Tick.

Tick.
Tock.
Vanessa had been watching the clock for… Two? Three? Hours. Something she was accustomed to, given how boring this job was, but normally she was able to at least watch the animatronics before she got to go home and pass out. Unfortunately, most of them were in their rooms and would most likely remain there for the rest of the night.
Tick.
Tock.
She couldn’t complain about being assigned to the night-shift. She didn’t like kids, and she really didn’t like large groups of children, so she was relieved to hear she wouldn’t be clocking a nine to five. She was also fairly anti-social, so she was completely fine with being the only officer on-site. Still, for a place that advertised itself as being ‘the funnest place in the country’ (was funnest even a word?) she was, well, bored. Bored out of her god-damned mind.
Tick.
Tock.
Ti-
…
…
“God damn it.”
Making a quick mental note to contact management about the now-busted clock in her office, she turned back to the monitors.
…
I’m bored.
She heaved a heavy sigh. While it was admittedly rather nice to not be completely alone for the night, she sometimes wished she could peace out and let Vanny take over without having to worry about her immediately goofing off.
“Me too.”
We should do something.
“Last time we went to do something you almost got me fired.”
Not my fault the staff bots are so flimsy.
Another sigh blew past her lips, pulling out her company issued Faz-Phone to check the time. After recovering from the flashbang that was the phone's distinct lack of a brightness setting, she shielded her eyes as best she could and squinted hard at the top of the display. A happy Freddy head stared back at her, with the numbers 4:15 lodged firmly in its mouth.
Pleeeaase can we do something?
“No.”
She stared at the monitor once more, not paying attention as it slowly cycled through different areas before stopping on the lobby cameras.
…Isn’t that-
“I don’t care what you’re about to say. No-one can get in here while it’s closed unless they have a night-guard pass.”
She rubbed her eyes, leaning back in her chair. Sleep sounded really good right now.
Vanessa, seriously, I saw-
“You saw nothing. I’m gonna try and sleep through the rest of this shift. Now, stop bothering me.”
Gregory’s here.
“...What?!”
Shooting up from her slouched position, she put full attention on the monitor in front of her, ignoring the slight sting in her eyes from doing so. Sure enough, there he was; Gregory had snuck into the Pizzaplex and was making a mad dash towards the atrium elevator.
“Shit.”
Gregory’s heart was pounding, his lungs burning and begging him to stop. He had planned to pay Freddy and the rest a surprise visit, having been given a night-guard pass by Vanessa in case he got stuck inside again. What he hadn’t planned was for the overwhelming abundance of staff bots present in the parking lot, and for them all to make a beeline for him the moment one had spotted him.
Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid-
Those words kept repeating in his head as he narrowly avoided being grabbed by another staff bot in the lobby, practically punching the elevator button and quickly stepping inside, mashing the button within. He collapsed to the floor, panting heavily as the doors closed and the staff bots gave up their pursuit and wasted no time in looking down at his Faz-Watch, flipping through the nearby cameras. Nothing was in the atrium (at least, nothing close enough to the elevators to be a problem) and nothing was trying to follow him. He let himself relax for a moment, turning off his Faz-Watch before forcing himself to his feet as the elevator came to a halt, and started walking towards the doors.
And collided with something that was big, metallic, and didn’t look too pleased.
