Work Text:
For the longest time, Chad thought Mom and Dad were right.
They thought Morgan was being mind controlled by the S Tier— by Alex.
Alex is a monster, Mom would say between bites at the dinner table. Sometimes I wonder if they’re even human.
No human would take our Morgan from us, would be Dad’s response. Alex must be a monster. We need to get Morgan away from them and back home where they belong.
They said it so easily. Were they lies, or did their parents truly believe them?
Morgan can’t remember you, they’d say. You need to remind them of where they belong. Home, with us, by your side.
Was that truly the life Morgan wanted? The life of a sidekick?
Chad knew now how dangerous it was to be a hero, let alone a sidekick. He couldn’t imagine Morgan ever wanting that kind of life.
Was Alex right all along?
Chad shook his head. Capital City was under attack again. There wasn’t time to think.
