Chapter 1: Alone

Chapter Text

No one is born equal.
That’s something Izuku had to learn quickly.
In a world where quirks are the norm, you’re part of the bottom of the food chain when you don’t have one. When your quirkless.

Izuku was five years old when it happened for the first time. His mother gave him a computer as a birthday gift and as a way to keep him busy on his free time, since he has to be homeschooled because of the bullying and all of that cons of being a weak quirkless kid. He thinks there might be some pros of it, but he’s still trying to find them.
He was scrolling through some hero forums, in search of as many quirks as possible to analyze, so eager to discover every little way of using this new possession. He was about to change forums when he heard yelling, and as the curios boy he was, he went on his tiptoes to the place where the yells are coming from, the kitchen, he found out.
-Are you out of your mind Hisashi?! We can’t do that!
-And why not? It’s useless anyway, don’t you know how embarrassing it is to have to pay a kindergarten teacher to teach that thing at home just because it can’t take a little rough play from the quirked kids?!
-Of course I know! I’m it’s mother!
-Then let’s do it, Inko!
- I don’t know Hisashi
-Come on, let’s get rid of it and try have one again
“Get rid of what?” It couldn’t be him, right? Mommy and Daddy loved him, he knew it! So why was he so scared? “Well, only one way of finding out”
-Mommy, Daddy?
Both adults jumped in surprise at the sound of a shy voice, they saw Izuku with tears  threatening to fall, watching them from the entrance of the kitchen
-Oh, Izuku dear, did you hear what we were talking about?
-Just a little, Mommy, what are you and Daddy getting rid of?
Silence followed the question, both adults looked each other in the eyes, one pleading for something and the other hesitant, after some kind of staring contest, Inko sighed.
-Izuku, sweetie, go pack your back-pack, we’re going out
-Can’t I stay? Please?
Inko send him a harsh glare and he went running to pack everything he deemed useful, he isn’t dumb, now he knows what they’re getting rid of.

They drove to the train station, it was late and there wasn’t a lot of people. Hisashi and Inko accompanied him to a train that was going to a place called Musutafu, they gave him some money and went back to the car. Leaving him alone in the train, without saying a single word.
When the train started to move, he laid on one of the many empty seats, he could feel the tears falling, and he didn’t fight them, there was no one watching after all.
