
Ganyu was confused and asked “A chu is a kiss. Why you chu?” Aether sat up and raised his hand up to answer “Cause they’re special!” Amber, sitting criss-crossed and excitedly rocking back and forth, agreed with Aether. Xiao let out a huff of air and comment “Stupid” Lumine got up from her arms and yelled “It’s not!” Xiao argued it was. They bickered back and forth. Aether hugged Lumine on the side and gave a chu on her cheek. Lumine giggled and hugged her twin back. Aether let out a laugh as his sister did the same. Xiao puffs his cheeks as he pouts at the twins. Lumine proudly states “See, I’m special! And so is Ae!” Xiao corrected to them what a chu means “You kiss someone you like.” Confused noise came out as Lumine hugged her brother tighter and said “I like Ae!” Xiao grumbled “I like him too.”
Amber cooed and poked Xiao on the arm, “Are you jelly?” Xiao glared and stated “You can only kiss one you like like, most special.” Ganyu twindeled her fingers as she said “Mommy and Daddy said they like each other and it was their first chu together. Ganyu shly hid her mouth and stated “I want my first chu like mommy had hers.” Amber bluntly said “My first chu will be papa!” Lumine's cheeks became flushed as she looked at Aether with sparkling eyes “Dain Dain will be my first chu!” Aether nodded and cheered his sister on. Xiao laughed and caused Lumine to pout then she asked “Who you wanna give first chu to, Xiao!?” Xiao looked away, but glanced at Aether who tilted his head. Xiao stated “Person I like like.” Lumine booed at him.
Amber asked Aether what he wanted for his chu, “A person that is like candy?” Lumine giggled, “Sweet like dessert?” Aether nodded his head with a silly grin. They heard the call from Miss Jean that it was lunch time. The children hurriedly got up and rushed towards their lockers for their lunch bags. Everyone was enjoying their lunch, the little group chatting and sharing their goodies. While Xiao didn’t eat anything else but his Almond Tofu as kept glancing at Aether who ate his salad happily. After lunch, everyone prepared their reading session. Everyone formed duos and took their seats on big cushions to read their shared books. Xiao paired up with Aether as he listened to his soft voice and took turns to read.
After an hour or so, they finished their book and prepared nap time.
They stayed at the same spot, but moved the cushions together and grabbed their own blanket. Aether talks to Xiao about their plans after school or what they will do at home. As time passes by, Aether dozes off and Xiao watches him get comfortable on the cushion, leaning closer to Xiao's side. As the room became more quiet, Xiao could hear his heart beating loudly, he looked at his surroundings. Aether softly breathing as he curled into his blanket, like a cat taking a nap. Xiao eyes see the long blonde lashes, the fluffy blonde hair sticking out of the blanket and the pink lips that softly open and close. As the clock ticked from the wall, Xiao lowered Aether’s blanket a bit down as he leaned closer to him. Feeling the tingles of Aether breath on him wasn’t good for his heart. He licked his lips and gently pressed his lips on Aether's forehead.
` The boy shifted in his sleep, to lean closer to Xiao cushion. Xiao layed down and wrapped himself with the blanket, as he looked at Aether. Xiao lowered his head and slowly pressed his lips on Aether’s cheek. Feeling flustered, he stopped and looked around one more time and took a deep breath as he leaned above Aether. Xiao got closer to Aether lips then a “chu” sound was heard as Xiao leaned back to his cushion. He turned away and discreetly covered his lips to feel the sweetness and how warm he felt on his lips.
