At first, the villain was written off as a liar.
Villains lie all the time, after all. For whatever reason they wanted; for gain, for fun, or just from sheer force of habit. Villains lie. It was an inevitable truth of life.
Which is why it was such a shock whenever a villain was proven right.
It happened on that damned clock app. Of course, of course it happened there.
The video went up at an inconspicuous hour on a Sunday night. It took place in a dingy apartment, and it had the only S Tier villain in it walking around shirtless like they owned the place.
The person holding the camera didn’t show their face, but the viewer could hear them speak. “Hey Alex?”
“Yeah?” Alex said, eating chips out of a snack sized bag and glancing over.
“We live together, right?”
“Are you still filming that clock app video? I thought you finished that like an hour ago.”
“You never answer the question, Alex.”
Alex sighed. “Yes, we live together.”
“Thank you.”
That was where the video would loop back to the beginning. And it went viral.
Thousands of views, hundreds of comments. All largely from the subsection of the world who found Alex’s villainous acts hot, for some reason.
It was a very long week to be a hero.
