Chapter Text

In the Kingdom of Shadows...
"As King, it is my duty to see that this Kingdom is well guarded" Bruce announced sanding on the large wooden platform "Oliver Queen step forward" The archer took a step forward eyes meeting his king's gaze "Do you promise to serve this Kingdom till your dying breath, to be the first in battle and last to leave the battlefield?"

"I do," Oliver answered getting down on one knee.

"Then as king, I deem you the leader of the Knights of the Shadow Kingdom" Bruce raised up his sword and then brought it back down gently tapping each of the archers' shoulders "Arise" As Oliver got up the crowd broke out into applause of approval. Oliver's friends rushed over to congratulate him once the cheering had quieted down.

"Congratulations Ollie" Barry smiled shaking his friend's hand.

"Looks like the better man won" Clint nodded shaking Oliver's hand "Dinah is going to be thrilled"

"Come on dinners on me" Barry called dashing to one of the vendors before anyone else had a chance to respond. He had always been exceptionally fast even for a knight.

"I swear that's all he thinks about is food" Oliver shook his head with a laugh as they followed Barry. By the time they had reached him, the knight had already got the food and drinks.

"Thanks," Oliver said taking the food and finding a set along with Clint and Barry.

"Where is the king going?" Barry asked nodding over to Bruce who was walking off into the woods.

"Who knows" Clint shrugged "he hasn't been the same since Talia disappeared with his son"

"I never really trusted her," Oliver said taking a sip of his drink "I mean a princess wandering through the woods who couldn't even remember the name of her own kingdom doesn't that just seem a tad bit suspicious?"

"Everyone is suspicious to you" Clint rolled his eyes and raised up his beer as they continued to celebrate.

Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Strength...
"Look at this" Ra's Al Ghul said leading his grandson to the window "All of this will be yours one day, I know you will follow in my footsteps"

"Of course, grandfather" Damian nodded. A girl stood in the corner watching them closely. A guard specially chosen to watch over the young Prince.

"Good lad, now go into the hallway I would like to speak to Brea for a moment" Damian quickly did as his grandfather told him. The girl looked over at the doorway hesitantly.

"It is okay the knights will watch him" Ra's Am Ghul Brea assured.

"Yes, my king," she spoke respectfully though the words felt like venom in her mouth.

"It has been some time since I have entrusted you to watch over my grandson in that time I have come to think of you as a daughter," He said turning to look back outside.

"Why thank you my king my purpose is to serve" she bowed gracefully.

"The time of division is coming to an end" Ra's Al Ghul smiled coldly "We will once again be one kingdom united under my rule and you, my dear, will be at the center of it all"

"How do you plan to take over so many?" She asked curiously.

"Have you forgotten I've rogues and owls under me now" He grinned.

"Are you sure you want to work with them, Helena isn't exactly known for following others" she pointed out.

"Yes but she is willing to do whatever it takes to destroy her family" he informed her "You see my dear hate is a very powerful weapon especially when it comes to family"

"Of course my king" she nodded biting back her laughter.

"Good, that will be all," He said sending her off. She shoved a piece of paper into another guard's hand as she slipped out.

"What did my grandfather tell you?" Damian asked curiously.

"You know soon enough for now it's time for bed my prince," she replied leading him to his room.

"Tt" Damian scoffed crossing his arms and sitting on the bed "This is demeaning, I am a trained assassin I shouldn't have a bedtime"

"You're also a kid," She said blowing out the torch "Good night"

"Good night" he responded before laying down to anyone else his voice would have the same cold and uncaring but she had watched over him for years she could detect the small hint of fondness he so rarely gave.
