Wangji waits as the rest of his classmates pack up their belongings and trickle out of the classroom before he himself rises. He makes his way out, then frowning when Jiang Cheng is nowhere to be seen. He looks around, hoping to catch a glimpse of him walking over or making his way through the crowd of students, however—the bodies soon disperse and Wangji is left alone with no Jiang Cheng in sight.
Wangji checks his phone, noting he has a few unread texts, he opens Jiang Cheng’s first.

⇢ professor wang hit us with a pop quiz, so class was let out early.
⇢ didn’t feel like studying in the library
⇢ no free outside tables
Attached to his messages is a picture of all the occupied tables, followed by a cute pouting selfie of Jiang Cheng, and lastly a picture of the huge tree right across the building Wangji’s class takes place. Huffing a quiet laugh, Wangji shakes his head turning to look in the direction of said tree. If Jiang Cheng wasn’t there it meant he’d probably lost track of time. Odds were he was still there since he hadn’t sent any more follow up messages.
Wangji hoists up his bag on his shoulder and makes his way across the lot towards where hopes Jiang Cheng is.

In no less than five minutes, Wangji has reached his destination only to find his boyfriend sprawled on his back, with his hands behind his neck, a history book covering his face.
Wangji takes out his phone and snaps a quick picture—read: about fifteen of them—then gingerly places his belongings on the floor and sits next to him.
He places a hand on Jiang Cheng’s thigh and shakes him slightly. Leaning in closer, Wangji shakes him once more and before he can even call out Jiang Cheng’s name, the boy startles awake, book flying off his face. He sits up abruptly trying to scurry away from Wangji, sighing in relief when he realizes it’s just him.
“Fuck” Jiang Cheng curses rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “I didn’t mean to do that” he mumbles leaning his head on Wangji’s shoulder.
“Have a nice nap?” Wangji teases, chuckling when he notices a leaf stuck in Jiang Cheng’s hair. He plucks it out and hands it to Jiang Cheng.
“Stopppp” comes his sleepy whine and Wangji laughs wrapping his arms around him. “I was just resting my eyes” Jiang Cheng explains nuzzling Wangji’s chest, his own arms going around Wangji’s torso.
“Mhm” Wangji hums kissing the top of his head. “Shall we stop by for some coffee and cakes?” Jiang Cheng nods his head but makes no move to get up.
“In a minute, let me just enjoy this for a little longer. I missed you” he mumbles hugging Wangji a little tighter.
“You saw me this morning, and at lunch time” Wangji laughs.
“What’s your point?” Jiang Cheng grumbles nipping at the exposed skin of Wangji’s neck.
“Don’t start something you can’t finish” Wanji warns eyes fluttering shut at the feeling of Jiang Cheng’s soft lips on his neck.
“What’s the fun in that?” Jiang Cheng grins up at him.
“Rain check on those coffee and cake plans” Wangji growls tipping Jiang Cheng’s chin up to kiss him. Wangji then hauls Jiang Cheng up and drags him hurriedly across campus to his dorm.
