It’s been five months since they’ve killed Vecna and things were both the same and completely different. Robin and Nancy started going steady and Steve had been a little more than surprised about it. He wasn’t against it or anything and he definitely didn’t care that Robin was dating his ex, he just didn’t expect it. He had also in all honesty experienced his own gay awakening in the short period of time; Eddie told him to keep the denim vest and Steve couldn’t stop thinking about him. Robin helped him get through the crisis; he didn't mention the crush being specifically on Eddie and she introduced him to bisexuality. It was the feeling of finding both girls and guys to be hot as fuck.
Girls were great, boobs were great, but fuck he wasn't going to lie and say he wasn't getting a total hard-on watching Eddie play the guitar at one of his band's shows. He hadn't felt this way before, about literally any guy in school, until he met Eddie. There was just something different about him, something that was completely driving him insane.
Even if Steve had been drinking that night in a room with an intoxicating smell of smoke, he can clearly remember what happened after the show. He met Eddie outside, they walked to his van, and Eddie asked him what he wanted.
“Tell me what you want Steve.”
All the game that Steve thought he had was completely gone as he stood too close to the guy he had a crush on. He was only able to get out one word that had the most significant meaning, “You.”
Eddie gave him a grin and they shared their first kiss under the stars. Since then they had been dating for two months now and things were actually going really great. In all honesty, things were going a lot better than all the girls he had been with. It took him about a week before he was able to tell Robin about his unnamed crush actually being Eddie and that they were now an official thing. As expected she had freaked out about it during the entirety of their shift, even more so when Eddie came in to check out a random movie.
It’s Friday, two hours before the end of his shift, and Steve’s feeling a little more than good right now. He’s sprawled across the couch in the staff room at Family Video and Eddie’s right there on top of him. He locked the door behind him and made a deal with Robin to owe her a favor if she kept watch for Keith for the last two hours.
Steve shivers as he feels the cold of Eddie’s skin and rings under his shirt. Steve notices he’s avoiding the spots with the bites or at least was trying to. He kept his touch gentle if his fingers grazed the spots; they didn’t necessarily hurt anymore, they were just sensitive and Eddie refused to let him feel anything else but the moment.
When Eddie starts to grind his hips against him, Steve can’t suppress the low whine that comes out of his throat. It’s embarrassing but he feels Eddie grin against his lips, “Louder.”
Steve’s sweating and fuck it feels like they’re wearing too many layers. He manages out a laugh, “Can’t…ah…Robin’s going to hear.”
Eddie doesn’t seem to care because he keeps on grinding and Steve involuntary lets out another moan against his lips. Steve’s got one hand on his ass, one hand tangled in Eddie’s hair and is a little too aware of the friction they're causing with their jeans rubbing together. They’re both getting hot and it isn’t long before his jeans start to feel a little too tight.
“Eddie…ah…s-shit.”
He hits a breaking point with a moan that was probably a little too loud and prays Robin doesn’t pay too much attention to the obvious evidence on his jeans. Eddie grins as he sits up pushing his hair out of his face, “That was hot baby.”
Hearing him say that made Steve’s stomach do a flip. He felt hot all over and definitely needed a shower, but it was worth it. He managed a nod and a smile as he props himself up on his elbows, “That was…more than good.”
“Hopefully Robin doesn’t kill me for corrupting her beloved King Steve.”
Steve rolled his eyes and pulled him down for another kiss. As they pulled away he shook his head, “First of all, I already told you to stop calling me that. Second, it’s none of her business and who said you were corrupting me?”
Steve gave him a smile, “I think you kind of helped out a lot. Showed me who I really am.”
Eddie looks a little surprised before a warm smile comes to his face. He leans forward, fingers reaching to touch the silver earring dangling from Steve’s ear.
“You sure know how to drive a guy crazy Steve-o."
The ear piercings weren’t even really his idea at first, Robin ended up peer pressuring him into it since everyone around town was getting it done. Steve also hadn’t really painted his nails before and he’s not so sure black fit him much, but he definitely wasn’t against doing it again.
“Yeah?”
Eddie nodded, “Mhmm. I wasn’t against the whole color thing you had going on, but seeing you dressed like this is going to make it a lot harder to not get a hard-on around you.”
“Well, I guess we’re both going to have a big problem then aren’t we?”
They stared at each other for a long minute before they both broke out into laughter. Eventually, Eddie got off of him and they both sat down on the couch; Eddie’s hair looked like an obviously sweaty mess and Steve was starting to feel a little more than gross in his pair of jeans.
Steve intertwined their fingers together and Eddie glanced up to the clock on the wall before looking back over to him, “Your shift ends in ten minutes.”
Steve glanced back at the clock and barely registered they had been in here that long, “Huh…guess it does.”
“My place? We can go for round two, with some background music to go along with your lovely moaning.”
Steve felt his face get hot but it was hard to not smile, “Also no clothes.”
“Yeah. No clothes.”
“And you have to play me something after.”
Eddie’s music sort of grew on him and maybe he just liked to watch him play the guitar. He flashed him a grin as he leaned in for another kiss, “Of course. Anything for my knight in shining armor.”
They shared one last kiss before getting up hand in hand, Steve making sure to hang up his vest before making their way out. He visibly grimaced at the feeling of his jeans rubbing against his skin but tried to not make it too obvious as soon as he saw Robin. She scrunched her nose up in disgust as she shoved an empty box behind the counter, “Boy am I glad to see my two favorite disgustingly cute boyfriends. I hope you guys didn’t go too wild back there because listen, I can only deal with so much.”
Steve felt his face heat up in embarrassment and he heard Eddie bark out a laugh, “Nice and tidy back there no need to worry.”
Robin looked a little doubtful but she still had that smug smile on her face, “Okayyy. Well don’t break him Eddie, I need his help on Monday and he still owes me a favor.”
Eddie gave her a mockingly offended look and held a hand up to his heart as he twisted a finger around a strand of his hair, “I’m hurt that you’d say that. Break my knight in shining armor? I could never. I love him too much.”
Steve shrugged, “I’m actually a little offended that you think I’m the one that’s going to be broken but okay yeah, whatever you say. My boyfriend also is clearly such a sap.”
Never in a million years would he have imagined he’d call anyone his boyfriend, but it felt good now. It felt right.
Brown eyes met his and Steve couldn’t help the smile on his face, “But I love him for it.”
Eddie visibly turned red and Robin let out a laugh as she waved her hands out the door, “Okay you’re both cute as shit I get it. I still think me and Nancy are the better pair though so….yeah anyways go. Get out.”
They all shared their goodbyes before heading out to the parking lot. Steve’s a little mad they were going to have to deal with a two-car situation; the last thing he needed was for Keith to call the tow truck. They stop in between both of their cars, Steve encircling his arms around Eddie’s waist. They stay there for a moment before Eddie gives him a smile, “So…Steve Harrington loves The Freak of the town?”
“Pretty sure we established this a little while before but yes, I do. I love you a lot Eddie.”
Whatever distance that separated them was now gone.
A ringed hand with chipped black nail polish strokes his cheek and dark eyes meet his gaze, “I love you too. Honestly too much.”
“I’m okay with that.”
Both of them have grins on their faces as they lean in for one last kiss that sends electricity through Steve. He wishes they could stay like this forever but it’s already dark out and the feeling of his jeans is really starting to get gross.
Eddie pulls away, “It’s just a ten-minute drive Baby. You think you can wait until then?”
Eddie’s eyes fall down to his crotch and Steve only now pays attention to that familiar tight feeling that’s there all over again.
“Yeah. I’ll be fine. I guess, you know, you drive me crazy too.”
“Glad we’re on the same page.”
They both shared one last smile before getting into their respected cars. As they trailed behind each other, Steve was itching to feel him again.
Without all the monsters trying to kill them and with someone he had given his heart to, Steve finally felt like he could let himself be truly happy.
