Chapter Text
Each Time it Mattered
The first time Draco touched her in any way that mattered, it was the moment he grabbed her hand when they were walking through the muggle-village. He had stared straight ahead and ignored Hermione’s shocked expression.
The second time that it mattered was when he tucked her hair behind her ear while she was mid-rant. Her words had faltered, but he urged her on, telling her that he wanted her to keep talking to him.
The third time, Hermione realised she was counting. Draco didn’t touch her often, or expressively, so when he kissed the palm of her hand after she tripped, her heart had fluttered as if there was a hummingbird trapped inside her poor chest.
It was the fourth time that Hermione felt an extreme possessiveness over her unspoken partner. Draco had pulled her close to his side, protecting her from the sharp rain and wind while they stared out at the grave of his best friend.
The first time Draco had kissed her on the mouth, it was the fifth time it mattered. Her lips had been icy cold, and her shoulders had been shaking. It had been a rough night for the both of them. He warmed her up more than any heating charm could.
After that point Draco kissed her as much as possible, on the cheek, the lips, the hands, and especially her neck. Each time, it would send a shiver down her body, but there was no more than that.
The first time Draco made love to her, she was pretty sure they both cried. In the weirdest way possible, it was the best possible scenario. Part of them hurt inside, while the rest of them felt heat and passion.
He had entered inside her body as if he did not want to be there, but moved as if he never ever wished to leave. He had kissed more of her then, but it was slow and warm and he would leave salty, wet spots as he moved along.
When he held their child for the first time, it mattered more than anything she could believe, and made her heart soar. She realised by this point, she had lost count years ago. Any touch he gave her, from the littlest to the largest, it mattered.
