Chapter Text

“Slow down, deep breaths. Focus on your target then do what we practiced.”
Dr. Strange said as he paced back and forth in the open field, away from anything or anyone for safety measures. “We don’t need you sending us to a multiverse where we’re made of paint, not again at least.”

Steven Strange, known as Doctor Strange to fans, was a very powerful sorcerer. He had been recently working with America Chavez since she need a lot of personal training. With the power to travel to different universes, Chavez needed all the help she could receive. The two had been in the field for what felt like ages as she tried to do a simple portal spell. one, two, three, six, fifteen, thirty attempts. She kept trying to create a portal anywhere but to no avail.

Chavez fell back onto the ground, sitting up and crossing her legs.
“My god this is hopeless! I can’t do the stupid spell! I’ve tried, what, like fifty times now?” She groaned in frustration. Strange was grateful her magic only reacted to fear and not anger.

“Relax. If you keep giving up so quickly over on spell then you might as well give up at sorcery.”

“That’s a good plan!” She huffed.

Strange held his hand out to help Chavez stand up. “If I gave up when I first started sorcery, then I wouldn’t be here. Just get up, clear your mind, and try again.” He tried to sound calming and generally sweet, but his frustration showed through.

Chavez took his hand and stood up. “Whatever.” She sighed as she took the position to do the spell yet again.

“Relax and clear your mind. Do it slowly then picture where you want your portal to be” Dr. Strange began pacing back and forth like before, watching her every move.

America inhaled, tried to clear her mind to the best of her abilities, and began doing the spell much slower than her previous attempts. Step one, then step two, and lastly step three. The portal formed.

“I did it!” Chavez jumped up and down. “Victory!“

Strange just rolled his eyes, unable to keep himself from smiling. Where did the portal lead to though? Chavez must have thought of the question herself because she stopped her excitement. Both of them looked at the portal before Chavez took a step inside. It was a house, clearly, but it was pitch black. A blue light admitted from a room off to the side. Strange soon followed behind the young sorcerer. When America was finally through the portal, a large suit fell right on her. One quick flash and a star-shaped portal formed, oh great. Both Dr. Strange and America Chavez were pulled through the star.

Strange was sent rolling onto concrete while America managed to get her balance before him. The portal didn’t close just yet though. Strange finally managed to gain control and stand up. His cloak flew around him, its form of communication.

Strange wiped dirt and debris off his clothes. “You alright kid?” His main focus was Chavez, if she was endangered then he might as well kiss her going home goodbye.

America nodded. “Better than you!” She laughed as she looked around. Her eyes were glued to the fighter planes around them. “Wow.”

“Where in the hell?” Strange looked around in pure confusion. Normally when they traveled to different multiverses, they ended up in the same location in New York but this wasn’t New York. “What universe is this?”

Chavez just shrugged, she was more focused on the cool planes that surrounded them. None of them were on or had a pilot inside which was always a good thing. Strange too, started looking at the planes. He was an idiot, and he fully understood that they were fighter jets. His thoughts were running all over the place, yet he managed to look fully calm.

“FUCK!!” A voice yelled through the portal before falling through and knocking America over.

“Who are you.” Strange stopped talking when he saw the very familiar face. “Tony? How are you here?”

Chavez kicked the man off of herself. Tony stood up and tried to fix his hair. “That’s a question I want to be answered for myself, Steven!” He stood there for a second before becoming wide-eyed, turning around, and throwing up. Common for everyone’s first-time multi-traveling as Chavez called it.

“It’s Dr. Strange to you, Mr. Stark.” Strange glared at Tony before gesturing Chavez to stand next to him, away from Tony and the portal that remained.

Tony laughed a bit as he wiped his mouth and faced Strange. “Sorry, Doctor.” He said sarcastically. Honestly Tony seemed drunk, it wasn’t a far-off possibility.

Just as Tony had made one step away from his current position, Pepper walked through the portal. She immediately walked over to Mr. Stark. Strange seemed confused and weirded out. How did Tony and Pepper both get through the portal? Why was he here? Where were they even? Who else would come through the portal? How will they get out?

Strange managed to break the silence that was forming. “How did you two get through the portal?”

Tony wrapped his arm around Peppers' waist and looked at Strange with a more concerned look in his eyes. “Um, well. I was working on a new suit when I heard a giant noise and a bright light. I went over to see one of my suits on the floor, I blame the child by the way and a huge star-shaped portal. It sucked me through and now I’m here. I’m pissed off at the kid that I don’t know for breaking my suit.”

“It fell on me!” Chavez stepped in.

“Still broke it”

Strange just rolled his eyes at the two’s bickering. “Pepper, may I ask how you got through?”

Pepper cocked her head to the side, “Same as Tony.”

Dr. Strange nodded. “I’m going to look around, if anyone else comes through the portal, explain that we don’t know what’s going on either.” He flew up in the air, not breaking his stiff posture, and flew off to explore the area.

Tony and Pepper soon took notice of the planes and instantly went around to look at them. Both of them loved flying machines that could kill people in a good or bad way. America just stood back and watched the portal. Why hadn’t it closed yet? Were more people coming?

As soon as the thought crossed her mind, a giant puff of green smoke formed at the opening of the portal and it closed behind it. The smoke blew away and faded, revealing what seemed to be four. Captain America was the tallest figure out of the four and the largest. Out of four, Chavez was able to spot him first since he was the only one she knew. Standing next to him, covered in sweat, and a thin man. He has long black hair, at least to his shoulders, a leather green and black outfit on, and a very odd golden crown. The crown looked like horns from the front. Next to him was a female, the only one out of the four. She was dressed very similarly to the unidentifiable, long-haired man. The last man was standing next to Captain. His main feature was a robotic arm, tattered armor clothing, and messed-up hair.

Tony took notice of the four people. “Hey Cap!” He ran over to the four. “How’d get here?”

Captain seemed a little fazed from the journey. The green man ran off and threw up close to where Tony had and soon the woman followed. “Yeesh.” Captain watched the two before looking at Tony again. “I and Bucky were.” Captain paused, looking at the robotic arm man.

The man spoke. “Sparing. We were sparing.” Captain smiled and looked at Tony with a nod.

“That sounds like a lie, you and Bucky were probably on a date.” Tony rolled his eyes.

Bucky? So he was the one with a robotic arm, which made sense. Now, who were the two others?

Captain made direct eye contact with Chavez. “Who’s she?”

Tony Stark just shrugged, continuing to talk to Bucky and Captain America about god knows what. Strange had yet to return and no one made notice to the green-dressed people.

Chavez sighed, “This is gonna be a weird day.”

Tony glared at the other two people who just finished throwing up. “Why is he here?”

Captain sighed. “I don’t know the specifics, I just know when Bucky and I were going through the….I don’t even know…Loki and the girl teleported us here at the end of that hell ride.”

Bucky nodded along to the Captain's story. “It seemed like we were going through different worlds.” His voice was much rougher and deeper than Captains and Tony’s.

Chavez took her chance to step into the conversation. “Multiverse. You were traveling through different universes. It’s my power.” She managed to force a chuckle during the awkward silence and attention.

Tony stared at her with a blank expression than a smile soon formed. “Did you say multiverse and different universes? They’re real! Oh my god, this changes everything. I can’t wait to study it!”

The two green-dressed people walked over. The male spoke first. “How polite.” He muttered at the group in a sarcastic yet angered tone. “You are just going to stand around and talk while the poor girl doesn’t even know who you are? The manners of you assholes.” The last sentence was muttered to himself yet the girl heard and laughed.

“He’s got a point.” Captain said. He stepped up to Chavez, close enough for her to see all the details of his outfit. “I’m Steve Rogers. You might know me as Captain America, but just call me Steve for now.” He pointed to the robotic arm guy. “That’s Bucky, he’s a friend of ours. I believe you met Tony?”

Chavez just nodded her head.

“I’m Tony Stark. Also known as Iron Man! Nice to meet ya kiddo who broke my suit.”

“I’m America Chavez.” Chavez happily introduced, glad she was finally given the chance.

Tony snapped his fingers. “Strange mentioned you to me, now it makes sense!” He laughed a bit at his forgetfulness.

The two un-introduced people just stood and watched, the man seemingly got angrier with every second that ticked by. He finally spoke up. “My name’s Loki Laufeyson, son of Oden, prince of Asgard. God of.”

Loki was cut off by a woman that looked very similar to him. “No one cares Loki. My name is Sylvie. Fun fact about this guy and me if you know so much about the multiverse. We are technically the same person but I’m from a different universe than him.”

Loki chuckled and nodded. “She’s probably explaining it badly, but that’s the main part.”

Bucky, Steve, Tony, and Chavez all seemed confused. Chavez seemed more confused about how to pronounce Sylvie’s name, she understood the multiverse part. Tony and the other two seemed more confused about how she was Loki but a female, from a different universe, and how they were here.

Strange flew back beside Chavez. “There are other people here, we can go talk to them.” He didn’t take notice of the new four people, but it didn’t take him long to notice. “Hello, Captain American and Bucky.”

Steve talked to Strange for a minute. He and Bucky answered Strange’s questions happily, expecting an answer they weren’t given. That’s when Strange noticed Loki. “What the hell are you doing here?” He quickly did a spell, not finishing it but instead just preparing it.

“I’m just as confused as you are. Same story as sparkle ass.” Loki pointed to Steve. “Sylvie and I saw a star-shaped portal, got sucked through, I saw these two idiots going through different universes like we were, I managed to get some control, and teleport us to the end of the hell ride.” He smiled as if he did something good.

Tony looked at Strange then at Loki, then back at Strange. “Listen. Loki is in the same stuck situation as we are. It might be ok for us not to kill him or lock him up just yet. If he does it kill us.”

Loki cut Tony off. “Sylvie and I would be stuck here.” His tone was much more serious than it had been the entire time.

Tony just nodded. Strange glared at Loki before dropping his hands to his side. “Have you all been introduced to Chavez?”

Everyone nodded or said yes. Chavez stared at Sylvie, god she has her the creeps.

Tony looked around in a panic. “Where’s Pepper?” He started walking around to find her.

“Pepper’s here? Why didn’t you say so?” Steve followed Tony to search for the woman.

Chavez placed the pieces together that the woman with Tony was
Pepper. Loki, Bucky, and Sylvie all seemed confused about who this Pepper woman was.

“Back here, looking at this double f-18.” A familiar female voice said behind some planes, must have been Pepper.

Everyone, including Loki, Sylvie, and Bucky went over to the plane of mention. Strange seemed to take note of the large lettering on the side of the plane spelling, Maverick. Who’s Maverick? Guess they’ll have to find out.
