Today was another stress free day for La Squadra after a very long work filled week. Every little (especially Risotto!) were gathered in the large decorated basement along with the caregivers looking over them. The pull out couch near the biggest tv they had was made into a bed and had many blankets/comforters and many pillows to accompany all the bedding. Of course you couldn’t forget about the stuffies either! The littles were curious at first at why all the adults were making this ‘fortress’ but were shooed off to go play around with their toys.
Risotto stayed in his isolated area as he sucked on his pacifier and played with his action figures. This is what he usually did so why did he feel sad? He looked over at the other littles; Illuso and Formaggio were chasing each other around while Melone and Ghiaccio were babbling about their block tower. He also spotted Pesci being carried around by his brother and teething on a carrot stim toy. Risotto frowned and turned back to his action figures. He wished he could play with the others but he was too shy to approach them. A couple times some of the littles would look his way, smile and beckon him over but he would snap his head back to what he was doing and pretend he wasn’t looking.
The shy little was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn’t notice how Pesci made grabby hands towards him or how he started babbling to his caregiver with little whines coming out to. Soon he was brought back to the present when he heard someone crawl towards him followed by adult footsteps. Risotto turned around to be faced with Pesci and Prosciutto coming towards him. In his mind he freaked out and brought a hand up to his hat to feel the familiar bells that comforted him. "Hey there little buddy, what are you doing all over here by yourself?" Prosciutto crouched down to be at both of their levels. Risotto only mumbled and looked away. Pesci started to babble on excitedly but it was completely unknown to the little of exactly what he was talking about. "C’mere baby lemme tell you something" Prosciutto gestured to himself and Risotto followed, coming closer and kneeling in front of him. He looked at him with wondering look.
"You can’t let anybody know, this is a very very important secret, okay?" The caregiver waited for Risotto to nod before continuing. "We’re having a movie night! Me, Sorbet, and Gelato are waiting to surprise the others" Prosciutto whispered in his ear. Pesci started crawling towards them and butted his head between them, he wanted to be apart of the conversation to!! After all he was the one wanting the other little to join him! He knew what it felt to be lonely and knew it didn’t feel good at all. Risotto eyes filled with excitement at the idea before he was pushed away. He looked at Pesci not knowing what to say or do before the other made grabby hands at his hat. After a few seconds of processing what the action meant he gently shook his head making the bells bump into each other and jingle. The littles giggled together and it was like a barrier fell between them.
Prosciutto smiled at his leader and brother bonding with each other and stood back up. "How about you two go play together? I’ll be over near the bed and call when it’s ready" He ruffled his brothers hair and gave Risotto a quick brush of his thumb on the littles cheek. Risotto looked at him with fear in his eyes at the idea of being regressed alone with another little. "bubba pway!!" Those were the first words Pesci spoke that day and it calmed down the leader just a bit. "You’ll do just fine, little one. I’ll always be here if you need me along Sorbet and Gelato, okay?" Prosciutto calmed down the nervous one and shooed him off once he got a hesitant nod. The caregiver walked back over to the bed with the couple and started helping put together the finishing touches. Risotto and Pesci played together closer to the gang and did their own thing together. Mainly they just kept doing things they found silly like shaking Risotto’s hat, making his action figures do different poses, and more little shenanigans.
Once Illuso and Formaggio chased each other around them making the two babies burst into a fit of giggles. After a while a voice rang through the room, "Everybody!! Can you guys come over here for a bit?" Sorbet raised his voice so everyone heard and watched as they all made their way to the bed. Pesci took time to crawl over but Risotto stayed with him the whole time. "Guess what today is?! Movie night!!" Gelato announced after his boyfriend and started clapping to rile up the others. Melone and Formaggio were the loudest as the clapped along to and yelled about movie night. "Can we watch Cindawella??" Melone instantly threw out his suggestion and tugged on Gelato’s pant leg as he looked at him with puppy dog eyes. "No!! Toy story!!" Formaggio shouted trying to get his point across. "We should watch 101 Dalmatians!" Illuso added to the chaos. "I wan Frozen!!" Ghiaccio pushed away Melone causing him to start crying. "Everyone!!" Prosciutto raised his voice with authority and looked at them with a disapproving look. "We need to be polite and take turns talking! No pushing either Ghiaccio that was very bad" The caregiver scolded the little and picked up Melone, starting to bounce him up and down in a comforting way.
"Let’s all take turns telling Sorbet what we want to watch and then we can all take votes. Does that sound fair?" Prosciutto offered and they all nodded. Ghiaccio on the other hand huffed and crossed his arms. Him being a hot-head definitely didn’t leave when he was little but it sure tuned down. Sorbet sat down on the couch’s side arm and wrote down all the little’s suggestions down on his phone as they told him one after another. Soon the littles and caregiver were sitting on the floor in a circle and were voting between the different movies, when one was voted out they’d move onto another round. Whines and even some tears were shed but in the end the movie was picked. They all decided on ‘lilo & stitch’ which was Pesci’s option. "Okay! Let’s go settle you guys down and get to the movie!!" Sorbet stood up and went to the pull out bed getting followed by the littles.
The bed was big enough for all of them which was nonetheless very expensive but also comfortable. Illuso helped Formaggio, Pesci, Ghiaccio, and Risotto on the bed while the adults were getting snacks and the movie set up. Risotto was anxious to be so close to all the littles so quickly so he stayed in the corner sucking on his pacifier and holding onto a lavender scented cow plushie he grabbed. Once the movie was in and the snacks were brought the caregivers got on the bed to get settled. It was awkward as they were all big men physically but they eventually got settled. Sorbet and Gelato were in the center with Melone cuddled in between them once more while Formaggio was on the left side of them snuggling into Gelato’s side. Illuso was near their legs with his head on Sorbets leg and a bunch of blanket surrounding him to make everything soft enough to lay on. Prosciutto was next to Sorbet and held Pesci in his lap while he had an arm around Risotto who was curled up to his side. They were all close and comfortable. "Ready to start the movie?" Prosciutto sent his stand to turn off the light and held the remote to the tv, reading to press play.
"Ya!!" They all collectively babbled and Prosciutto smiled as he pressed play. Risotto was still on edge and almost was out of his little space due to the stress of being around all the others but as he got more comfortable and the movie continued he started to calm down and even regressed further to a younger mindset. He smiled behind his pacifier and cuddled a little bit closer to Prosciutto and his new bubba, Pesci.
