Work Text:
It would be a warm night, Carla had said.
No need for a jacket, Carla had said.
"Carla, remind me to recalibrate you," Cherry said through gritted teeth, rubbing up and down his goosebump-ridden arms.
“Aw, did your beloved machine fail you again, Four Eyes?”
Cherry glared as Joe sauntered up to him with that stupid grin and those exposed chesticles. (How wasn’t he freezing?)
“I didn’t ask you, Muscle Head!” Cherry snapped, whipping away from Joe. “Don’t you have a beef to lose?”
“Don’t you check the weather before you leave, genius?”
Cherry fumed, readying another retort… when heavy fabric was placed over his shoulders, a newfound warmth accompanying it. He gasped and looked behind, realizing a familiar jacket on his back and a completely topless Joe.
“Can’t have you freezing on me, Precious.” Joe winked. “Keep it safe while I skate, okay?”
With that, Joe left. Cherry stared after him, stunned for a moment, and then grumbled and pulled the jacket tight around him. It even carried Joe’s scent.
‘Stupid, sweet gorilla…’
