Work Text:
Initially, fans were upset that Gura's best friend Amelia Watson didn't call her to wish her a happy birthday. It seemed strange to them, because they know that Amelia is ready to congratulate everyone, and also, first of all, her friends in the generation. No matter how long they waited, the stream was already coming to an end. And suddenly Gura suddenly began to behave strangely. At times, it happened that she shuddered from something, or her voice sometimes began to distort, either from a malfunction of the micro, or from excitement. Then they heard something they didn't expect - a familiar voice. They heard Amelia, who seemed to have entered Gura's room, and did not call. They were very surprised when they realized that in fact it was so. And so the day began.
Gura was pleased with the words that Amelia said to her during the congratulations, and even tried to hold back the tears that nevertheless escaped. Of course, she found solace in the arms of Amelia, which were hidden from their viewers, but they were still real. She was very grateful that fate had brought her a man like Amelia. So many steps that she was able to take, all this thanks to the girl.
They are now finishing up the karaoke they aired after her birthday. This surprised and delighted their fans doubly. Watching the couple during the stream, different thoughts flew into their heads. The way Gura and Ame tried to hide the fact that they really liked being in each other's company, fans have noticed for a long time. All the same, they have been watching them for a long time and can understand even the most unknown hints for them.
"Thank you all for being with us!" They pronounce and after a few seconds an outro appears on the monitor screen. Gura takes off her headphones with a sigh and puts them on the nightstand next to her. She hears a chair creak beside her and turns her head to meet blue eyes. Amelia, who is already on her feet with a straight back, stares at the girl for a few seconds before turning on her heels and walking into another room. "Watson! I hope you have a spare bed or a place where I can get through the night!"
"Don't worry, I'll find something." The blonde answered as she entered the room. She was already dressed in regular shorts and a white t-shirt, her hair was pulled back into a small ponytail. She had another piece of clothing in her hands, which she immediately handed over to Gura to change into something comfortable. "You change your clothes, and I'll make a bed for you."
"Oki doki!" Gura said and after a few seconds she was no longer in the room.
Amelia looked around the room, looking for a place where Gura could rest, but apart from the sofa and her own bed, she found nothing. Forcing a girl to sleep on the couch when she was an important guest for her was unacceptable, and she would keep the blame on herself if she created a coziness that eventually turned into discomfort. She concluded. It’s better to sleep on the couch than bring discomfort to the girl.
She waited until the girl came out of the bathroom and explained her idea to her. What she expected was that Gura would refuse and say that it was not worth doing this. Amelia shook her head, saying that she would be offended by the girl if she did not agree, because Gura is her guest, and she always gives the best to guests.
"Okay!" Finally the answer Amelia wanted to hear. Gura realized that arguing with a girl is like going to some kind of duel, where she is a victim who will eventually lose. Amelia looked at her all the time with a persuasive look, as if she would be ready to force her if she was refused anyway. Of course she wouldn't do it, especially if Gura was standing in front of her. "But only this time, Watson."
"And why make an argument if you could agree right away?" Amelia rolled her eyes and chuckled. Yet she has experience in persuasion, for she would not be a detective if she did not know how to do it. "Now go to my room and get ready for bed."
"Good night, annoying detective." Gura said, hoping that these words would make the blonde contort. Unfortunately, this did not happen. Instead, she looked at her with the same persuasive and indifferent gaze at everything around her. After all, this detective can really hold his own. What an annoying... "Then you'll make breakfast for us in the morning."
"Of course." Amelia nodded, and a smile appeared on her face, as if her past condition had been blown away by the wind. "Good nigh Gura."
***
Gura could not sleep. She felt tired, but for some reason she did not think of sleeping. Perhaps it was because Amelia, in preparing to bring her comfort, had made herself uncomfortable. But she could not blame her. After all, the girl had done so much work for her and for everyone. She had always liked Amelia. When they first met, she thought she was just like everyone else who had been around her in the past. But even though Amelia was still the kind of nerd who would insist on her own way, no matter what it cost her, Gura would always admire her.
Amelia. Ame... It seemed that if she said those words a bunch of times at any given time, it would warm her soul just thinking about its owner. How long had it been going on? Probably since the very first time they had met, and it was still going on. And yet she can't sleep. Why is this happening to her right now, when she knows that on the other side of the wall on the couch, the blonde is dozing. Maybe it's the thought that even though the girl is far away, she's actually very close.
She gets out of bed because her mind wants her to, and her own legs lead her spontaneously to the exit of the room. As she walks past the study, where the detective says he sometimes does his business of investigating crimes, she notices a pile of papers on the desk through the ajar door. Here she enters the living room. She notices a blonde woman lying on the couch, with one arm hanging down and the other under a pillow. She walked over to her and squatted across from her, looking into her eyes. Amelia was as calm as ever, whether it concerned her sleep or an energetic day.
"I wish I could be that calm when you're around." Mouthed Gura to herself so quietly that the girl couldn't hear her. She knows that even though Amelia sleeps like the dead, she is ready for anything if any trouble should happen. She didn't realize why she wanted it, but reached her hand toward the girl's face, brushing the bangs out of her eyes. Gura noticed that the girl's face wrinkled and pulled her hand away from her as quickly as possible.
Gura stared into the blue eyes that stared at her from under her eyelids. She involuntarily swallowed, realizing that she had inadvertently woken the girl and guilt gripped her. Amelia rubbed her eyes and finally realized the situation.
"Gura?" She asked, sitting up in the couch. Blinking a few more times, she could already get a good look at the girl who stood in front of her. A question flashed through her mind. "What... What are you doing here? And why aren't you sleeping?"
Gura cannot say that she is awake because Amelia is near her! What if the girl misunderstands her? She had to do something.
"I... I c-can't sleep without something to cuddle!" Good for Gura. Some of that was true... C-certainly that was not the reason she wanted to sleep hugging Amelia... Perhaps. "You know I-I always fall asleep hugging my stuffed shark, but she's not here."
"Oh." Amelia could only say as she looked at the girl who nervously fiddled with the hem of her shirt. She leaned forward, resting her chin on the bent arms that were on her knees, looking thoughtfully at Gura. She straightened her back and smiled. She came up with a great idea, which she immediately began to implement. "Come here."
"Wh-what?" Gura, who was looking at the floor, lifted her head to meet Amelia's smile. The girl lifted her blanket, and moved a little to the back of the sofa. At first she didn't understand what Amelia wanted from her, but when the girl patted the seat next to her, her face flashed with what she wanted from her. "W-Wait! You want me to... to lie down next to you?!"
"I'll be a plush toy instead of the one you forgot to take." She said, and smiled even wider. Compared to her, Amelia was apparently not even embarrassed by her offer. I wish Gura had that kind of confidence. I wonder what was really on Amelia's mind; maybe she is shy too, but she knows how to hide it. "Don't worry, I'll keep my hands to myself if that's what you're thinking about."
"N-no! It's not what you... you thought!" Gura's face flushed even more, and his heart skipped a beat. Amelia really thinks Gura thinks of her in that way...
"Then what is the problem?" Amelia, who continued to insist on her point, arched an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side. Gura really had no choice: either to sleep again, but thinking about Amelia, or to lie down with her and... still think about her. "Hurry up, stinky, I have to go to work tomorrow!"
Gura's body didn't listen to her, her legs began to lead her to Amelia, and her brain commanded the rest of her... And there she lay beside Amelia. There is a little distance between them, but because the couch was not so wide, Gura could have sworn she could feel the blonde's legs intertwining with her own. Is this really happening to her, or is she in another dream again? Gura could feel the breath on the back of her neck, so she buried herself in the blanket up to her nose to hide the blush that was coming to her cheeks. Why does the company that Amelia is always among have such an effect on her. Is this what they call "falling in love"? Perhaps it is, but...but how can Gura tell if she's really in love, or if it's just some kind of joke? When she used to watch romantic movies or read a story, it was so easy and simple, but now it's happening to her, and she can definitely tell that it's not easy at all, it's very, very hard.
Suddenly she felt movement behind her. Was Amelia awake? Maybe she woke her up with all that thinking. Either way, she was sorry if she had really woken her up. At first she thought the girl would fall asleep quickly, but when she felt another movement, she decided that there was no way Amelia could fall asleep.
"A-Ame? Are you asleep?" She utters, thinking that the girl will not answer her, for these movements near her may just seem to her. How wrong she was this time.
"No." A voice from behind answers her, and Gura could swear she feels hot breath gnawing at her already red ear. She feels another movement. Amelia seems to have moved away a little. "I can't sleep. It's too tight."
"Is there any way to move to the bed?" It wasn't the question or the words Gura wanted to say, but what came out of her mouth went out and couldn't be taken back in. She felt Amelia shake her head in that way to answer her question. "Then... Should I leave?"
Gura's cheeks flashed again. She felt something touch her thigh. Was it Amelia's hand? She began to listen to the girl. Nothing came from her, but after a brief pause between them, she felt the girl's breath tickle her ear again.
"No... I just..." Amelia was abruptly silent, and it began to make the girl a little tense. Gura froze, waiting for further words or actions from the blonde. They followed undoubtedly quickly, before several seconds passed. "Can I... Can I hug you a little, so there's more space?"
At this point, Gura couldn't understand what was making her do this, but she knew for sure that there was no going back. She found Amelia's arm and pulled it to her so that now the girl was hugging her around the waist. What she decided to do was a trick of her brain that was allowing itself too much at the moment. She felt Amelia's hand take pity and pull the girl toward her. Gura felt her back collide with the girl's chest...so softly. She felt Amelia's breath on the back of her neck and it made her perk up. She had never been so close to a blonde and this moment was probably the most beautiful and memorable.
"If you're still not comfortable, I can still go to bed." When Gura said this, she did not want to put her words into action, for god it felt so good to be in Amelia's arms. "I'm sorry if I make you uncomfortable."
"Don't think about it, you've never bothered me." A pleasant whisper sounded over her ear. She felt Amelia move a little closer to her, intertwining and so close her legs. She felt something touch her hand, it took her a few seconds to realize that Amelia had intertwined their fingers. The blonde's skin was cold, but Gura could feel the heat emanating from it. Gura could hear her heart pounding in her ears, and it assured her that she was indeed in love. "Still, it was not for nothing that fate chose to bring our paths together. She didn't miss."
Gura chuckled. Yes. The fact that they were lucky enough to meet is some kind of miracle, because there are millions of people they could have met instead of each other. But they met each other, and that is the biggest miracle that could happen in Gura's whole life. Without realizing it herself, she was able to turn her face toward the girl. Maybe that was her mistake, because she immediately met the blue eyes that gazed and glittered in that darkness. Amelia's eyes were like hypnosis, you could forget everything and listen only to the voice in your head, as if in real hypnosis.
"Gura... You're too close, you know." Amelia utters, her voice quiet and excited, as is the look in her eyes as she looks at the girl. Gura doesn't answer. She just looks at the girl, unable to believe her eyes that there is such a beautiful person in this white world. What can she do with herself if all she needs now is the girl's touch. What is she thinking about now? And why does that only make her heart start beating harder? "Hey... Gura?"
Would you believe it if Gura told you that the next action she decided to take was just her heart's desire? You'd have to believe it, she's a cutie!
She hears Amelia exhale in surprise, she really wants to see the girl's face at this moment, she is busy with a more important goal right now. Gura covers Amelia's lips, not realizing it herself, but what she's doing now is so pleasing to her. She frowns as she feels the girl's lips begin to move assertively, not as innocently as they did a few seconds ago. Gura feels Amelia place her hand on her back and pulls her toward her, causing Gura to arch her back and wrap her arms around the girl's neck. If Gura hadn't tasted it, she would never have known that the girl's lips tasted so sweet and felt so good.
They interrupt the kiss for only a few seconds before they join their lips together again. Gura wouldn't lie if asked if she liked the feel of someone else's lips moving against her own. She feels Amelia's hand slide down her thigh, and with her eyelids ajar she watches the blond hover over her. They break off the kiss, and Amelia pulls away from the white-haired girl, looking into her eyes. They breathe heavily, and their lungs show from lack of oxygen. Neither of them decides to utter a word because their thoughts are occupied with each other.
Amelia wasn't sure if Gura was doing this deliberately, or if she had actually decided to kiss her. At first she wanted to push the girl away, but her plump lips beckoned her so much that she could do nothing but respond to the kiss. She wouldn't lie, for her heart ached pleasantly, skipping a beat, and butterflies revived in her stomach. Why couldn't she have done it sooner?
"The way you behave around me is already known to everyone." The first one to start talking was Amelia, she said it just so she could appear to be the best detective in the world. Of course no one noticed it, she didn't even know the girl had any feelings for her. She just decided to say it to ease the silence. "Why didn't you say it sooner?"
"P-Please... Just... Just don't say anything, and do something!" It is difficult for Gura to say the words normally, without stuttering, for she is now very horny to say anything. She knows what she wants, and she also knows that Amelia has the same desires as she does at the moment. She finds the strength to grab the girl by the collar of her t-shirt and pull her to her. Again their lips make contact with each other, but they do not intend to take a second step. She whispers directly into Amelia's ajar lips. "We'll figure it out tomorrow, we have more important business right now."
Amelia can do nothing but agree to Gura's proposal, they had similar opinions.
