All he could remember was the fire. He had held the barrier until it was broken, and even then, he had held. He made the Corps hold and condemned them to their deaths.
“Hey, Saal…” someone drawled from his right. A young voice, one he knew he recognized. Ah. That young Ravager. Star Prince or something like that.
“Did we win?” he croaked out.
He paused. “Yeah, but you got really hurt.”
“How badly?”
“Third degree burns over 70% of your body, partially broken vertebrae, and you lost a leg. You’ll never be Nova Corps again,” he rattled off quietly.
