Work Text:
The morning after Gyeong-su’s birthday party was an entertaining and eventful day to all those involved to say the least.
Namra woke up with a very painful headache to the point she could barely move. Opening her eyes felt like torture and moving her body felt like a chore in of itself. However, she had to move her hands to check on what was going on with her phone with the nonstop notification blasting her ears every few seconds.
She slowly raised her phone to open and check the group chats of her friends to see what news brings to her on this painful Saturday morning. The first one she checked was the party group chat where everyone who was invited went to talk about any concerns and plans and ideas they had for the party.
Gyeong-su and Cheong-san took a picture with I-sak and On-jo who looked just as haggard and wasted as she did, she didn’t have to look at a mirror. She knows she looks like a mess. Woo-jin said he came out somewhat okay but his stomach and overall body felt like the liquids in his body felt misplaced. Dae-su said he’s been puking since 8 AM.
“It's 11:00 AM right now.” Namra thought and winced, she felt pity for her poor friend currently throwing up over 6 plates of food.
Neither Woo-jin or Joon-yeong have seen the group chat and are probably asleep or just dealing with their own torment in silence. Mi-jin sent a picture of her with a thumbs up eating with her family. Ji-min sent a picture of some hangover soup she was having and Hyo-ryung said she’s been under her blanket since she woke up around 5 AM since the sunlight genuinely hurt her eyes combined with the pain of also opening her eyes made blinking some form of torture she’s quite new to.
However, as good as knowing they all came home safe and were experiencing the same problems as she did. She was looking for one specific person to message her that morning.
She scrolled past the many messages from On-jo, I-sak, and the girls group chat she usually chatted to the most. She was currently looking for a message from Suhyeok, who she wondered, made it home safe and sound. Their conversation last night was quite brief since she passed out shortly after she changed and went to bed.
However, she did see a message from her mother saying that she won’t be home until Monday morning to which she replied with a simple “okay. be safe.” and quickly went on to wait for a notification from Suhyeok. A ding rang out from her phone and she quickly went on to check who it was.
@l.soohyuk
goodmorning, are you awake :>
She smiled widely at the message and got ready to message him.
@choi.nm

@l.soohyuk
hey, you’re alive good to know

@choi.nm
hi, suhyeok :>
@l.soohyuk

@choi.nm

@l.soohyuk

@choi.nm

@l.soohyuk
don’t worry, i’m otw
Namra squinted her eyes at this particular message.
@choi.nm
what do you mean???
@l.soohyuk
i’m headed to your place right now
Namra quickly shot up out of bed after seeing this and quickly regretted it because her head felt a massive pang of pain from the action. She typed her message as fast as she could in the hopes of persuading him from coming here.
@choi.nm
hey, don’t come here. i look awful.
@l.soohyuk
too late, i’m already on a bus to the nearest stop to your house
besides, you’re always pretty to me so that won’t stop me at all
Namra blushed at the comment and quickly thought “fuck, the things he makes me feel.” while still trying to still stop him from coming here.
@choi.nm
nobody will come pick you up
@l.soohyuk
i’m friends with the guards no worries
grandma made you hang-over soup so you better not send me back now
Namra bit her lip after seeing the last message and felt sort of shy because Suhyeok asked his grandma to make her some soup and was willing to personally deliver it.
@choi.nm
you didn’t have too…
@l.soohyuk
it’s okay :>
besides grandma loves you so she had no problems with it
i also wanted to see you so…
you know i’ll be your delivery man for today hehe
She just laid back down accepting defeat and waiting for her…”boyfriend”?
She didn’t even know what they were and now here Suhyeok comes without a care in the world to check up on her. Well, she might as well ask later when he arrives and they can talk about it. It can’t be that hard, right?
@l.soohyuk
i did promise to come see you today before you went to bed
just stay in bed and wait for me
i’ll take care of you today ♡
She felt her heart beat faster and smiled very widely at the message. She just set her phone down right beside her and closed her eyes for a bit, waiting for a ding or a notif to alert her that Suhyeok was there in her condominium. Instead, she got a rhythmic knock on her door to which she slowly stood up and walked to the door to check who it was.
“I’m coming.” Namra calmly said to herself.
She peeped at the keyhole to check who knocked and low and behold it was Suhyeok. He was wearing a black hoodie, black Nike shorts and Nike Air Max 97 Photon Grey but before she could look in awe at how good Suhyeok looked she had to look at herself first.
“Suhyeok, give me a minute!” She quickly yelled as she made her way to the bathroom as fast as possible to fix her appearance.
Suhyeok just stood by the door with a smile and said “Okay!” while holding a plastic bag of food and drinks. Namra went into the bathroom to inspect her appearance and she absolutely hated what she saw in the mirror.
Hair all over the place, some lipstick still leftover from last night, and the fact her bags were showing made her want to peel her face off and quickly switch it out for something much more presentable. She quickly brushed her hair while washing her face of any remaining make-up. She dried up her face and looked one last time at her appearance before thinking “fuck it.” and made her way to the door and let Suhyeok inside.
She took one deep breath before opening the door to reveal a smiling Suhyeok who raised the hand holding food and other things.
“Delivery for Choi Namra?” said Suhyeok with a tone of amusement.
She just took one good look at him before stepping forward and giving him a warm hug. Suhyeok, who was stunned at first, reciprocated the hug and hugged her using one arm around her neck and one was busy holding the bag.
“I was serious, you know. You didn’t have to come.” Namra said while burying herself into his chest. “He smells good.” She thought as she smelled vanilla and mint on him.
“Well, I wanted to, besides I know you won’t be able to function too well considering that nasty hangover everybody has including you.” Suhyeok said with a soft and affectionate tone. He used his fingers to slowly raise her chin to make her look at him.
She looked at him with a tired expression albeit with a very relieved smile. She looked glad that he was here. “Cute.” Suhyeok thought to himself as he gave her a warm smile.
“Come on, let’s go inside unless you want to stay out here?” Suhyeok said.
Namra unlatched herself from him and walked inside, he followed suit and entered the unit.
As he entered the unit, Namra made her way to her bedroom to fix the sheets and pillows since she didn’t want to see how messy her bed was especially with Suhyeok around.
Namra started walking backwards facing Suhyeok said “Make yourself at home, I just need to go fix something.” before turning and walking to her bedroom.
Namra’s condominium was very plain and very modern to say the least. White walls, white furniture, with white curtains. It isn’t actually new to Suhyeok since he’s been here a couple of times. Actually, he’s the only person from their class that's been inside her home. Namra’s room was no different with it having plain white walls, a white bed frame with white sheets, with white wooden floorboards.
“Your house is still an eyesore, no matter how many times I come here.” Suhyeok commented with a joking tone. He slowly took off his shoes and made his way to the kitchen.
“I know, I know. But Mom isn’t one to renovate either since she’s barely home to begin with.” Namra said calmly as she fixed her sheets inside her bedroom.
“I’ll set up your food by your table, okay?!” Suhyeok yelled to inform her of his intentions.
“Okay!” Namra yelled from her bedroom.
Suhyeok slowly pulled out the food from the plastic and laid it out on the table. Tupperwares with tuna omelette, kimchi, jajangmyeon, fried rice, and a container filled with hangover soup. He went to the kitchen to get a plate and a pair of spoon and fork for Namra. He quickly placed it on the table and ran to the pantry to get two glasses and a pitcher of water for both of them.
As he sat down, Namra finished fixing her bed and made her way to the seat opposite Suhyeok. She saw the food and plates set up and said “thank you.” to Suhyeok before he gestured for her to start eating.
As she started eating, Suhyeok just sat down in front of her looking at her. She ate quite slowly but enough. They soon started a conversation.
“You know we can share this, right?” Namra said looking at Suhyeok
“I know but I already ate so I’m fine.”
“Are you sure? I can’t finish all this.”
“It’s fine, just save some for lunch or dinner. If it makes it that far, I guess?”
Namra nodded and took a few more bites until she said she was sufficiently full. She didn’t want to eat too much since she still felt a bit woozy from the liquor.
“I’m done.” Namra said as she slouched against the chair with closed eyes.
“Okay.” Suhyeok stood up to try and clean up after her.
“You stop, I'll do it. Just sit down by the couch.” Namra quickly intercepts him and stops him from doing anymore things.
“But…” Suhyeok pouted which almost made Namra feel a bit soft inside before she decided otherwise.
She quickly followed up and said softly. “No buts…just sit down. I’ll join you in a bit, okay?” as she patted his cheek softly before saying “Go.” and gestured to the couch.
Suhyeok nodded and followed her orders and sat down by the couch while she washed her dishes quickly in order to join him.
“How do I ask him about what we are? Do I just go straight in or do I just dance around the topic until it feels comfortable to bring up?” Namra thought to herself as she finished washing her plate and quickly placing it by the corner.
She took a deep breath, and thought “It can’t be that hard to ask him.”
She slowly made her way to Suhyeok by the sofa, who closed his eyes momentarily while laying his back on the sofa. “He looks tired.” She thought.
“Hey.” Namra touched his cheek with her palm and he slowly opened his eyes with a smile slowly forming on his face
“Hey.” Suhyeok sat up straight after this and patted the spot beside him, gesturing for her to sit beside him.
She obliged and sat beside him. She turned to him and slowly placed his head on her lap. Suhyeok didn’t argue and just followed what she wanted to do with him.
“Did you sleep well?” Namra asked with a concerned tone. She took a look at the resting Suhyeok.
“Not really, I think I feel like hell just like you to be honest.” Suhyeok replied slowly to make his words more concise in order to avoid repeating them.
“Why didn’t you rest then? we could’ve seen each other tomorrow.” Namra said softly.
“As I said, I wanted to see you. Besides, there’s no better place to rest than right here, right beside you, right now.” Suhyeok said in a warm tone. Namra just smiled in response and bit her lip to prevent her from smiling too much.
“I’m just surprised, what did your grandmother say? I’m guessing she had some stuff to say after you came home.” Namra said while looking at Suhyeok.
“Not really, I told her the truth. I agreed to bring you home since the party ended at 10. We still had to clean up and that took an hour. There were no more buses around that time so I had to walk you home. Simple.” Suhyeok explained the simplified version of last night’s events to her which she was amused by.
Namra just nodded in response and said “Anything else?”
“Grandma likes you so she’d probably kill me if I left you alone that night, I wouldn't allow myself to leave you alone either since…” Suhyeok said in a joking manner before stopping his words. She noticed a small blush growing across his face.
“Yeah, I know.” Namra said in an affectionate tone with a loving gaze on the resting boy.
“You can stay here for the whole day, you know. My mother isn’t coming home until Monday.”
“And what would we do?” Suhyeok smiled with closed eyes.
“Anything, I guess?” Namra said in an entertained tone.
“Like what?” Suhyeok asked in an interested tone.
“Watch television, cook some nice food, and maybe nap together.” Namra said, listing down the possible activities they could do today.
“That sounds nice. I was planning on bringing you out to the mall for a quick snack.” Suhyeok followed up and quickly said
“I think I like my suggestion more.” Namra said confidently.
“I’m not gonna lie, yours does sound better than mine.” Suhyeok agreed without complaint.
“Well, the plan is settled then. We will stay here for the day.” Namra announced victoriously.
A comfortable silence sat between them for a small bit. Namra softly stroking Suhyeok’s hair with Suhyeok breathing comfortably and slowly as he rested his eyes.
“Namra.” Suhyeok said in a deep voice.
Namra turned to look at Suhyeok with his eyes wide open looking at her in a manner she could only describe in the simple words of fondness, love, and adoration in the world.
“Can I ask you something?” Suhyeok said.
“Of course, anything.” Namra said with a sheepish smile and warm tone.
Suhyeok slowly rose up and went to kneel in front of Namra. Namra, puzzled at this, went to look at him.
“Look at me first.” Suhyeok asked with a kind smile and a grin that could make most girls fall.
“It feels odd, even though. We confessed yesterday but…” Suhyeok started his question.
“Oh, he went first.” Namra felt a little surprised by it but was somewhat flattered by it.
“Will you have me as your boyfriend?” Suhyeok asked with all the courage he had and the most genuine tone he could give.
Namra just let out the biggest and most beautiful smile he had ever seen come from her face.
“Hmm…let me think about it.” Namra said in a playful tone trying to tease Suhyeok.
Suhyeok just made a very scared and anxious expression which Namra found cute and entertaining.
“Yes, Suhyeok. I accept your offer for you to be my boyfriend.” Namra said in an affectionate tone.
The relief in Suhyeok’s expression almost made her giggle but she could only feel warm inside from the fact he let out a small laugh and threw up his arms in relief.
“You’re cute when you’re worried, you shouldn’t be.” Namra said slowly cupping his cheeks.
“I already told you how I felt yesterday but I just wanted to make sure that uhm…” Suhyeok said slowly.
“Go on.” Namra softly urged him to continue what he was saying with an eye smile to match.
“We were on the same page. You didn’t really answer me so I just had to make sure.” Suhyeok said, looking down with a sheepish smile on his face.
“Was my kiss not enough to answer your confession?” Namra asked with a very smug tone.
“Hmm…It’s kind of hard to understand when I get lost in translation.” Suhyeok said with a cheeky grin.
“Then…I’ll answer it properly this time.” Namra said softly.
“I” A kiss to the forehead “like” a kiss to the left cheek “you” a kiss to the right cheek. Namra paused to give him a warm loving look. Suhyeok just looked stunned but otherwise just gave her the same loving expression she gave to him.
“Suhyeok.” She said before giving him a very sweet kiss. Suhyeok cupped her cheek and kissed her back. It was long and tender after they pulled away they linked their foreheads together with smiles on their faces.
She raised her head a little bit and said “I was worried about what to say when it came to asking what we were. I’m sort of glad that you cleared up all my concerns in one go.” then looked down and smiled.
“I was supposed to ask you to a proper date to the mall or an amusement park nearby. I was planning to confess there and make a great show of it under a sky of fireworks but I couldn’t hold it in anymore last night. I’m sort of glad I did it last night since I might have chickened out of the amusement park date.” Suhyeok said with a sheepish smile.
“Next time.” Namra said with Suhyeok looking confused at first.
“Next time, we can go to the amusement park when we feel better.” Namra giggled at his expression and he quickly got it after she clarified. She held his hand softly and caressed it.
“Okay?” Namra said calmly.
“Okay.” Suhyeok said with a soft tone.
“Now, come on. Let’s go watch something.” Namra held his hand and led him to the kitchen to grab a small snack to prepare for a movie they might want to watch.
After that, the whole day was filled with laughter, kisses, and cuddling for the new couple. Namra had smiled so much that day that it hurt her face to even smile after a while. Suhyeok’s heart was always racing no matter how many hours or day he spends with her. It will always be filled with warmth and love for her.
A cell phone rang around the condominium detailing Suhyeok’s grandmother as the caller but unbeknownst to her. Suhyeok and Namra were wrapped in a big white blanket by the couch having fallen asleep watching a movie they probably won’t remember after three days.
It was a lovely day as both would recall on Monday.
