    “So, first,” Ed began, holding the karate belt up and folding it roughly in half, “you’ve gotta make sure you’ve got it symmetrical. Then you start from the front. Mind if I—?”

    “Not at all,” Stede interrupted, lifting his arms reflexively as Ed moved the belt toward his waist, thumbs just brushing against his hips before they disappeared behind him, fingers trailing around the circumference of his body. Oh, God. Ed was… embracing him. Why was this so bloody unnerving?

     

     
    A modern AU retelling of Our Flag Means Death in which Ed is a master Tang Soo Do instructor and Stede is a divorcee history professor who is taking his kids to Ed’s class.
