"Can I be honest with you?"
Marc asked.
"Yeah? Go ahead, be as honest as you possibly can."
Steven Grant stood in front of the floor length mirror in their apartment.
" I hate it, tan is not our colour."
Marc folded his arms and frowned.
He couldn't keep his eyes from staring at Steven up and down and shaking his head disapprovingly.
Not liking color was a weak excuse on Marc's end and Steven knew it.
Steven was fixing himself up and quickly glanced at Marc in the mirror, looking like a disgruntled child purchasing ice cream from a Turkish ice cream man.
Frustrated for not getting what he wanted.
" I think we look kinda sharp, though."
He said. " I honestly like the suit. "
"Of course you would think that."
Marc sighed and walked closer to Steven.
" I might even consider wearing the Mr. Knight suit than this shit."
Steven stopped fiddling with his bow tie a straightened his vest.
"I thought the bride was only one allowed to wear white."
Steven said sarcastically, licking his teeth a few times and stopped after noticing Marc's reflection frown harder at him.
"What are you doing?"
Marc asked in an exasperated tone.
Steven turned to face the man standing behind him.
" Unlike you, I want to look presentable at Layla's wedding, yeah?. So stop acting like Prince William on a Wednesday afternoon and - "
Steven paused and gestured Marc to lower his hands to his sides.
" You tied this yourself?"
Steven questioned.
"Yeah, why?"
Marc replied, touching the tie he had on.
It was a poor attempt at a Half-Windsor knot that somehow offended Steven.
"I can tell."
Marc rolled his eyes and unfolded his arms.
" Jake would've slapped you across the face if he saw that you did this."
Steven undid Marc's and careful started to redo it again.
"Except... you're not Jake."
Marc smirked, staring into eyes similar to his.
Steven's hands moved slowly and intricately whilst fixing the tie hanging off Marc's neck.
Layla had given them three choices in the designs of the groomsmen suits, it would have been easier if Marc chose the one with the clip-on bowtie since he never cares about sharp looking suits unless it was his own wedding, which ended in a dumpster fire, might he add.
She went shopping with Steven and all measurements were taking from him in all departments. Tops, trousers, shoes and so forth.
If it looked good on Steven, it will also look good on Marc and Jake, that was Layla's logic.
This also meant she didn't get to see much of Marc throughout the planning phase of the wedding.
Jake had tried to pretended to be him but his act was instantly cut short when Layla called him out a few minutes later in their trip.
Jake hasn't given any particular reason why he did so but Steven has told her that he doesn't want her know that he cared for her enough to go shopping with her when Steven and Latif weren't around
"No... I'm not Jake now, am I?"
Steven confirmed. Jake wasn't with them that morning, he left the apartment in the early hours of the morning with his suit, saying something along the lines of Khonshu not keeping his promises before angrily shutting the door on his way out.
"Jake would've have been done with that slap then and there. I, on the other hand, am going to remind you, Marc Spector, every single bloody day that you could not execute a simple knot for your tie. A bit bloody embarrassing don't you think, for a bloke your age?"
He fasten his tie a bit too tight, hearing an audible whimper from Marc and used the tie to slowly pull the other man closer to him, staring at him with unnerved hooded eyes.
Marc could've sworn he was on his toes, trying to appear taller than him.
Marc's smirk was present on his face, somehow it only made him more desirable whilst he was being pulled like an animal on a leash by Steven.
"Steven fucking Grant, I want to see all sides of this new petty persona you've picked up."
Marc said huskily, letting their bodies pull themselves together like polar opposite sides of magnets, feeling Steven's chest lightly brushing against his.
Steven could practically smell the bath soap he uses on Marc infused with the deodorant Jake keeps hidden away from them and refuses to tell them what it was. He had the scents of Steven and Jake all over his body and the thought sent waves of pleasure ripple all over Steven's mind and body.
He straightened Marc's tie and slowly moved out the way so that Marc could take a look at his reflection in the mirror.
He took a good look at himself and straighten his hair before accepting a blazer from Steven, covering a white shirt, tan vest and black tie he had on underneath.
"The guy she's marrying better be worth all this crap he's making us wear."
Marc breathed and turned around to face a smiling Steven, who seemed to be picking up a few stuff that were scattered on the bed.
God, Steven made these suits look natural on him, Marc thought.
The Mr. Knight suit, now this.
"Quite a sweet fellow, in all honesty."
He told Marc.
" A bit of a step down from her previous marriage with...you, but she seems happier than ever. Jake has briefly met him and even he seems to like him."
Marc furrowed his brows.
"How'd you know? "
He asks.
"For starters, he hasn't threatened to kill the man"
He pauses.
"...yet... and he is attending the wedding in this exact suit you claim to be hideous."
"He is just doing it for Layla."
"Yes... but he never calls him names, or even swears at him in Spanish."
"Maybe he hasn't come up with one for him yet."
"Marc, Latif is a great fellow."
Steven was packing a few things in a black backpack and managed to give Marc a few glances, noticing he was a bit skeptical about this.
"He's wealthy, his family owns a oil company in Dubai and is okay with Layla being Tawaret's avatar."
Marc stared at Steven.
" You're not exactly making him sound like he doesn't have men who follow him around with guns."
Marc said.
Most of his targets while working for Khonshu were mostly people who fit Steven's description of Latif and they most of them had wives who wanted to get away from them.
The Brit simply sighed at the statement and tried on a smile.
Steven eyed the clock on the wall and then took out his phone to double-check the time.
"We have to go if we don't want to be late, yeah? "
Marc suddenly got closer to Steven, a smile on his face and confidently caressed his lips against Steven's.
Steven fought the urge to entertain Marc's teases, so he did some teasing of his own.
He pressed their lips together gently and grabbed the other man's wrists, holding them in place, not wanting Marc to start messing up his hair.
Steven has grown comfortable enough to do things to Marc that he thought he'd never do in his life.
Then again, he'd never thought he would be in a relationship with a person who he shared the same face with.
The magic used to give Steven and Jake their own bodies was powerful.
They were exact copies of Marc down to the last scar on his body.
Marc slowly pulled away and stared deeply into eyes similar to his.
"Can I be honest with you?"
Marc asked quietly, Steven was close enough to feel every breath he took and every word he said was as clear as day.
" Go ahead, be as honest as you possibly can."
Steven answered in a matching deep, breathy voice.
"I lied, the suit looks amazing on you."
He confessed.
