Chapter Text
He jumped in the air and beat his wings slowly lifting himself off the ground. “Oh little bird, how do you float?” they ask. “I learned it myself, I always see how the others do it so i tried it too.” he responds. “Oh little bird, you’re so mature learning by yourself teach my son too.” They want what you have, but don't give it to them; they will only want more. “ of course i will, we’re friends”
“Hey little bird, why can’t you fly? I want to see you fly.” they say. “My wings aren't big enough. They say I can't fly until my wings grow big and strong.” he said sadly. “Oh little bird, they want to bury your progress so teach yourself to fly!” they shouted.
Oh little bird, I only want you to fly and teach those around you so they can fly like you do. I won’t let you walk, you can only fly among the clouds and see the others below you.
“Stupid little bird, why can’t you soar through the sky.” They say. they are disappointed why can't you fly, the adults around you fly so why can't you. “Stupid little bird, why do i waste my time with you?” They said,”You can’t fly, only float, why are you so childish ?” They break your spirit. You need to fly and be mature like they want you to be. “So fly” they say. “Fly like how you see the other adults fly”. So he learned to fly and soar, never stopping, never resting. “Oh little bird, you’re so mature.” They finally say.”Never stop flying, never learn to sing like the others and just fly.” He wants to stop flying and be childish and wants to sing. He starts flying day by day far away just to sing a song he heard when he was young “ Two birds on a wire…” hurting his wings he keeps flying and singing. “two birds on a wire…” he keeps getting weaker “two birds on a…wire…” and weaker “two birds on a……” he falls out of the sky. He tried beating his wings to keep floating, to try to fly, to Soar. ‘Oh little bird, why did you stop? Keep flying. You need to fly.’ he can hear her saying in his head. He felt his wings ache as he tried to move them. So he walked day after day, back to his home not using his wings in fear of the pain coming back. He walked and walked on the ground he was told to soar above and he never tried to fly again. Fly, little bird, fly into the sky and become the bird you need to be. Fly because you are told to. Never stop flying because you can’t fail. Fly until your wings give out then never fly again. Sing your heart out and never fly again. Only sing because the wings you have gave you trouble. Hear your voice and sing until you have nothing more to sing. Only then you will fly not because you were told to but because you want to.
