Chapter Text
What a truly clawsome time to be alive. Frankie was 15 days old and they were so excited for what was to come.
Wanting a normal-ish life after being sewn up and created in their family's lab was their first priority. The drama, the romance, oh its so electrifying! Teenage life in their eyes was going to be a blast.
It all starts with school and their parents thought the best option was Monster High.
Monster High, a school where every monster is welcome. Though the school's atmosphere was dark and dreary, everyone seemed so lively and friendly. Of course they were still new to the world, but who could say no to all that?
They had been reading to be ready for their first day, about the school and maybe a few teenage magazines to get the hang of everything. They were bursting at the seams on their first day
Putting on their most freaky fabulous attire, they walked over to the mirror. A mix of blue and green plaid pants stitched together, uniform style button up shirt with a polkadot tie and suspenders was just the thing for them.
"Okay! Let's prepare our first impression. Hi my name is Frankie, I'm fifteen days old, pleased to meet you!" They smiled at their reflection and waited a few seconds. "I think thats perfect! Today is going to go so well. I'll make so many friends, meet new people, oh I can't wait!"
They then rushed downstairs for breakfast. Their father was nowhere to be seen, which was usual for that time of day. Grabbing a piece of toast and booberry jam, they did their best to finish quickly.
After, they ran their fastest to the best school in the world- Well the only school they really know about.
"Monster High here I come!-" They fell down, along with someone else.
Looking up at them, they quickly panicked. "Oops! I am so sorry! It's my first day and I was trying to-"
"Hey no its fine. We all make mistakes and it's not just your first day. It's mine too..um name's Jackson," He held out his hand.
He was cute although pretty human looking, but they weren't one to judge. From what they knew, monsters could exist in all shapes and sizes, even if that means looking scarily human.
"Frankie," They took it, shaking it a bit too fast. Jackson chuckled and got up, trying to help them up as well and looking down to see he was holding their arm.
"Oh my god!" He screamed. They laughed and took their arm before putting it back in place.
"Sorry about that, didn't realize I had my stitches loose," They looked a little embarrassed.
They continued to walk on the path to the school. Trees surrounded the area, likely to conceal it, and it almost looked like it was past midnight.
"So what are you looking forward to Jackson?"
"Hmmm I don't know. Mostly a fresh start, but I've been wanting to try mad science class. It might sound a bit too nerdy, but science has been my thing since well forever"
"Sounds voltageous! I'm hoping to make some friends, maybe have some fun"
Finally they were there. The dark purple castle-like school with a signature skull insignia on its front.
Jackson sighed at the sight before them. A fire elemental fighting with another student with a girl watching them both.
"...Ugh Heath"
"Do you know him?"
"Yes..unfortunately. He’s my cousin," He stared at the ground, refusing to give the elemental any eye contact.
They both walked away from the scene quickly and towards the office for their schedules. There were many scenarios playing in their head right now, but not unlike what they saw in the hallways.
Only a few figures stood out to them in the crowds, mainly from how vibrant they were and how loud they were chatting together. Something about boys and music bands.
The office was rather boring and the woman sitting there looked stern and sophisticated. Her head was not on her body, but on the table.
"Ah yes, Ms. Jekyll and Ms. Frankenstein, glad to see you two have arrived in one piece. I have your paperwork right in the corner over there. This includes your schedules, permission forms, and some other minor things you are required to fill out" She spoke.
They weren't large stacks, but seemed tedious with how many questions there were.
"Headmistress Bloodgood, could you change my name in the files? They have the wrong name on them"
"Of course Ms- Mr. Jekyll"
"Jackson is just fine"
Filling out the paperwork was easy enough, though there were a few questions they didn't understand so they had just left those blank.
Right before they were finished sorting it and giving it back, the bell rang.
"Well you don't want to be late for your first class. Off you go"
First class; Mr. Rotter? Sounds like this might be a long day.
And indeed it was. An hour of him talking about something they couldn't wrap their head around at all and then dismissing them with homework.
Somehow they got caught in the middle of an incident and fled to the gym. Sighing and not really looking around, they sat down.
"Oh hey, you're the new ghoul," A voice said from up on the bleachers. They jumped
"Sorry! By the way don't mind the frights. That manster really deserves it"
"What did he ever do to them?"
"Flirt with like a thousand ghouls and then like never apologize for cheating. Too much smoke in his brain to notice ghouls have feelings" She laughed
"Name's Clawdeen-" She jumped from the upper bleachers and then swiftly landed on to the bottom where they were sitting. "Clawdeen Wolf. Whats yours?"
"Frankie!" They held out their hand like Jackson did, waiting for a shake.
"Like Frankenstein?" She raised her brow.
"Yep! That's my grandpa!" They beamed
After it was safe to come out, they took the rest of their classes with confidence. They were unrelenting and they tried to understand everything, being made of the world's geniuses and all.
The only relief they had was when they went up to their locker which was then spoiled with someone tapping them on their shoulder.
"Hello new ghoul! I'm Draculaura, I think you saw me this mourning? I'm in your class too if that timetable says anything!" Chirped someone behind them. She was dolled up in pink and black gothic chic, reminding them of those lolita magazines.
"Lala, I think she's overwhelmed. Your outfit looks clawsome by the way" Said the werewolf right next to her. It was the ghoul from the gym! She had a cool demeanor, which suited her style and the overwhelming amount of purple she wore.
They practiced this in their head several times before and hopefully they could do it perfectly now.
"My name's Frankie! I'm the kid of Frankenstein's monster. I'm about 15 days old, pleased to meet you!" They smiled. Oh this was going so well! They could really be friends.
"Cool. I'm Dracula's daughter! We were wondering if you wanted to fang out with us sometime. Maybe at the maul on the other side of town? You seem like a cool enough ghoul to fang out with" She said while fiddling with one of her many bows.
"That would be amazing!" They sparked at the bolts. Today was finally going well.
