Summary:

Mei, after coming to realize that she felt a certain way towards one Izuku Midoriya, decides to follow some good old fashion advice that her mother gave her to get the guy she desired! Izuku x Mei one shot. Summary sucks I know, I had no idea what to really put here.

Notes:

First time posting someone here on this site. I'll still mainly stick to my Fanfiction.Net Account but I'll post one shots that I've done here as long as I don't forget this account here exists haha.

I wanted to do a one shot for this pairing, so here you go. It will probably suck, but eh, still wanted to do this.
Enjoy, or not, I don’t care you all have your opinions.

Work Text:

If Mei Hatsume was to be honest, she never did think she would ever begin to think about anything other than working on her babies. Ever since she was young, she always desired to create whatever came to her mind. That urge practically motivated her throughout her life, build whatever she could and if it worked, great! If it didn’t, also great! Failure was just a stepping stone for her to improve her babies to even greater heights!

And now, being a student of the Support Department of U.A. High, one of the best heroic schools in all of Japan her dream to one day become the future CEO of her own support company to build the best babies for heroics and all sorts of other stuff for everyday lives was well on its way to become a reality! And hardly any issues popped up to slow her progress! Granted Power Loader did complain about her babies exploding or backfiring in some way which caused her to sometimes get restricted or banned from the Support Department Workshop, but eh, she saw it as progress regardless even if did get on her nerves or get her to be sad sometimes. So what if they sometime exploded? They became less frequent as the school year went by, so she counted that as an absolute win! And so what if she didn’t get much sleep, washed herself or properly ate her meals more often than not? Who has time for that when she can continue working on her babies! Besides, she was getting better at those lately also, so it was all still good!

Though, that point was related to what was currently plaguing her normally busy mind. For while she had hardly any issues, recently something, or more specifically someone had slowly but surely crept into her mind and refusing to go away.

That someone being Izuku Midoriya from the Heroic Department of Class 1-A.

She didn’t really know when it started if she were to be honest. Maybe it was when she first teamed up with him during the Sports Festival a while back during the Calvary Battle. Or maybe it was when he and a couple of his fellow classmates came to get an upgrade for his suit for the first time with her. Or maybe it was at some other random point that she can’t recall.

But where it started mattered little, only that it did. And now, when she once only thought of building her babies and getting them out there for all to awe and enjoy at, the dark green haired freckled faced heroic student would be the one her mind would dwell on.

At first, she didn’t understand why. She knew she could be… ecstatic when it came to her personality and when it came to working on her babies further, which kind of off putted some people. But she never really did care, as long as she could work on her babies and ensure they can help heroes or others who required her works she didn’t care what others thought of her. Even Power Loader was someone who due to her antics sometimes get under his skin due to malfunctions of her babies or not taking care of herself properly or whatever else similar to those. Her fellow classmates, while polite and knew she had a bright mind, still felt like she could be a bit too much sometimes and try to keep their personal space between her and them.

  But not Izuku.

While many like her teacher and others appreciated her babies, hearing the praises from him when she upgraded or repaired his suit, the joy and excitement in his eyes always stuck with her. Sometimes when he would visit the Workshop, while others just want what they wanted and be done with it, he would get interested with whatever baby she was working on and even give some suggestions. It was always so much fun when the two end up going into hours of just discussing ideas or suggestions for her babies, or for his own gear or how her babies can benefit someone’s quirk for combat or whatever reason it could be.

It was… nice. It honestly felt great just to have someone to just share ideas with, no matter how impractical or outlandish some of those ideas may be. Granted she would admit most of those type of ideas was from her, but that was unimportant. The fact that she had someone who didn’t mind her the way she acted and how she thought of who knows what was refreshing to her. Plus, the fact he appreciated her babies immensely was always a huge positive in her book.

Then eventually came the caring. Like she admitted, things like eating her meals, cleaning herself or sleeping was just a waste of time when she could be using that time to work on her babies. But due to Izuku’s insistence, she found herself taking more proper care of herself, often thanks to Izuku aiding in the effort.

Like when it came to eating lunch, she only really ate it when he was eating lunch with her, sometimes in the cafeteria where every other student would be at or in the comfort of the Support Department Workshop. He would keep her company as they ate, and sometimes he would have to feed her himself which she may or may not practically told him to do so while she was focus on writing down ideas for any potential babies she could create. The first time she asked him that his face resembled that of a tomato, but he got better overtime even if he still gets some blush to his cheeks.

When it came to sleeping… well she was on her own for that one despite wondering how him having next to her as a cuddle buddy did sometimes pop into her mind every now and then. But he would sometimes carry her back to the dorms and to her own room, and sometimes she would find herself falling asleep as he carried her to her room. It wasn’t her fault his arms were comfy and his chest made a good pillow to rest on! Sometimes hearing the beating of his heart acted rather… soothing to her which helps lure her to sleep. She didn’t quite get why at first, only that she really enjoyed it.

And the washing was also done on her own. She didn’t quite get why her wanting him to wash up in a bath or a shower with her caused him to make the best impression of a tomato again as he stuttered out random gibberish in response. Saying how that was apparently too inappropriate for him to do that, which still didn’t make sense to her. If it was him, she had no problem sharing a bath or a shower. But alas, he seemed too nervous to do so. But if it meant getting him to smile when seeing her all refresh, she would gladly do so.

Even though seeing him freak out like that made him extremely adorable in her eyes.

That leads to the next thing. She found herself noticing him and his looks far more than she did normally and previously as time went on. She even remembered how she felt him up to get a good idea for upgrading his costume even if he froze up when she did so. Mei didn’t think on it too much, but now with her recent revelations she came about him, she realized she really enjoyed what she felt. She also found herself sometimes admiring him from afar, seeing how adorable he was able to be while finding herself drawn every time a determined look appeared in his eyes, or how when his face went red in embarrassment added to the cute factor he had. It all just helped made Izuku… well, Izuku.

If that wasn’t enough, the pink haired girl found herself… maybe worrying wasn’t the right word, but it was something of that regard that she felt over the dark green haired teen. When he came in with some injuries from hero training or due to some villain that he would come across (He really had terrible luck when it came to encountering villains the more she thought on it), she abandoned everything she was currently doing and simply freighting over him, while ensuring that when repairing or upgrading his gear became the top most priority to ensure he would be better protected. To make sure he didn’t get hurt as much as possible if she could do something about it.

She knew heroics were a dangerous business, and despite lacking in social cues she knew that now with All Might retired, things were only getting worse. Seeing the guy who was always on her mind could one day get hurt in ways he can’t recover from only drove her to ensure that her babies protected him the best they possibly could.

That alone really got her thinking. Why did she end up caring so much about him? Was it because he was her friend? Friends did care about each other, but even others who she could say were friends, or at least acquaintances, never went as far as Izuku did when it came to all the time they end up spending together. They never had her feeling or thinking in ways that Izuku had her doing. She never felt relaxed, at ease, inspired, happy and so forth so much like how Izuku made her feel. The way she enjoyed hearing his heart beating when he carried her back to her dorm room to sleep, the way she enjoyed sharing and working on ideas for potential babies to invent with him, the way she enjoyed how they would have lunch together as he listened on to whatever she would talk about as he helped feed her sometimes, the way she just… loved being around him. It was as if Izuku was like a drug for her, a drug she cannot get enough of no matter how much time she would spend with him. A simple smile from him could brighten her day, his praises energizing her making her feel like she could build a whole planet, like he… made her feel completed.

With all of this she felt and thought off for a while now, as well as a very helpful call from her parents when she asked about these thoughts and feelings she had, she quickly came to realize why she enjoyed and cared so much for the dark green haired student.

  Love.

  She realized she loved him.

Some may say love was a strong word to use, but the pink haired inventor knew that this was what she felt towards Izuku. There was no other way of explaining why she felt the way she did and the thoughts of him that filled her mind… and the occasional not so innocent dream, but that was beside the point.

And now that she knew this, and after a call with her parents for advice, she knew what she had to do.

It was time to get herself the love of her life, the Hatsume way!

‘LATER THAT EVENING’

The class of heroes in training weren’t really doing anything too crazy after a busy day in the hero course; now residing in the common room of their dorm building. A few were either watching something on their phones together, playing video games like Super Might Heroes which totally wasn’t a Super Smash Brothers rip off in anyway shape or form (Yes even after a century or two passing when Quirks appeared the Smash Brothers series lived on), going over the latest hero debut of the day or simply chatting with one another. Even Bakugou was still out to hang out, if only because Kirishima and Kaminari betted him that he wouldn’t be that good at the game they were playing which set him off like one would expect. Overall, everyone was relaxed and simply winding down after the day.

Thus, no one ever really expected for the one and only Mei Hatsume to suddenly arrive by literally kicking the door of their dormitory wide open, getting nearly all of them to jump and yelp in surprise from the sudden appearance.

“Izuku! I require your assistance!” Mei shouted with her usual wide smile on her face, quickly scanning the room before spotting the target of her recently discovered affections nearby in the kitchen, using her Zoom Quirk to lock onto him, taking note of his surprise on his face.

Said dark green haired heroic student was standing around with Ochako, Tenya and Shouto discussing about today’s school and heroic lessons, with him having been in the middle of writing something down in one of his notebooks when the pink haired inventor appeared. Not really paying much attention to any of the confusion and surprise that the other students in the room had nor paying much attention to anything they may be saying or questioning, the Support student beelined towards where he was with haste.

“Mei?” Izuku questioned with confusion, the surprise dying down quickly after her initial arrival of kicking the door to their dormitory wide open. Hearing her name come out of his mouth is something Hatsume would never get tired of, “What do you-?”

“Not here! Come with me! It’s extremely important!” Mei cut him off, quickly snatching his free hand with one of her own getting the dark green haired teen to blush from the action, and not wasting any moment, quickly turned around and began dragging him out of the 1-A dormitory.

“Mei, slow down!” Izuku stuttered out, his blush still on his face from their hands intwined together while he stumbled behind her.

His words fell on deaf ears as Mei towed him out of the building, leaving a befuddled Class 1-A behind as they all looked towards where Mei and Izuku exited. Needless to say, no one really knew what to say after that.

“…That was weird.” Jirou broke the silence, her sight still glued to the doors where their fellow classmate and friend was just dragged through out of sight and hearing.

“Yeah, wonder what Hatsume wants with him.” Ojirou shared his words, finding what just transpired odd also. Hatsume never really did come to their dorm before, so whatever she needed must be important enough for her to do so.

“Probably wanting him to test out some new invention she built.” Hanta figured as he shrugged with his hands still on his controller, not seeing the big deal since what else could the energetic Support Student have need of Midoriya?

“Poor Midori, being needed as a guinea pig for her to test on.” Mina shook her head in slight amusement, knowing that despite her words about being tested on Midoriya would be fine. Now, usually seeing a boy and girl go someone on their own for who knows what would make the pink skinned girl go all gossip mode, but she knew that wasn’t the case here. Mei was too… well she was too Mei to even think about anything outside of her inventions.

“Who cares what she wants with f**king Deku! Let’s get back to our game so I can kick your asses!” Bakugou shouted like usual, not caring at all what the pink haired girl wanted with his rival, only wanting to get back to playing the game he was facing Kaminari, Kirishima and Serou in.

“And yet I’ve been leading in wins so far.” Denki pointed out with a smug grin, getting Bakugou to resist unleashing an explosion in the idiot’s face.

“F**k you!” Was all he shouted, getting a few laughs from those around him much to his annoyance.

As most others return to whatever they were doing, Ochako couldn’t help but keep staring off to the doors that Mei dragged Izuku through with a blank expression. She knew she shouldn’t feel like this since the brown haired girl knew that Hatsume only wanted Izuku to test some invention out, but she couldn’t help but feel… unease. The two have been getting close with one another over the past few months, what if Mei actually… felt something towards her best friend?

‘I’m overthinking it, can’t let my own feelings get in the way like that.’ Ochako thought to herself, shaking her head from those thoughts. A smile forming on her face as she felt herself relax. This was Mei, like the others stated and her own experiences with the pink haired teenager showed her, Mei probably didn’t care for anything outside of her babies. So, there was nothing to worry about.

…Why did she suddenly feel like as if she was making a mistake in doing so?

‘WITH IZUKU AND MEI’

“Where are we going?” Izuku managed to stutter out, his blush still not having left his, in Mei’s own opinion adorable, freckled face. The Support student was still dragging her across the school grounds towards her own dormitory for her simple yet brilliant plan of action.

“To my room! What I need you for can only be done in there!” Mei told him as she turned to face him for a moment, flashing her smile at him which only got him to increase his blush further. She turned back around continuing to tow the dark green haired heroic student to their destination.

“Oh, in your room?” Izuku questioned, confused before realizing why considering how late it was, “I guess it is a bit late to use the Support Department for what you need right?”

“That and it’s too public for what we’re going to do.” Mei told him, which only puzzled him further.

“Huh?” He questioned, her words confusing him. What did she mean by the Workshop being too public? What did the pink haired inventor planned on working on? And what exactly did she need him for?

“You’ll see! I can’t spoil the surprise!” She told him, once again flashing him her smile before refocusing on the path ahead of her.

The ninth One for All wielder couldn’t help but smile. Seeing her just in her usual joyful and excited self always managed to succeed in lifting his own mood and feeling more relax. He didn’t quite understand why, but Mei was the only one to make him feel that way.

He was snapped out of his thoughts on that before he could dwell on it further when they arrived at the dormitory of 1-H. Mei didn’t waste any time before entering the building with their hands still intwined together, before she towed him up the stairs and towards where her room was at, only getting a few waves at the other Support students of 1-H who were present in the common room before he was taken upstairs.

After another minute, the two arrived at Mei’s room with her opening the door and practically shoved him inside. The pink haired inventor’s room was something one would expect of an inspiring inventor to do, with gadgets and blueprints littered all over her desks and shelves, with some littering the ground also. There was a fake potted plant though near the balcony on the top of one of her shelves, something that Izuku suggested previously to help make the room feel more homier for the Support student. Only a small lamp hanging over her main writing desk was on to emit light in the mostly dark and dimmed room. Her bed was a mess; it always ended up being so once Mei woke up from sleeping.

"Alright Mei listen up! There’s only one sure way to get the man you desire!”

The words of her mother ringing in the Support student’s head as she recalled the phone call with her and her dad while Izuku looked around, no doubt trying to see anything that might have him needed to help Mei with. Since he was doing that, he was unaware when Mei locked the door behind her, making sure no one could interrupt. Not like anyone ever did but better safe than sorry.

“So uh… what did you need my help with Mei?” Izuku asked, turning around to face the pink haired inventor.

His confusion only grew when Mei merely smiled at him. However, it wasn’t like her usual energetic smiles nor was it her normal mischievous smiles when she wanted someone to do something or tricking someone to do what she wanted. It was… softer yet held some sort of emotion behind it that he didn’t quite recognize. Izuku felt himself shiver slightly from the look she had, but yet it wasn’t an unpleasant feeling.

“We’re going to make a baby.” She told him, her odd soft smile not fading in the slightest. If anything, it softened up yet whatever the unknown emotion was also behind it seemed to intensify.

Hearing that got Izuku to relax, figuring that was what she wanted. Yet the odd expression she had was still present which got some puzzlement to remain.

“Heh, I should have figured. What kind of invention did you have in mind? I bet it’s something exciting.” He asked, smiling back at her as she made her way over towards him.

The smile immediately dropped and utter shock and embarrassment took its place when without warning Mei practically tackled him, thus getting them both to fall onto the girl’s bed. The sudden action, while Mei was now practically straddling him as that odd smile of hers grew again, merely got him to beet red with wide almost comical eyes, steam erupting from his head.

“M… Mei?!” Izuku managed to squeak out, feeling himself feel hotter than he ever did previously as Mei leaned over towards him, their chests pressed together with their faces only a few inches apart as she giggled, finding how he sounded adorable and alluring. It was just so Izuku to make a sound like that.

“Oh Izuku,” Mei whispered to him, sending a shiver throughout his body as Mei’s smile soften further, “Who said anything about inventions?”

“You just gotta lock him in a room, pounce on him and make him take responsibility!”

With the advice her mother gave her in her head, Mei begun to do just that as her lips slammed into his own, starting what would be a long night for the two U.A. students. Not that either Izuku or Mei were complaining or anything.

‘SEVENTEEN YEARS LATER’

“-And that was how your dad and I got together! It was also how you were conceived!” Mei finished telling her and Izuku’s eldest son, wiping out some oil that was still on her forehead as she wrapped up her story with a handkerchief that she had on hand from working in their own personal Workshop that was filled with noises of activity all over.

A story that said child clearly didn’t needed nor wanted to hear if the frozen and disturbed expression he had was any indication.

“…Mom, I just asked for advice to ask a girl out. I didn’t need to know how you and dad had me,” He spoke in a soft yet clearly disturbed tone, wishing he could unhear what was just told to him. The sixteen year old, Tensai Midoriya, was a lean muscular young man whose Workshop clothes covered said figure currently. He had wild, messy, and fluffy hair that he got from his father, only his hair was pink in color akin to his mother’s. Freckles decorated his cheeks, and he possessed green colored eyes, features that he got from his father, “Also, isn’t that just… assault?”

“Of course not! Assault would imply no consent! And trust me your dad was all willing once I jumped him! It’s how my mom and dad got together after all, so it works!” Mei casually telling Tensai, who wish he could unhear what his mother decided to share with him. That was the kind of information that should remain a mystery as far as the pink haired male teen was concern.

“I didn’t need to know that.” Tensai responded, already regretting initially asking his mom for advice on how to ask a girl out. He should have just asked dad after he came back from picking up his younger sister Akemi from school. Maybe that would have spared him from hearing such scarring details about his parents that he didn’t want to know.

“Now you do! So, just do that and you’ll get together with any girl you want in no time!” Mei told him with a thumps up.

The noise of a nearby large piece of machinery snatched her attention, turning around to face her latest baby in the works. Grinning and not at all worried, since if there was an error there was a chance for improvement, she grabbed her tools next to her before bolting towards her latest baby.

“Anyway, enough of that for now and let’s get back to work!” She exclaimed happily, bolting towards said machinery in the large activity filled Workshop, which was connected to her and Izuku’s home.

Tensai merely watched on as his mother ran off, still frozen in place as to what his mom just suggested that he should do, along with the knowledge about his parents’ love lives that he was better off not knowing about.

“…I’m just going to wait until dad gets back for advice.” He muttered, before shaking his head and grabbing a few tools laying nearby before running off to help his mom with her babies. If there was one thing he inherited from his mom, it was her love for building all sorts of things.

Better to focus on that than the vivid imagery of his parents doing… that… that his mom had no qualms of putting in his head.

Notes:

Yeah like I said, probably not the best out there but I enjoyed writing it, nothing too serious. There should be more Deku x Mei stuff out there. So what did you all think? Good? Bad? Want me to kill myself? Let me know.

See you all next time, whenever that will be.
