Work Text:

The soft silent snores filled the Destiny Bounty's bunk room as the ninja slept somewhat peacefully within them and Harumi stared up at the wooden planks of Lloyd's bunk. It was a hard day for the ninja and supposedly for Rumi. It isn't easy loosing family members including those that are very close to you. Especially when they came back into your life after years of believing they were six feet underground. When the Palace of Secrets exploded many things were left behind to die. The Emperor and Empress, Hutchins, and two ninja, the sun and gemstone elemental masters, Mor and Cassarra. Two that died for Ninjago while leaving infant kids behind. A shame it should be, but Harumi was thrilled with it all. Thrilled to see the broken faces that the ninja exposed when hearing the truth. Seeing the aura elemental break down right then and there. Screaming viciously up at her.

Harumi knew that Warrior wasn't stupid. She was very smart, and that aura capability didn't help, so Rumi swore to keep the facade until she got everything she needed for the ritual. If she kept her damsel in distress act for long enough the ninja wouldn't bother listening to their feline friend and they would shrug her off and leave the team broken. One of their strongest links feeling like she isn't listened to anymore, leaving Warrior no choice but to keep to herself. The princess smiled wickedly at this revelation.

Sitting up in bed, Harumi looked around the space. All the others were sleeping soundly in their bunks except for three open spaces. One was for Cassarra, one for Mor, and the other was Warrior's. That smiled remained when she looked at the aqua disheveled blankets and sheets. The anthro was awake and walking somewhere on the ship probably thinking away of all the horrendous things she could do to wring Harumi's neck of all its life. So, she could send her up to the Departed Realm where Cassarra and Mor could get their revenge for not being able to raise or see their children again.

Looking down at the floor, Lloyd laid asleep in a faded green sleeping bag. He had lent her his bunk to sleep in while under their protection. It was cute and so naive of the oh so powerful green ninja to do. To kneel down to a princess, he barely even knew. So simple. With a slight huff under her breath, Rumi's bare feet touched the cold wooden surface of the floor. A shiver ran up her spine at it's cold and it made her wonder if there was any heating. The whole room was frigid. Why? Pushing the thought aside, she tiptoed out of the sleeping quarters under the deck to above. She poked her head up and scanned the scene. Looking for the familiar shape of the aura ninja. "Maybe she's on the bridge." Harumi muttered, stepping up the steps until she was on the red wood.

Looking forward the princess finally noticed Warrior at the bow. She wasn't facing Harumi's direction. Just her back was and from where she stood the princess could see that Warrior wasn't wearing typical pajamas. Just a black muscle shirt with matching baggy pants. The feline was looking down at the deep murky blue depths of the oceans. A longing feeling fluttering in her chest. She wanted Morro, her siblings, her parents. Anyone that she could trust. That's all she wanted but here she was. Stuck on a blasted ship with the woman that killed a part of her soul.

"Warrior?"

"Go fuck off." Warrior hissed, growling lowly. Fur on her shoulders and back of her neck raised. Hands gripping the wood hard. Claws scratching it in the process. Harumi staggered back. Oddly flabbergasted at dripping detestation in her voice. Her only eye showed the cold, angry, and sad emotions and Harumi could feel it all. It weighed heavy on her shoulders like mountains. She almost felt like she couldn't breathe because of it. She couldn't bring herself to say a word. "What do you want Harumi? To kill me? Well, I'm right here. Do it."

She couldn't move. Her legs stayed in place, her arms at her side. "Well? You have your chance. Fucking take it."

"No-No," Rumi mumbled. "Why?"

"I-I just came to see the stars." She lied and Warrior hissed again. "Bullshit." She cried, throwing her hands up in the air and turning her back to her again. Shoulders slumped, head looking down at the water. Harumi could hear the sobbing and it weirdly tore into her heart. This was a mistake. "Everything will be alright, Warrior." Rumi cooed, stepping forward, hand out as a greeting. "Everything will get better."

SMACK!

Harumi fell hard to the floor. Face stinging. Peering up threw her white hair she could see the hate clouded by tears. "You have no idea what I've been through. Do you know what it's like to see your parents murdered by people you thought you could trust?" She asked, not moving and Harumi felt her heart drop. "To be alone with your parents? To run into a new world just to be safe? To listen to your father and mother's last wishes for you to run and run until you reached the cursed portal? To lose half your face because some MEN wanted you in an anthro trafficking scheme? And once you find a family, you begin to lose them once again."

"War-"

"Your evil. You're the thing my parents tried to keep me safe from. I wish the others would see it BUT they won't believe me. You act too innocent. To naive."

Harumi's eyes began to fill with tears at the wretched words. "Stop. Please."

"You never loved them. I knew it from the start." Warrior crouched down to Rumi's level. Eye showed the sinister abhorrence as Warrior's hand came around the princess' throat. "And the worst thing about this whole entire fucking thing is," she paused, snarling angrily. "You weaseled your way into my heart." Harumi gasped at it wasn't because of the tightening hold on her neck. It was what she said. She liked her. "Why?"

"You're too fucking smart for your own good. That's why." and with that Warrior let go, throwing Rumi down in the process. "Go away."
