Chapter Text
“George, where are you?” asked Dream, over the communicator.
“The train is leaving in like twenty minutes,” added Sapnap, from a distance.
“I know, I know. I'm running as fast as I can” groaned George, as he was sprinting up a stone path.
Surprise to no one, George was running late to the train that was supposed to take him and friends away from their hometown. The three of them had planned to go on their own personal expedition into the world to explore. It was originally a joke they made during a hangout but Dream really wanted to go through with it, since his mom was always going on expeditions. His uncle didn’t seem to give two shits so he was perfectly fine but it took some time to convince George and Sapnap’s parents. After a few months of negotiating, they finally let the trio go on their own. They packed up everything into a bundle of suitcases and were planning the train to the furthest village they could find and go off from there.
Just the three of them.
Soon, the train tracks came into view as George sprinted along the cobblestone path. He checked his watch, seeing how much time he had left to get in. Ten minutes left before his train left, meaning he had some time to spare. He stopped just at the stairs of the station as he started looking for his ticket in his pocket.
It wasn’t there.
He checked his other pocket.
Wasn’t there either.
He dug through his jacket’s inner pockets.
Not there either.
“No, no, no” muttered George, as he hurriedly started looking through the pockets of his bags.
He couldn’t have forgotten his ticket, he literally just had it when he ran out the house. Or at least that’s what he thought he did. He had forgotten and was about to miss his train, what kind of luck was this. The brunet hybrid sighed heavily as he closed up all his pockets. He’d just have to buy a new one and hope to make it in time. As George stood to his feet and started walking up the stairs, he heard a voice calling his name in the distance. He looked behind him, confused, looking for the source. It was when he spotted a small blonde boy in a red & white hoodie running towards him with a backpack and waving a slip of paper in his hand.
“GOGY!!” he shouted, as ran up the brunet.
“Tommy? What are you doing here? Dad said you were having a playdate today” exclaimed George, confused to see his young brother.
“I did but you forgot your ticket on the counter, so I came to the station to find you” remarked Tommy, waving the small slip of paper in the air.
“Oh primes, thank you” breathed George, as he took the ticket.
“Thank you so much, Tommy, but how are you going to get back to the house?” he questioned, looking down at the small blonde.
“I’m not. I’m coming with you” smiled Tommy.
“What? No, Tommy, you can’t. I’m leaving home and not coming back. I can’t take you with me” exclaimed George.
“But you can’t leave me alone,” argued Tommy, raising his head high
“Dad would kill me if I took you with me. Just find your way back home, my train is leaving soon” informed George, as he started climbing up the stairs.
Before he could take another step, extra weight was attached to his leg. The brunt looked down to see his younger brother just clinging to his leg.
“Tommy, please” sighed George, as he tried to shake the kid off.
“Don’t leave me alone, just take me with you” whined Tommy, looking up at George.
“Tom I-” started George, but cut himself off when noticed the expression.
His blue eyes shiny with tears and pouty lips, pressing his face against his leg.
It was the blonde signature manipulating move,
puppy eyes.
He hated it when Tommy did puppy eyes since he knew he couldn’t resist them. George looked between the big clock outside the station and his clingy little brother before groaning loudly.
“Fine!! But we better hurry or the train will leave us” sighed George, his shoulders slumping down.
The puppy's eyes dried up and were replaced with a cheeky grin on the small boy’s face. George reached down and scooped the kid into his arms and sprinted up the stairs and into the station. He tossed some coins to the ticket guy and purchased Tommy a ticket before speeding towards his required train. The ticket collector was just about to close the door when George stopped it with his free hand.
“We are here” stated George, as he pushed himself aboard.
“Excuse me” exclaimed the man, but was shut up when George showed him the tickets.
“Sorry” mutters George, very out of breath.
The ticker collector narrowed his eyes before looking at the tickets. He handed them back and stepped aside, letting the two head into the seating area. George nodded his head in thanks and walked in. He loomed about the seating area until he spotted the horns of Sapnap’s sticking over the seat. He quickly walked over to greet them.
“Hey guys!!” spoke George, as he appeared beside the chair.
“George, you made it!!” proclaimed Dream, his face lighting up.
“With your brother?” he inquired, tilting his head to the side at the sight of the small blonde.
“Hi Dream, Hi Sap” waved Tommy, as he moved to seat beside Sapnap
“Hey! I didn’t know you were coming with us, Tom,” remarked Sapnap, ruffling the small boy’s hair.
“Gogy said it was okay,” smiled Tommy.
“No, I forgot my ticket and he ended up bringing it to me but I couldn’t leave him alone on this side of town” corrected George, as he slipped beside Dream.
“So it was just you acting as an older brother,” said Dream, resting his head on the brunet’s shoulder.
“I didn’t have a choice or else my dad was going to kill me” sighed George.
“He’s probably gonna kill you either way since you brought him on a cross-country journey,” laughed Sapnap.
“Don’t remind me. I’m probably gonna get a call tonight or tomorrow from him” groaned the brunet, as he rested his head on the table.
“Maybe after the weekend, I was supposed to have a sleepover with Tubbo & Purpled” exclaimed Tommy, as he started going through his backpack.
“Tommy, that’s so much worse” informed Dream, trying to hold back a laugh.
George groaned loudly as facepalmed. He was going to get his ass kicked when his dad found out. Luckily for him though, he would miles and miles away when he’d figure that the youngest of the family was gone. For now though, he’d just have to enjoy the time he has with his friends and their small plus one.
