Rin walked along the pathway. It was a bright, pleasant day. Rin was wrapped up in thought, so wrapped up that she managed to stumble over something. That something was a sleeping Ren.
"Why are you on the floor?" Rin demanded.
"Why aren't you on the floor?" Ren returned groggily.
"Get off the pathway" Rin said, kicking the woman awake. Ren groaned and rolled into a sitting position.
"Huh? Oh, it's you" Ren murmured as she awoke completely.
"Yeah, now please fudge off" Rin said as she walked away.
"Y'know, I still have that information you want" Ren said. Rin halted, as if restrained by a leash.
"And" Ren continued, "I'm feeling kinda horny right now.. so I was thinking, maybe you could go pick up some porn for me". Rin loosed a relieved sigh.
"OK, I can do that" she said, and quickly set off.
After Rin had picked up some magazines, she quickly made her way back to Ren. As she walked along, she ran into a police officer.
"Excuse me, ma'am" the officer said as Rin passed, "Have you seen..". Within seconds, Rin was handcuffed and thrown in the back of a police car.
'What the hell' Rin thought as she sat. In a blur, she ended up at the police station's interrogation room. She idly wondered how long she had been here. Her wrists ached, and her throat was growing dry. She waited. The room stayed silent, with no sign that anyone was coming. Rin layed down her head and waited some more. Eventually, an investigator came to question her.
"Hello" the investigator said coldy, "Could you provie your name?".
"Isuzu Soma" Rin murmured.
"Would you be able to tell me where you were at noon?" the investigator continued.
"Well" Rin said, "I was, uh, going out to that porn store".
"You were out buying porn?" the investigator asked.
"No! it was for my, uh, friend" Rin said, realizing how she sounded as she spoke.
"OK" they began, "So at noon, you were walking to the porn store, to buy porn for your friend. Is that correct?".
"Y-yeah" Rin whimpered. She was starting to panic now.
"Well" the investigator said, "We have evidence that you were involved in a homicide". Rin's heart dropped.
"W-what?" she stuttered out, "I-I..". Rin crumbled into a terrified meltdown. When she returned to her mind, she was on the floor, more thirsty and with more pain in her wrists. She sighed, and tried to get some rest. She was soon interrupted by the return of the investigator, wearing a foul expression. Rin scuttled back into a sitting position.
"It seems that there was.. some mistaken identity happened" the investigator said, "I'm sorry for the mix-up. You're free to go". She was released, without her money or magazines, and made her way out of the station. It was getting dark, and so she headed straight home.
The next day, Rin headed out again. She quickly managed to find Ren, sleeping under some shady trees, behind a dark bush.
"Oh, Rin" the woman said as Rin approached, "Would you happen to have anything to give me?". This managed to swiftly rile up Rin's temper.
"I was arrested for murder while trying to get your shit" Rin growled.
"OK?" Ren inquired.
"Every time I do what you say" Rin cried, "I end up locked in a fucking cage!". Ren considered this as Rin fumed.
"Maybe it's another curse" she finally replied.
"Um, What?" Rin said, replacing her sorrow with confusion.
"It seems a lot like a curse to me" Ren continued, "And you know how curses attract". Rin stood, dumbfounded as she realized her situation.
"Anyway" Ren began, "Did you manage to get my porn?". Rin groaned and trudged away.
"Fine" Ren said, "Just fuck off". As Rin left, she realized what had happened. She turned back, her face like thunder.
"Oh, whoops!" Ren said insincerely, as she slipped away. Rin sat on the ground and wept. She layed around, bored and frustrated about Ren's behaviour. As she layed out, someone wandered past up to her. Rin crept over to see that that someone was Haru.
"Haru!" she exclaimed.
"Oh, hey" Haru replied, "What's going on?". Rin sighed.
"Well, I've found a new curse" she explained, "If I leave this place I'll be trapped". Haru thought.
"But if you stay here, you're basically still trapped" he said.
"Oh" Rin replied, deflated. She got up and walked over to Haru. Suddenly, as she reached, there was a horrid creak. As Rin stopped, the ground collapsed.
Once the dust had cleared, Rin found herself in a stony hole with Haru.
"Haru" she exclaimed, "Are you OK?".
"I'm fine" Haru replied, "What about you".
"Good" Rin replied. She hadn't been badly hurt in the fall.
"Where are we?" Haru asked.
“Well, it looks like a cave" Rin replied.
"It seems so" Haru agreed. They sat awkwardly in the hole.
"Did you bring your phone?" Rin asked.
"No" Haru answered.
"Oh" Rin sighed. Her eyes drifted over the stony walls: It was a large cavern, littered with a few moist spines in the shady parts. The walls were solid, except for a large pile of boulders and metal in the far corner of the pit. Rin shuffled back when she noticed this. Without much else to do, she laid back onto the stony floor.
"Are you comfortable there?" Haru asked.
"Nope" Rin replied.
"You want to try my lap?" Haru asked, "It's probably more comfortable than the floor".
"OK" Rin conceded, as she shifted over. Haru's lap was more comfortable than the floor, if only slightly. They laid in the hole. It was pretty boring. As they sat, they heard slow footsteps. Soon, Ren appeared above the lip of the pit.
"Hello" she said to the trapped pair, "You two having fun?". Haru and Rin glared back at her.
"What?" Ren asked, "It was an accident".
"We're still stuck in this hole" Rin returned.
"And getting mad won't help that" Ren said. Rin groaned in frustration at this comment.
"Why don't you go find some help?" Haru interjected.
"Hmm" Ren said, hiding her sudden embarrassment, "I guess that's a good idea". With that, she left. Rin sighed in relief. They relaxed, waiting for help. Soon, Haru noticed the pile of rubble in the pit's corner.
"Hey" he began, gesturing at the formation, "What's that?".
"I don't know" Rin replied, "Looks like a pile of boulders".
"I'm going to check it out" Haru said, getting up and walking over. The rocks were firmly set in place, but Haru soon found a way to dislodge one of the larger stones and put it aside. The first thing that hit them was the sudden stench of smoke and death.
"Ew" Rin exclaimed, retching, "What the fu-". She was cut off by the sight of a clawed blue arm reaching out of the darkness. Rin and Haru skittered back to the far corner.
"Holy Fuck" Rin whispered, terrified. The claw scratched at the stone, as if trying to break it down, but soon it returned to the dark hole. Rin let out a sigh of relief, melting into the floor. The solace was short-lived, interrupted by a horrid clang echoing out of the stinking hole. Haru and Rin held eachother, weeping in fear. With an almighty rending scream, the rocks cracked and clattered to the floor. Out of the hole stepped a horrific horned giant, dragging a blood-encrusted club of raw steel. Facing his doom, Haru fell Dark. He stood and walked towards the titan. The ogre raised its horrid club, preparing its strike. Haru leapt through its legs, grabbing a metal shard from the broken pile, and charged back. The ogre turned its club to block, but Haru dodged beneath and drove the shard through the monster's knee. Haru ripped out the blade as the ogre roared, and thrust the blade through the monster's throat. It stood up, gurgling blood out of its throat. Haru blanched at the monster's comeback. But before it could strike back, Rin tackled its injured knee. A horrendous tear sounded and the monster collapsed to the floor, incapacitated. Haru and Rin sighed in relief. Tiredness overcame them, and they collapsed together.
