August 01, 2022. It is just week away from Mary Jane's Birthday.
Peter Parker is swinging across the streets of NY in glowing Moon. Stars are shining.
Peter thinks, while swinging, "This Time, I will gift MJ something special. Last Time wasn't very good."
Flashback
Peter is fighting Rhino in the street. Rhino is running towards Spidey. Spidey dodges the Rhino. He shoots a web line to Rhino's back, making him stop thrashing the cars in his way. Rhino moves backward. He hold the strand from one end and pull Spidey near him. He then punches him. He then land on back of car with few broken ribs. He was running at full speed with him. He thinks, "I need to do it faster. I can't be late for our dinner. I can't mess MJ's birthday." He shoots ball of webbings at his feet. He slowed down a bit. He created a net out of his webbing. He was running faster and angrier. He saw the net. He tried to stop but unfortunately he got stuck in the net. Peter quickly shot few more strands of web at him to have him glued to net.
He then moved towards the alley where he left his bag. Peter was surprised. There was no bag. MJ's gift was robbed. He thinks, "This is the same alley I webbed the bag. I don't even had enough funds and most importantly time for gift." Peter checked few more alley if he is remembering wrong. But He didn't find it anywhere. Peter then swung into their apartment.
It is dim lighted with slow music. He smelled the Aroma of Italian Pasta and Roasted Chicken. They planned that They will spend time together on her birthday.
Peter called out, "Mary Jane"
MJ replied from their bedroom, "Here, Tiger"
Peter moved towards their bedroom. There he saw his Gorgeous wife in strapless red colored dress with her long red wavy hairs. Peter was in absolute awe of it.
MJ said, "Tiger!"
Peter breaks out of it and says, "Babe, You look Gorgeous". He walks towards her. MJ interrupts, "Tiger, Shower first." Peter replied, "Yeah. Got it." Peter moves to take off her torso. MJ noticed the bruises and cut Peter had. Few of them were major and were still bleeding.
MJ said, putting her hand over her mouth, "Oh my God, Peter!" Peter replied, "It's nothing. It will heal in a while." Her heart always breaks whenever he sees Peter wounds. She can get okay with his crime-fighting but she isn't still okay with all these bruises, wounds and cut after all these years. MJ opened the drawer near the bed and took the medical box. He already entered the bathroom. She went behind him and entered. He said, "MJ, There is no need for this. I am fine." She replied, "It doesn't look fine. Cut near your stomach is still open. It looks deep." He said, "Your dress will get ruined." She replied, "I don't care about it." She took the handheld shower in one hand. She releases the water on all of his wounds, washing those wounds. Then she proceeded to disinfect the area. Peter said again, "MJ, There is no need for any of this." MJ didn't listen and instead proceeded further. He shouted, "Ouch." She said, "Don't move. Let me disinfect all those wounds properly." He said again, "MJ, Please. I am fine" She said, "No Open Wounds." Peter realized that he can never win this argument. She wouldn't listen to him in this aspect. He let her stitch wounds as he knew himself that Open Wounds can get infected. She stitched open wounds. He said, "I am sorry, MJ" She asked, "For what?" He replied, "I ruined our plan and Your dress" She interrupts him, "Tiger, It's okay. You are more important for me than those things" He said, "But still" She replied, "Hey, We still have our dinner ready and we still have whole night for ourselves. I can wear anything else. Let's get up, Tiger." He pulled her for quick kiss on her lips.
Present Time
Peter thinks, "I still feel bad about it. She never complained about gift or their plan or anything. But still, it would feel bad. This Time, It would be special."
A Shopkeeper shouted for help. Peter quickly swung towards the source. It was Shocker. He was robbing the place.
Peter said, "Hey, Herman."
Shocker replied, "Spider-Man, You Again."
Peter said, "Yeah. How can I leave my dear Herman alone in the midnight. Someone gotta take responsibility of you."
Peter shot a strand of web towards Herman. He activated new feature in gauntlet. He broke the webbing in mid air with vibrating air around them. He then continues to punch him with his gauntlet vibrating. Peter dodged it. Then he shot another strand of web at him but to his surprise, His webbing didn't stick on him. He realized that his entire body suit was vibrating. This is something new for him.
Herman said, "How was that, Spidey? Shocked." He replied, "It's great. You can do wonder with your intellect but still you choose crime." Peter then swung towards him. Peter managed to break his new gauntlet. Now his body suit wasn't vibrating. He webbed him up. Shopkeeper cursed him for the damage.
He then proceeded towards Herman and asked, "Have you ever been in a relationship?" He replied surprisedly, "What?" He said, "Tell me. Ever been in a relationship?" He replied, "She's dead" He said, "Sorry." "It's okay" He said. "Wanna ask something?" He replied with one hand back his head, "I mean, Yeah." He said, "Go on." He asked, "My wife's birthday is near. Last year, I messed up. I want to gift her something special." He shockingly said, "What? You're married?" He replied affirmative. He said again, "And You're casually telling me this?" He said, "Hey, I know You are loner in your community. No one asks you for anything. I know You aren't type who will go after someone's loved one. You lack gut for that." He was offended a little bit but what Spider said about him was absolutely true. He really lack confidence. He just robs places for earning money. If situation might be different, he would never had to turn to crime. But life hardly goes as you desire it to be. He said, "You know me well." He replied, "We have been doing this-Me stopping you from robbing-for god knows like 20-25 years. Anyways back to point, What do you think I should do?" He thought for a while and then said, "Take it from experience. If You two really love each other a lot, You don't really need to plan something big. Planning something would obviously surprise her. He would definitely be happy. But more than that, Spent Time with her. That day, I recommend you to take a off. Make her feel special. If you wanted to gift her something, then Only You can find the perfect present for her. Find Yourself while thinking about time spent with her." Peter already knows all of this but listening from someone else made him realize it again. Sound of Police Sirens were nearing. Peter said, "Thanks, Herman. Hey, This time when you'll get outside of Prison, Don't turn to Robbery. Take this card and contact it. I'll talk for you." Herman said, "Thanks. Also, Have her feel loved everyday. Spend time with her before life snatches time." This was something that stuck to Peter's heart. He knows losing someone you loved. He also felt like that was something that was stuck to Herman too.
August 08, 2022. Mary Jane's Birthday Eve. 5:00 PM.
He swung towards Baxter Building. He entered Baxter Building. Sue welcomed him. Peter asks, "Is Everything ready?" Sue replied, "Of Course, Pete. We had decorated the space for you two. Johnny and Franklin are acting like some sort of perfectionist for the decoration." Peter said, "Thanks a lot for this." She said smiling, "Anything for both of you cuties." He blushed. Sue said, while handing a teleportation device to him, "Take these. Instead of swinging, Teleport here. Faster. Both of you would have your cloth intact." He said, "Thanks." He left.
Peter then went to their apartment. MJ hasn't come back yet from the shoot. Peter still had time to iron his suit for tomorrow. He went to shower.
8:00 PM. MJ had returned. MJ is exhausted. Happily today, She didn't have much shots to act. Peter welcomed her. He hadn't told her yet anything. He had prepared the dinner already. They had dinner. After that, They planned to watch a film today while being cozy in bed.
12:00 AM. Aug 09, 2022. Special Day. MJ's 40th Birthday.
Both of them hasn't sleep yet. But Room is silent. Peter's arm are wrapped around MJ. MJ's head rest on his chest. Peter said while kissing her or forehead, "Happy Birthday, My Love." MJ blushingly said, "Thank You, Tiger." He said, "Ma'am, This Day is gonna be best day in your life." She said, "What you are planning?" He said, "It's surprise. But for now, Your present is here." Peter opens bedside drawer. She opened the gift. It was a beautiful dress. MJ thanked him. Peter asked her to wear it on her surprise Party. MJ nodded. For now, They are just cuddling in their bed while being Cozy.
Morning. 8:00 AM. Peter woke MJ with a breakfast in bed.
Peter said, "Good Morning, Hotshot"
MJ, opening her eyes slightly, slowly mutters "Morning, Tiger".
Peter once again said, "Happy Birthday Babe"
MJ said, "Thanks, Tiger."
MJ ate the delicious breakfast Peter cooked for her. After Breakfast, They went for their work as usual.
Peter asked, "MJ, Is it possible that you'll return by 5PM today?"
MJ said, "I can call my agent to reschedule. But What's the surprise, Tiger? Planning something for today"
Peter teased, "See at 8 today." Then he swung out of window.
Real Studio. Makeup Room.
Jan said, "Where's the party today?"
MJ replied, "I am not giving any party today. Peter had planned something for today."
"Aww. He is real cutie."
"Yeah. He is."
"What has he planned?"
"Honestly, No idea. It's a surprise. It's eating me up inside."
"Might be something special."
"That would be. He is very sensitive about these things."
6:00 PM.
MJ was still late but she was sooner than usual. Their Apartment is dark and silent. She thought Maybe He hadn't returned. MJ went to open the light. Lights opened with sudden Peter Parker popping in front of her with holding a bouquet. MJ was startled.
"What is this, Tiger?"
"A Gorgeous Bouquet for my ever Gorgeous Wife."
Peter handed over the bouquet to MJ. MJ smelled them. Roses.
"Thanks"
"Don't thank yet. There's more coming."
"What is it?"
"Wait. I am dumping everything at once."
"It's a slow burn."
Peter then moved to bedroom. He returned with wrapped box.
"MJ, This is for you."
"Gift? Thanks, Tiger"
"Yeah. One of two."
"There's one more?"
"There is. First open this."
MJ opened it. It was a beautiful dress Peter had bought for her.
Peter asked her to wear it for today's special night. MJ affirmatively accepted. Both started getting ready for the evening.
8:00PM.
"MJ, Are you ready?"
"Almost, Tiger."
"Okay."
She walked towards Peter in new dress seductively. He was in awe of her.
"Stunning. Gorgeous. Babe, I don't even have words to describe you."
"Thanks for compliment, Tiger. But what's next? I am so excited."
"So Hold my Hand"
MJ instead of just holding Peter arm, she hugged him by his neck. Peter then used the gizmo Reed gave. They were teleported to a white room which looks endless from all directions.
"Where are we?"
"Wait and Watch."
Suddenly Everything around them changes. MJ felt like she is falling from air. Suddenly she recognized what it was in front of him. The Day she got her first gig. Stage Dancer. Then it was the day when she met Peter Parker. Then It was day when she got first paycheck. Then Day when she got first advertisement gig. Then she saw the day when she was first starred in motion film albeit small role. Then day when she got invited for a premier of film. Then it was the day when Peter proposed her followed by their moment of marriage. Then some moments of them. Standing at Top of ESU. Swinging through NY in quiet night to have a date at Top of World. Finally She saw her mother.
Her Mother called, "Mary Jane". Seeing her mother made MJ eyes tear. She had missed her mother all these years. Her mother always loved her. She was always supportive of MJ. Mary Jane, "Mom?"
"Yes, My dear."
MJ ran towards her mother and hugged her tightly.
"My little girl is all grown up."
MJ wiped her tears with her hands. "Mom, I missed you. I am sorry."
"Don't be. You did what you wanted to do. It's okay. You wanted to enjoy your life."
"But Mom, I..."
"Hey, Don't dwell on what happened. Are you happy?"
"Yes, Mom. I am happy."
"Would you introduce me to your, I guess, husband?"
"Huh? Yeah."
MJ waved Peter to come. Peter walked towards them.
"Mom, This is Peter."
Peter shook hands with her mom with saying, "It's really nice to meet you, Ma'am."
"He must be very special man."
"He is. He is everything for me."
"Mary Jane, Tell me, Are you happy with him?"
She replied within a second, "Yes, Mom. He makes me happy. Every Moment with him is precious for me."
Her mother didn't doubt her sister. Then she turned to Peter, "Thanks for loving her. For making her happy. For being with her."
Peter didn't know how to answer it. He was awkward. "Ma'am, I'll always make her happy. I will always cherish her. Always love her."
"He is really nice. Dear, How long have you been together? How did you two met?"
"Mom, We had been together for around 20 year. He is May Parker's nephew."
"May Parker? Anna's neighbor?"
"Yeah, Mom. Apparently Aunt Anna and his Aunt May was trying to set up us for blind date. We both initially looked for excuses for not meeting but eventually, We met. We are together since then."
"Great, My Dear. Do you two have any children? I would really love to meet them?"
It was a awkward thing for them to answer. It hasn't been much of time since they split. Although They are together, they are taking their time.
MJ answered after a short break with hesitation in voice, "Mom, We didn't have children yet."
"It's okay, Dear."
Mary Jane talked to her mother for hours. About her career, her life. About Peter. About Gayle. About Her father. About Aunt Anna. About Everything. It was finally time.
Her Mother while going, "Love You, My dear. Always Be happy and Enjoy." Her mother placed a kiss on her forehead and both of them said "Good Bye."
It was Peter and MJ only. She turned towards Peter. She hugged him. With Teary eyes, She said, "Thanks, Tiger. This had been best day of my life." Peter looked into MJ eyes. He wiped her teary eyes with her suit's cuff. She proceeded to kiss him which he reciprocated. It wasn't hard to deduce that MJ had liked Peter's gift.
"Now, Babe. We proceed further into our night."
"It's still left."
"Yeah."
Peter held MJ's hand. A Door opened in the hall. They walked from it. She was startled when She realized that They were in Baxter Building whole time. Gayle and her sons, their friends, Fantastic Four were there. It was very decorated hall.
She exclaimed with surprise, "Oh My God"
Everyone wished her happy birthday. They continued to cut the cake which were quite large with Peter and MJ's small statue which looked almost real.
EPILOGUE
After the party, They returned to their apartment. They ended up in their PJ very quickly and went to bed. They were lying cuddling on their bed.
"Thanks for everything, Tiger. I LOVE YOU so much."
"Anything for you, Mary Jane Watson. I LOVE YOU."
