Chapter Text
Michael Afton was stressed, to say the least.
He wasn't stressed in bad way, persay, he just couldn't seem to find the words to ask the Jeremy Fitzgerald out on a date. No- not a date, but to hang out at the least. Why would he want to ask a man named Jeremy who, to be honest, wasn't special or stand-outish to Mike when he met him? It was because... Mike didn't quite know why, but he did know that Jeremy was the most important person in his life other than his younger sister, Elizabeth. Jeremy was so, so kind to Mike. And a bit flirty occasionally. Not so much that he could be considered "gay" during the times, of course. Every evening, Jeremy greeted Mike every night before Mike left to go home. Mike usually hung around the pizzeria due to his father working there, because he brings Mike's younger siblings. Oh, and, Jeremy had the night shift. As in, right before Michael went home to sit in his room, draw and think about what he wanted to (usually Jeremy), the blonde would say his caring hellos (and his flirty goodbyes, thought Mike), leaving him with the thoughts of Jeremy lingering in his mind.
And thinking was certainly what Mike was doing now, alone in his room. Casting his, quite crude, rough drawing of Foxy the Pirate aside, Michael took a deep breath. Okay, how do I ask him to hang to hang out? Well.. what about, 'Jeremy, would you like to hang out sometime soon?" He shook his head at that. Way too blunt. How about.... 'Jeremy, will you please hang out with me?' No, too needy! Maybe... 'Jer, can we maybe hang out sometime?' Wait - we're not on a nickname basis. Where did that even come from? Well, I'll just figure it out in the morning, I guess. If not, may William Afton strike me dead.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
A groan emitted from Michael's mouth as his alarm clock, which was, quite annoyingly, right next to his head, blared in his ear. He hit his alarm clock five times, hoping he would hit the off button. However, he had no such luck. Fine. He would wake up. No need to be so persistent.
Mike's eyes groggily opened, and he rubbed them, sitting up. A long yawn came from his mouth, and he scratched the back of his neck as he turned to sit on the edge of his bed, letting his feet thump on the floor. A quick glance at the clock told him it was 8:01 AM.
Come on Michael, wake up fully. Another groan came out as he realized what he had to do today. Alright... let's do what Uncle Henry taught us when we were younger, remember what you need to do and do it! So first it's my morning routine, then helping father out at the pizzeria, then saying hi to Jer and asking him- Mike blinked and his eyes widened. He forgot about how to ask Jeremy! Mike stood up, mind racing while he picked a nice(er than he usually wears) outfit and rushing to take a shower and brush his teeth. After cleaning and dressing he rushed out into the kitchen, grabbing a scrappy breakfast and making sure not to get any on his clothes. Unfortunately for him, his curious - actually curious is too nice a word, prying is better - sister, Elizabeth, had seen his behavior.
"Hey Mike?" The little girl's voice said.
"Hm?" Michael walked into the dining room where his only sister sat eating a sugary breakfast.
"Is there a reason why you look better than usual, like a date or something?"
"What?" Mike's face reddened substantially before he shook his head hopefully to clear the blush. "No, there's no one. Just wanted to look good today, that's all."
"Mhm... any reason why you want to look good today?" The redhead batted her eyelashes, hoping to probe an answer out of her brother.
"Elizabeth, I'm not dating anyone."
The severe Circus Baby lover opened her mouth to ask more on the subject, but then had an idea. She decided to shout it.
"CC, Daddy, Mikey has a date today!!!"
"I DO NOT, YOU LITTLE LIAR!" Mike blushed considerably at the thought of going on a date with THE Jeremy Fitzgerald, yet stopped himself, however not in time. Both the Crying Child and William Afton were on the scene, C.C.'s eyes widened and Will's were looking straight into Michael's. "L-listen, father, I am not going on a date. I don't have anyone up to my standards anyways. Your little Elizabeth just jumped to conclusions because I put a little more effort in this morning, that's all." William nodded. "Right. Well, you lot are coming with me again today. I heard from a little birdie that Cassidy and Charlie are here today." Both younger kids cheered, and even Michael smiled a bit. He would have a distraction to talk to Jeremy.
